These are the rules set down by Subway corporate, but most Subways are owned by franchisees, and they do whatever the heck they want. Some are great about following the rules, others not so much. I've gotten ripped off twice by ordering online, only to go to the store and find it closed -- somehow, I don't think "if it's slow, call it a day and go home early" is in the rulebook!

I didn't think any of these were actually "bizarre" The cookies on a sandwich might be strange, but it is a customer requesting it and not a normal menu offering... otherwise they have formulas they follow for building sandwiches which is to make sure there is consistency in the menu and then as is part of their whole "have it your way" system you can customize the sandwich. Asking for ingredients or condiments "on the side" is something you can do at most fast food restaurants and the idea of "arrive early and stay late" is more for employees who think "My shift starts at 2PM" and so they arrive at 2PM and go in the back and get changed, put their stuff away, etc and end up not actually walking on the floor until 15 minutes later - inconsiderate for somebody whose shift ends at 2PM and wants to go home but has to wait around until the arrival is ready or else run the risk of leaving the restaurant short handed while somebody is dillydallying in the back getting ready.

I almost never comment but I LMAO with this. I mean, in Puerto Rico you are never greeted when arriving. If you ask for extra veggies, they will throw in 1 extra tomato or 4 pieces of onion. Never seen the employes happy either. The whole heating the meat thing is if they remember.... I once asked for a chicken teriyaki sub toasted on italian herb and cheese and it was cold, in fact just pulled from the fridge. Also had to repeat my order 4 times once! First when I pulled up to the drive threw, again after she had asked me what veggies I wanted, then again when I pulled up to the drive through window and again, when I was waiting to be pay. I just got tired and drove off since it still wasn't ready tbh. The girls that worked near my college were gone soon after.... new people were hired. Oh well.

I wish the people at the Subways I go to knew how to make their own subs. Anytime there is a new sub I’ll ask for them to make it exactly how it comes and they look at me like I have a second head. They will usually say “it comes however you like” and I spend 5 minutes pointing to the picture and telling them to make it like it looks in the picture.

@@TrickyNano yea, I think subway expects them to so they aren’t wasting product…idiot. I used to work at Starbucks, I can’t imagine someone asking for a caramel macchiato and me standing in front of the cup asking them “so what do you want in it”?
