When I saw your Instagram post about yoga a few weeks ago, I wanted to stop following you. But I didn’t. I let the information sink in and then listened to a Steven Bancarz interview. I am now convicted to stop practicing yoga after 12 years of it being a big part of my life. I attribute yoga to my sobriety and trauma recovery. When I got baptized 3 years ago at the age of 40, I was sincerely trying to figure out how to actually live out being a Christian and giving my life to God after living for myself my entire life. I knew about yoga’s spiritual ties, but it’s very confusing when a Google search on yoga and Christianity has a lot of Christian’s saying it’s fine. The preacher’s wife was a yoga teacher. She did regular flow classes and “Christian yoga”. I thought that was weird and confusing. In the end, I kept practicing and felt that God knew my heart and I was only practicing for the physical and mental benefit. (I even went through yoga teacher training and that’s a whole other topic on how washed out training is) I prayed during shavasana, and thanked God for allowing me to practice, and when something was said in class that didn’t match my beliefs, I translated it into what I did believe. (Example:Teacher says - the answers are within, I translate - wisdom comes from the Lord). This worked until now. I see the addiction you’re talking about because as I’ve been healing my nervous system from PTSD including panic atttacks, depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and anger - I felt that I “needed” yoga to heal physically and separated that from the spiritual healing that came from Jesus. Now I am preparing to talk to the studio owner and say goodbye to a community I’ve been a part of for 12 years. It’s so uncomfortable and I’m nervous. I don’t want to be misunderstood, but I will be. I don’t want to be mocked, but I might be. I don’t really want to say goodbye and stop a practice I enjoy - but I will because what I want isn’t as important as obedience to the Lord. He is worthy! Please pray for me and this conversation, though. ❤ and thank you for speaking about this so clearly. It has been very helpful.

When I was a nonbeliever, I used to feel all blissed out after yoga…until my life started to fall apart and I realized yoga couldn’t fix it. Now sometimes I feel a little depressed, but I haven’t noticed any particular thoughts associated with the practice. 🤷🏼♀️

I am a born-again Christian and feel like a "victim" of Americanized yoga. I stopped doing yoga in 2016 after a lot of physical pain and research. Back then, not as many people were speaking out against yoga, and I am happy to see more and more videos and podcasts about its dangers. One thing I noticed with yoga is that there seems to be this thought in yoga that any physical pain in the body needs to be "released". More and more sretching and poses to relieve pain. After years of suffering I found out my pain was from torn tendons and ligaments, and no amount "releasing" (stretching) was going to make my pain go away. Please be not only cautious of the spiritual nature of yoga, but that it can really take a toll on the musculoskeletal system. Do some simple stretches for 15 or so seconds and move on.
@micahrodriguez64192 жыл бұрын
You are so right! The new age views pain as an imposition. Christianity views pain as a consequence.

Sucks because it’s the only thing that helps me feel balanced and relieve my tight sore muscles… I walk 11- 12 miles per day for my job so my muscles get so tight and yoga is the only thing that relieves the tension and stiffness 😢
@Julia298532 жыл бұрын
Another helpful tool for those who have muscle and tendon issues is foam rolling or trigger point therapy. It can help release tendons and muscles that stretching cant get to. It massages the tiny knots in the muscle or ligament fibers, it is amazing and has helped me with plantar fasciitis and other issues in my back and shoulders. There’s an excellent book I think it’s called Trigger Point Therapy Handbook that goes into great detail about it. It’s just a medical/physical therapy technique that really works. Ballet is also fantastic for stretching and flexibility. You dont have to dance, there are lots of “barre” classes online that are wonderful. Kathryn Morgan (former NYC ballet) has some great ones on her channel. Beautiful classical music, no creepy rock or rap.

It takes so much to stand up for what's right in this godless world we live in. Don't give up. God is working through you to get the truth out and warn people about the darkness that Satan has clothed in light. When I became a born again Christian many years ago, my family turned against me for many of the lifestyle changes I made (for example, I quit going to the movies). They said it was extreme and that I was a legalist. Today, I have backslidden in my faith and I long for the peace and joy I had during that time of whole-heartedly following where the Lord lead. God is leading me back and I am grateful to see your strong conversion and faith. It's a reminder to keep fighting the good fight and hold fast to the truth, regardless of what others say.

I avoided watching this video for months because I didn’t want to believe that the Yoga class at my gym was spiritual. But I noticed this past week the instructor spent almost double her “normal” time in meditative poses and then hearing you explain hatha yoga I was so convicted. It sucks because I need stretching for my back and nerve problems and my gym doesn’t offer many classes that are slow stretches aside from yoga. I will be trying the Barre class next week instead. Thanks to you, Doreen Virtue and Steven Bancarz I finally understand it’s not just exercise.

I got healed of a bad back pain that no matter what I did, and how many people prayed did not go away, when a realized I had believed in a false Jesus. It was the shock of my life because I had been a believer for decades, been active in church and reading my Bible regularly. Once I repented and broke any agreement I have made with that false Jesus, my husband commended it to leave me, I was completely healed. It is two years now. It was that simple, no drama.

I eagerly await your next episodes. God has certainly made lemonade with lemons as it relates to your material over time. Thank you and keep fighting the good fight. I do my best to promote your podcast when I can. One suggestion. Your podcasts are very long. Rightfully so, but there is a trade off. Once you get your studio fully functional and eventually get more time to dedicate to the productions, consider also offering 5-20 minute topical clips from each podcast. Kind of like Dave Rubin does with his show. Those bite sized clips are so much more forward-able if that makes sense. Blessings to you and your ministry!

Yogic postures are called "Asanas" - Asanas serve to activate and manipulate the flow of "prana" (life force) throught the body and it's "Chakra system". The Chakra system is referring to the arrangement of seven vortexes of prana that enter the body. That is what the Asanas of Yoga do - they are intended to treat and correct the flow of prana in the Chakra system. That's it. This is all rooted in the Chakra system. Just as cardio exercise is intended to improve the heart and respiratory system, Yoga is intended as an exercise to improve the Chakra system. If you do not believe in the Chakra system, there is absolutely no reason to engage in the Asanas.

I throw tarot cards which that was my weak spot, pendulum which also was the hook that got me, and when I threw it all something vanished from my apartment, for 3 days I kept asking “what if God doesn’t show up and i’m left alone?” I realized how much I was leaning and trusting this and has God behind, left in my bookshelf. I had horrible dreams, of the devil that had me in his palm of his hand and I realize I was in trouble. God did come to me, since then I’ve been sleeping better, i’m not as anxious, I am learning to trust. your content is great, didn’t notice issues with audio, and you have so much wisdom that’s all it matters. Thanks for making this video. I'm just beginning my journey in considering all of this stuff. New Age is a broad category. I don't feel the same concerns about yoga as I do about tarot or witchcraft practices. I've watched quite a few Christian testimonials. I have not seen any that showed any negative paths from just a yoga practice alone, but did find lots of videos discussing yoga as a gateway or yoga combined with crystals, psychedelics, tarot, etc. I have done plenty of yoga but never had that feeling of it causing issues in my life. I was planning to start back up, but I'm gonna take pause and ask God for some clarifying answers. I have a deep respect that you invite people to explore this for themselves. For now, I'm following Christ and just leaving other stuff alone until I know what feels right moving forward.

Thank you! This message is SO needed in these times when evil is at its greatest, saturating society, yoga is being jammed down our throats everywhere…even by churches! Christians, do not be fooled. Most yoga practitioners do not know about the intent or motivation of their instructor or guru. The positions in yoga originally had a spiritual meaning. Several yoga positions were developed as a means of physically inviting a god/demon to be in union with you. Some yoga centers actually have images of Hindu gods, which should make you more wary of the intent of the instructor or guru. Christians need to be aware that yoga was never intended to be an exercise or relaxation program!! It was developed as part of Hindu spirituality. Yoga is considered one school of authentic Hinduism. The word yoga means: ‘to yoke together’ or ‘to bind.’ With what does yoga seek to bring us into union? For some practitioners of yoga, it is a vehicle or tool to bind them to one or more of the Hindu gods. For a Christian, this is highly problematic, since there is only one God! For other devotees, the goal of yoga is to unite oneself with a “higher reality” or what might be termed “infinite consciousness.” This presents another set of problems for the Christian because it is a form of pantheism, where everything is considered divine and there is no distinction between spiritual and material realities. But even if none of these beliefs are espoused in a typical yoga class, question the prudence of participating in yoga classes when you can receive the same benefits from other exercise or fitness programs! And, Anyone who has ever encountered a holier-than-thou yoga practitioner will not be surprised by the findings of a new study that found regular yoga and meditation practitioners experience a surge in ego just after a session. That is not Christian. It might be because their yoga class isn’t deflating their egos like yogis say it should. And, you can’t justify it by taking a Hindu practice, throwing some Christian music in the mix and call it worshiping the one True God. This isn’t the way God asked us to worship Him. Indeed, in Deuteronomy 12:31 the Lord specifically warns us not to worship Him the way the pagans do. Just go to a gym that practices regular exercises. Put on Scripture readings or audio books or talks & be protected & healthy & away from demonic spirits of false gods of the hindu religion. God bless you.

Everything looks great! For audio, look for a noisegate in your recording software. It will allow you to create a threshold and cut anything else out under that. Your mic is picking up your voice and the sound of the room (echo). Also, look for something called compression. This will help the softer words become louder and the louder words become softer so your volume is consistent. I'm in Nashville too and wish you good luck!

Santa Clause is not a sorcerer that brings gifts. Read about St. Nicholas, his story is where Santa Clause comes from. Anything good can be perverted, that is the definition of evil. It is the perversion of goodness. Just like witchcraft is the perversion of the supernatural that has not been given to us. Witchcraft is stealing and manipulating spiritual things that God has said are forbidden.

Come to find out i still had a kundalini spirit in me it was agreement i had to break it was crazy when i did self deliverance from it i even bleed from my throat. Now all i do is go to the Gym and stretch simple stretching and i feel so much better and energetic from that then yoga and i also dont have any lower back pain anymore i suffered from back pain for many years that's what had originally got me in to yoga to help "heal" my back and it never did and i actually ended up with very bad sciatica it was the worst pain I've been in it happened to me twice .

Loved this video! I had the kundalini experience and its very real. I thank God every day for saving me.❤
About nine years ago, I was fighting a major battle with clinical depression. I decided to take a beginner's yoga course. While the physical exercise was beneficial, the heavy spiritual overtones later became apparent and demonstrated that yoga's spiritual emphasis cannot be separated from its exercise component. Furthermore, the yoga instructor decided to go full-throttle and introduce Kundalini (!) to the course; a week or so prior to this boneheaded move, I dropped out of the class.

God bless you sister for this info and your efforts and bravery to bring the truth out. Yoga positions align you with divinities from other planes...and those entities are not benign or benevolent...on the contrary, they crave to possess a body, as spirits with no legal authority to be here they need the physicality of a human body to manifest here and spread darkness in this world. Yoga tunes you to their spiritual frequencies and makes you more receptive to their harming influences. Beware ...there is a reason there is a meditation room in the United nations and also for pushing meditation as a safe practice worldwide. The same people who are satanists in the elite push meditation as healthy along with yoga. Jesus says in the bible to avoid praying with vain repetitions and these practices are full of mantras with repetitions etc. In fact when you leave your mind empty you become a vessel free for these entities to enter. thanks for existing sister...may God lead your path to his busom for what you are doing as a young woman. I also used to do yoga as a believer and never listened to the warnings I got from others and my intuition. God had to give me a dream one night that freaked me out for me to get it through my head. ..I was taken by Hindu gods to a warehouse one night that was filled with hundreds of Hindu gods. I heard music and someone singing on a stage in a distance. I saw the Hindu god shiva on the stage and I asked who that was (somehow I didn’t know in my dream) and a Hindu god I was with said that was the devil and he is singing this song for you. As soon as he told me that, I saw shiva looking directly at me in the stage, our eyes connected, and it was like he was looking through me …. And it freaked me out. Then I woke up. And never did yoga again and never had another dream about Hindu gods. God usually speaks to me through dreams to get His message across. I view it as God’s compassion for me.

It goes against our faith and I’m not comfortable with it and neither is my daughter, she’s 10 btw. I was just saved from the occult so I know the agenda behind and it’s not as innocent as ppl may think. I do know that prayer works and the Lord is faithful, so will y’all help me pray against this? However, the physical side of it was amazing. Recently I found a "Power Stretching" program created by a crossfit athlete. When I started taking that class, I realized it was very similar--she says "chatturanga" and "hands to hearts center", but thats about as yoga-y as it gets verbally. There are no meditations or OM-ing, there are flows, but none of the typical ones I did back then. Do you think thats okay? I LOVE the stretching and 1000% was looking for led stretching that was specifically NOT yoga

@Angela Ucci I am new to your channel(s), but not a new Christian. This is the first I've heard of the yoga rooted in evil. Not that I'm questioning you and your research or anything. I believe you. I just have a question. I have never been to a "yoga class", never had a yoga teacher, and definitely never been one myself. The most I've done is just a few on my own in my own living room. Not with sage or incense, or crystals! Not even a yoga mat, lol. The only poses I would do is cat, cow, and downward facing dog, and child pose. While in labor with may babies, I would do cat cow repeatedly for the comfort it brought through the transition phase. I never did any chanting, don't know about the chanting. Never did "om". Just deep breathing. I never really even had a routine or ritual of doing it daily or anything. Just when i felt like it. Some times that was as often as evry day, but mostly it was every few weeks or so. My question is this: are these poses rooted in evil as well? And was me doing them bad and partaking in evil they might represent? And also, should pregnant women never do cat cow poses?
@ninakamenic36792 жыл бұрын
Yoga itself being evil is absolute nonsense. I'm sure that every spiritual practice can be used in negative ways. Just look at all the pedophile Catholic priests to see an obvious example of that. Does that mean that Catholicism is evil? Of course not. Many regular, basic yoga poses are exactly the same stuff that is done in pilates, or regular stretching exercises before more intense forms of exercise. The incense burning, christals and all the woohoo stuff isn't necessary. Yoga is about you and your body and mind coming into the present moment, for various purposes. It's not inherently evil.
@gaurishetye1822 Жыл бұрын
There is no evil in doing any stretches or asanas. The advanced form of yoga is not to be done without the guidance of experienced Yogi. By doing simple yoga you are not praying to any god. Doing yoga and breathing excercise relaxes the mind and body.

The problem with trying to understand Hinduism is that it has many many forms and if you get an explanation of what Hinduism is from a Hindu person, they will tend to view the other forms through the lens of their own particular form. Another problem is that "Yoga" refers to many different practices and not all of them involve poses.
@NightHawkWatch9 ай бұрын
"If the vine is Hinduism, then the fruit is yoga. Therefore, if the vine is yoga, the fruit is idolatrous. It is idolatrous false worship that is explicitly condemned in the Word of God. The vine of paganism cannot produce holy fruit. Yoga is not a physical practice with spiritual benefits. It is a spiritual practice with physical benefits.” Thank you, Angela, for your thorough treatment of this subject. There’s another Bible passage that came to my mind during this video. Daniel 3, the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. They were not the only Jews in Babylon at the time, yet they were the only Jews who stood up for what they believed by choosing not to bow down to the golden idol. Perhaps there were others in the crowd who said to themselves, “I will have to bow down to save my own life but in my heart I will not worship this idol and God knows what’s really in my heart so it will be okay. Bowing is just a position of the body anyway.” However, these people were not remembered before God in the Scriptures for their faith, only Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego were because they knew what bowing down really meant: Worship. They didn’t know God would deliver them from the fire but they were prepared to lay down their lives anyway for their faith and their striving against sin. So the question for us is, are we willing to take up our crosses to follow Jesus? (Luke 9:23). Will we go to that point of shedding blood in our striving against sin? (Hebrews 12:4).

Pilates practioner over here. JP was far from religious. Tbh, one of his goals was to make Pilates/fitness as enjoyable as sex so that people would enjoy doing it. There’s nothing spiritual about Pilates, and JP was all about efficiency in his moves and workouts. He also strongly advocated for the strengthening of the core and spine to have an improved quality of life, better movement, and to live with less pain. Please look deeper into the Pilates method. It involves mat work, reformer work, tower work, and the use of many other apparatuses and props. It feels much more rehabilitative, or like a physical therapy session than anything spiritual. You do bring up an important point though. Too many people are out there calling themselves Pilates instructors, but then their workouts are 90% yoga moves. It’s really disingenuous, and they shouldn’t be allowed to teach Pilates. Too many instructors want to combine the two, and I wish they wouldn’t, as it just adds to the confusion. Most people who think they’ve practiced Pilates probably haven’t, honestly. It’s like when people call Portuguese Spanish. They may have similarities, but they are so different from each other.

All of this sounds EXACTLY like the ceremonial rituals that she's bashing since she became "saved by Jesus". Why are your suggestions good ideas for ceremonial practices, but burning incense or using christals are bad bad bad demon things. It's exactly the same thing. So it's either both good, both bad, or maybe it's neither good nor bad and many of you who live in constant fear of this stuff are paranoid and need mental help from a professional. This chick has been "searching for salvation" from her own depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts for more than a decade, constantly getting into something new and fresh. She herself said that initially all of these things made her feel like she had found a solution, only to realize after some time that, really, she hadn't found anything. I'll bet you in a few years she'll feel the same about Jesus, when it's stops being fresh and after she runs out of new things to obsesses about in yet another religious/spiritual option she's experimenting with. She has mental issues and she needs to seek professional help, instead of trying to constantly help herself and others without having any idea about how and what to do. She's been a "Cristhian" for less than a year, and she already thinks she fit to preach about it on KZbin, just like she thought with those other practices before. She's still doing the exact same thing, only not with yoga but with Jesus stuff. Plus this also brought her more audience than anything before, so she must have thought: alright, if that's where the following and a potential business lie, that's where I'll go! 😅🤣

So great this video showed up in a timely manner. I'm an ex newager and i saw your testimony. Recently I've been in pain and i feel like stretching would help fix it so i started contemplating doing Yoga. I know what it is but what alternative do i have. I asked God, is there a way i can do this without compromiseing myself. So I guess this is my answer. God will provide 🙏 as you were saying the Indian statement about Yoga and freedom it made me think. New agers WANT freedom from the Law (responsibility etc) , they just don't understand the only way to have freedom from the Law is through Christ.... another way to answer the whole 'Christianity isn't true because it's new' argument is that Christ walked the earth 2000 years ago but Judaism goes back further, Christ is the fulfilment of the Jewish story. So there's that.
