Yes, Burger King from 1979-1980. Let me tell you about fast food- it was WAY better in the 70s and 80s and that is NOT the opinion of a boomer waxing nostalgic about his past. It’s a fact. Chalk it up to the pressures of competition for the fast food dollar perhaps, but the quality of all the chains has diminished. From my experience at Burger King I can tell you that they have cut many corners. The patties used to make the double cheeseburgers have shrunk and the cheese slices have thinned. Also, only one slice of very thin cheese is now used instead of two. Try and get a burger that’s hot enough to melt the cheese. These days the double cheeseburgers and Whoppers are served cold and doesn’t matter which location I patronize. Burger King once used a steaming device to heat their sandwiches before serving them to a customer. Burgers were always hot and delicious. Their original fries were delicious and were just as good as any competitor- the delicious flavor owing in some part to frying them in beef lard. But somewhere along the way the corporate geniuses thought there was some high demand from customers for “healthy fast food” fried in vegetable oil. The fries would still be palatable had they stuck with their original shoestring potatoes, but then those were swapped for a larger cut fry that has this horrible coating on them. Burger King’s onion rings were once really delicious and always hot, ALWAYS crispy. That’s because the original (larger, and round not oval shaped) onion rings that were loaded with minced onion had a special cooking method. They were par-fried to about 80% cooked then, when an order of onion rings was placed, they were dropped back in the hot oil to finish. You NEVER got cold, pasty onion rings back then. I often tell my kids and other young people that Burger King and all fast food joints at one time were really, really good. Now, they’re not even a temptation. At least for those who remember their glory days. At least one newcomer has proven that not everyone wants to eat from a crappy dollar menu: Chipotle. Love them or hate them they have raised the bar in terms of offering a quality product. I enjoy this KZbin channel and offer the suggestion of interviewing a number of former fast food restaurant employees from the 70s and 80s. I’m certain that no matter which chain they worked for they would agree that the quality of the food has declined.

I lost my work from home job in April due to the pandemic. I’ve been working at Popeyes as a crew member for a month now. The pay is abysmal and there are zero benefits to the job. The managers are a nightmare. They’ll pin the blame of their mistakes and shortcomings on you. They’ll provide half ass instructions and later let you take the fall. And rude customers come by once or twice every day. Not only rude customers, we also have to deal with customers claiming to have not gotten food according to their orders (without a receipt) and customers who will claim they were not given change back after paying. Add to that customers who don’t wear a mask and it’s a recipe for disaster. If you’re easily offended or can’t brush off the constant berating of customers and managers, this isn’t the job to do. The chicken tenders are good though.
@SnowNA2213 жыл бұрын
THIS ^ Especially he managers part!! I only started this job 1 and a half months ago and everytime ive had to work with a manager they blame all their mistakes on me! i only have 3 days of training to learn how to make things, cashier, prep food, call food, package it, pick up calls, and hand it to the customers. Customers are usually nice to me but non of them really look at their order number so if they take the wrong thing then it’s your fault. spicy chicken is great but the mangers are just so terrible and a nightmare. don’t ever work here. EDIT: Also The hours are absolutely ridiculous!! I’m only supposed to be working part time hours (30 or under) yet I work 40 hours in 2 weeks!! sometimes even more!! And in the end I only receive 500$ not including the tax money they take off payroll! I work so many hours yet they absolutely REFUSE to hire new people!

There's plenty of money at the top of Popeyes. Upper management and the shareholders can easily take a haircut and let some of that money "trickle down" to the workers. No amount of excuses or propaganda or appeals to the idols of capitalism can make me believe that the CEO and upper management are worth what they're being paid. These fast food chains can easily pay better wages and the food prices not go up one penny as a result. There's just far too much bloat at the top.

If you work for a fast food company and don't feel like you are treated fairly then I hope you gather up the courage to walk out. Get some skills from a community college or work program. Work on your ability to communicate. And it may not seem like it today but APPEARANCE MATTERS. Life isn't a carnival so don't treat your body like you're a stage act. Challenge yourself and you will be rewarded. And years later when you go back to order a chicken sandwich and fries, be pleasant to the employees who are serving you.

The guy didn’t even see my face and got hired😂😂, but wasn’t trained at all had no clue what to do but after a week i was able to hold myself in the store. Beyond short staffed, one person in the kitchen nobody on dishes everything was just unorganized and unprofessional. Had to go to the hospital few times from arm burns that were really bad and the manager had said he didn’t care where i was in heaven or hell or if i was dying he wanted me there. Other time al the boxes in the fridge fell on me and he had nothing to say for how they had the fridge organized. You have to understand that it’s not entirely the employees faults. When you are being forced to work full time hours when you were hired as part time, things get really shit. As a popeyes employee of nearly 2 years, id say its not really a good first job. Just bc in my experience with other jobs i feel like fast food in general tends to teach people bad work habits. Personally my first job was at a very large corporation so they really drilled in good work ethics. Fast food jobs are kinda slack in that regard. It is convenient for a lot of kids who are in school, especially if theyre doing running start bc the scheduling is more flexible than large corporations. But if youre not in school i dont recommend popeyes for the first job. It is a good learning experience tho bc it does teach you how to deal with certain things (such as pressure, keeping track of things in a fast paced environment, how to communicate quickly and effectively, etc.)

I love Popeyes food. I hate the service. A year has passed since these sandwiches dropped, and getting some is still Russian Roulette. I just went today, and the guy said no sandwiches for another 30 minutes, because they were still unfreezing the next batch. This isn't a case of rush hour killing all the supply. It was 3:00pm (right in the middle of lunch and dinner so no lines at the window), and their speaker wasn't working so they had to call me up to the window to order. I saw others who weren't lucky enough to get flagged down like I was just leave, because they didn't know why they weren't being answered at the speaker. I saw this while I was parked waiting for my food (settled on regular chicken although I specifically wanted the sandwich, because I like pretty much all their food), because they somehow didn't have that ready despite no customers being around. This isn't a case of employees getting a raw deal. All the things aside from the initial sandwich craze are things all fast food and low paying jobs go through. And even before the sandwich craze, Popeyes was known for their terrible service, so what was the excuse then? No, the biggest issue is that they hire anyone as stated in the video. They don't care about the quality of worker or training, because if someone does badly, they can just fire and hire. This is an issue on corporate management and policy, because if Popeyes actually maintained high standards, they'd probably give Chick-Fil-A a run for its money since they are the only other fast food joint that serves high quality food on all levels (mains/sides/desserts, etc). And it's also on the employees themselves, because apparently (again, according to accounts in the video, not my opinion), any piece of shit can get a job there.

Just food for thought, but imagine this for a second. Popeyes mostly employs black people with Indian owners (like Dunkin). Now Chik Fil A is mostly employed by a mix of just about every race. Now when the popeyes chicken sandwich came out, people in the hood were literally smoking each other for the sandwich. With Chik Fil A, everyone knows they are a strong Christian based restaurant chain. Can you imagine what the media would've said if this happened at Chik Fil A? This obviously has nothing to do with color, but the media would've made it such

I haven’t had the chicken sandwich, but I’ve tried the fried chicken twice and really wanted to like it because I heard it was spicy. My impression of their chicken: dry, and unremarkable. So far as chicken sandwiches go, I love Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich. And Arby’s Buttermilk Buffalo Sandwich is phenomenal. They actually dip the crispy fried filet of chicken in genuine Buffalo sauce though it could be improved by ditching the ranch dressing and replacing it with blue cheese dressing.

I make 15 an hour and we get a bonus for every hour we work . So if I work 160 hours a week my bonus check on the 7th would be 160 in a separate deposit. Mangers do not make 12 an hour that is a lie here in Indiana they make anywhere from 18 one who has no serfsave yet or experience to 23 for experienced Assailant managers usually make a biweekly salary check of 4000 and Gm 5000 to 6000

i stop ordering from popeyes in canada. been too many orders coming with "bloody" chicken. i personally recieved a bloody tender. I use to go twice a week just for chicken tenders. you can see BC Canada google reviews. someone took pics of their bone in chicken also bloody. I stop going for health reasons, don't want to get sick. sadly there only 2 locactions in BC and 1 of them is too far for a drive.

You're likely just seeing the seasoning. It's very red in color. Hard for me to believe they're serving raw chicken when it's all fried with an automatic timer on the fryer. It's a pretty idiot proof cooking method.
@boddah921084 жыл бұрын
I had a chicken strip from Popeyes recently; that also had blood or something in it. It was in the meat so I don't think it was seasoning.

@@DarthIke77 sadly no problem is they hiring people with no experience and the chicken is being under cooked. sadly they had guy's review pictures taken down, and was clearly bloody. here another picture from same location but it's not bloody www.google.com/maps/place/Popeyes+Louisiana+Kitchen/@49.1185237,-122.8233867,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipN7j320sPNWMKXDOUeXL_Dl6FfSk6EymQ-XMC_R!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipN7j320sPNWMKXDOUeXL_Dl6FfSk6EymQ-XMC_R%3Dw203-h270-k-no!7i3000!8i4000!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x5485db90afbda99d:0xac6ff6b07632b66b!2sPopeyes+Louisiana+Kitchen!8m2!3d49.1188815!4d-122.8237528!3m4!1s0x0:0xac6ff6b07632b66b!8m2!3d49.1188829!4d-122.8237581

@@tysonlaplante3957 I'm not even trying to defend Popeyes. I used to work there and I hated it. See my other comments. I think it was probably cooked just fine. You're just an over picky eater. Chickens have veins and shit. That's what cooked chicken looks like. Those photos aren't bloody. You just don't want the animals you eat to look like animals. Frying chicken isn't hard. I’m all for raises but I stopped going to Popeyes chicken because there’s no point of going because you can’t even get your food within 10/15 minutes you get it an hour to 2 hours later and even then after waiting your told they are all out of spicy chicken, Either Popeyes needs to hire more people or find a solution to getting people food faster. Maybe start doing online orders and I do believe in giving them a raise to 15 bucks a hour because then the workers they hire will be way to scared to lose there job and actually do their job. No one cares to lose there job at 8 bucks an hour. I bet you u rise it to 15 bucks it would be a whole lot different, then Popeyes would do a lot better. If I seen no line a Popeyes I’d pull over and get food but you don’t!!! It worth it to me.

@@asadb1990 true but your expectations should be extremely low. Probably if you're in college you should be thinking about working bottom tier in the industry that you're hoping to enter after graduation. If you want to be fast food management, that's a good plan. If you're going to college to work in fast food, that's a bad plan.

@@michaelgrier oh i agree. i used to work fast food when i was in high school and initially in university because they provided free food and the money paid for basic expenses. then afterwards discovered security work which was always in high demand and pay was descent for minimal physical work.
