Hey guys, really appreciate all the responses. Both good and bad. One question I've seen a lot online has been around the NDA in the agreement, which "prevents" them from sharing their side. I felt I need to make it clear that I have absolutely zero problem with them responding to what I said. I 100% agree that you need to get both sides of the story so I'd love for them to share their side with backed receipts. I have receipts and evidence for every single thing I spoke about in the video, plus the information I shared is only the tip of the iceberg. - Ben

I think anyone who has 'done KZbin' knows that what Yeahmad was doing was a hell of a lot more complex than a few people just sitting at a table telling Dad jokes. I have a feeling the old cast will run into this reality with their new channel, though I wish them every success. The ultimate judge is the viewer, and we will see what they decide for both groups. Hopefully it ends up being an 'everybody wins' situation.

There will never be a channel with those guys. It's not easy to start a channel this size in terms of production. Hamilton is hardly getting views on his channel. Running and operating a business is is ridiculously difficult and most people do t realize the depth of doing so. Mentally physically and emotionally invested in something doesn't just end when you end your day at five o clock, it consumes what seems every decision you make and takes a toll. End of the day a business must make profit to keep running and expanding, pay the workers more but there's no profits and business dwindles. Don't pay the workers and make profit in order to expand and they aren't happy. Keep the business happy or keep workers happy, these are the daily decisions that are made that most people don't realize or understand. Then when a decision is made, you question if it was the correct one or not. I was in a really bad accident and forced to close all my businesses after I was left bedridden. With much time to reflect I came to the conclusion that one must do what they feel is best decisions at the time and what their gut instinct tells them, if it fails just know you did your best and there's nothing more you could do. I wish everyone here the best and hope everything turns out for the best in the long run

Remember he said it was for 12month, all the cast(8-10people) and 3 days of filming…comes to $1.388-$2.083/day/cast member. Ben made 3videos from 1 day of filming…with 3-4million views on average/video. If he were transparent he would also share how much the channel made…so we could see And remember they never got that money…that was their best offer for the end of 2024…what if the channel got to 5million subs? or 10?

I applaud you for finally taking the time to explain the changes and shift into a new cast because the audience deserves some form of reason as to why the cast they love is breaking apart. Most creators/producers neglect this and think people just swallow content like a pill. In some cases this is true BUT yeahmad is more than just the witty jokes or stunts written on the creative board it is also the cast that sends positive energy and the audience that embraces it. The "crew" were just ghe front. And to demand what they did just after few months of being famous is ridiculous. Easiest way to crash all this is for them to start their own channel. Just found the story through posts online, and it makes you wonder about costs. Being an Australian, I know prices are over the top for everything compared globally, but we constantly get "but your buying power is still strong!!!". Yeah no. At the moment, we're at 1:0.67 to the USD. That's $1.50 for $1 USD. If you pay $100 for a service in America, it's $150 or more here, yet global differences are being ignored in a lot of the comments. Taxes are no joke, either. The brackets for earnings jump a lot, and for business' they're not small either. If Ben took out a business loan himself to create the startup, then being in debt is 100% understandable. $400k-$500k would be my own estimate, not knowing his background or his credit rating. The interest rate sitting around 6-8% for a business loan p/a, plus taxes moreover. Just paying that out alone would come to a few thousand a month, BEFORE costs. Being a startup as well, the deals being brokered will not be spectacular. The initial first months' payouts are enough to show that after everything was paid in the beginning, the cast wasn't given a lot. This increased as revenue increased, but you're 8 months into a startup, still need to pay your loan and taxes, and then you have wages, super contribution (Paid by the employer by LAW, even under contract), income tax (It's EOFY right now, so that's something you NEED to be on top of approaching end of June). Then you get into the other costs associated with the companies business model, such as staff not related to the cast. Some freelancers charge based on per-job/video/graphic, others get hired to be in-house and come on board for an hourly wage plus benefits. What about equipment? Cameras, sound, lighting are all expensive as well. I know damn well that good video quality cameras in Australia start at around $4,000 EACH. And these are the entry-level cameras. People can argue "but you can get away with using X camera, or Y camera", but need to remember that you need to enter the industry with reputable and common equipment so that you can hire the operative staff without the requirement of training. If you get different equipment and have to trainer people to use it, use the software if it has proprietary software (I'm looking at you DJI you group of clowns), and then have an import setup with local server to access said media, then you're losing a lot of money before gaining any. People don't understand that YeahMad only registered an ABN (Australian Business Number) in September 2023... This is when they began as a "business" in Australia. You can also confirm this by searching their ABN number: 63 671 723 345. It's all public information. They are too new for existing brands to look into sponsorship deals, they haven't operated long enough for merchandising to be self-sufficient, let-a-lone outsourced to a local company that is trustworthy. And they certainly do not have the history to take out a loan ON the business, either, to expand (You need to show you can pay off such a large loan with your current earnings. Without 12 months of trading, you're praying to god that you get a good interest rate on a moderate sized loan). With that all said, expecting 50% of the companies' monetary INCOME, and not PROFIT is astounding, to the point that yes, it is definitely greedy and misinformed to think that they're making that much. I wouldn't be surprised that at the moment of the break-away of the cast leaving, they were only getting 15-18% of the income at the time. This sounds low, which is understandable. But take the above into consideration first, and then you have to wonder how much money that would be. Ben coming back with a better offer was definitely done in good faith. The ideas and deals suggestions he approached them with were even more surprising to me because it encouraged engagement and brainstorming from the cast on what they wanted to try and do, and if it worked, they were given a cut of the deal. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but having such a large group leave is concerning. If what Ben said was true about the problematic person leaving, being brought back on at the request of the other cast members, and then leaving with a large group of cast members, has me suspecting that some sweet words were said to some people, and others left on principal due to friends/colleagues that they came in with leaving as well. But this is here-say. I wish you and the new cast the best, Ben. I know how hard it is to operate a small business, but one growing so fast would be terrifying to myself.

Well, 20K$ were going to the cast. And I agree it seems not much. Sure, there are the other costs Ben mentions, but I doubt his bank account was growing by just 20K$ per month at the end of 2023 - I.e. with all those costs, he was making more money than the entire cast combined.
@Whatreally1235 ай бұрын
Thats what a contract is. They agreed for a price to be paid. It doesn't matter how much ge channel makes. And when it comes to contract renegitation, you ask for more. Also just cos the channel is making money doesn't mean all of are profits. There's a lot of expenses to be taken care of. This is socialist behaviour asking for ,ore money but not wanting to be part of any risk. At your work you sign a contract with your company for a fixed salary. If the company makes more doesn't mean you should get a cut out of it. Maybe a bonus but not a cut.
@BlackKnight73415 ай бұрын
@@Whatreally123 For sure, they agreed to a contract so they got what they agreed to. That doesn't mean it isn't a shit (and frankly exploitative) contract. Everyone understands that revenue isn't profit and that there are other expenses involved. Ben should be transparent about that if that is the reason why he couldn't offer them a fairer deal, provide numbers showing the poor revenue and/or high costs. He likely won't though because it'd just expose him for what he was being accused of to begin with (exploiting the cast) or it'd show he's horribly mismanaging the finances. The difference with a typical job is that you're wholly replaceable without that changing anything. The company's brand is the product/service they provide, not the individuals working there. Here though, the brand *is* the individuals they have on screen. They are what make YeahMad what it is. I'd agree with this point if they were filming more regularly and constantly swapping people out but they aren't. With it being the same core cast all of the time, and the industry that this is, it just makes sense that there would be some level of revenue sharing.
