I'll just leave some food for thought here: I know we have to survive, maybe even feed a family, but consider the ethical implications of youtube automation. I believe that making this kind of content has a negative impact not just for youtube (in a way who cares, there are many other video sharing platforms) but more importantly for humanity. Now, this might seem like a long stretch, so let me give some context based on my own experience. Please bare with me. I've learned quite a few things by myself since I started using youtube when I was a kid. I take a lot of enjoyment and pride in being self taught, and youtube is a very helpful platform to self teach a skill. It started with making guns out of legos, solving a rubik's cube, simple things like that. Eventually I learnt more impactful skills like making electronic music, composing, drawing as well as day trading and other topics related to finance and growing your own capital. Having learnt so many things, I realized something about using a platform like youtube to self teach a skill. The information that is displayed at the top of the search results on youtube is shit information. It doesn't matter what skill or topic you're trying to learn, the people at the top of search results virtually always give false information at worse, and mediocre information at best. The reason behind this is simple. The people that are truly knowledgeable on a topic, to the point of giving away the right information, and also teaching it correctly are in 99% of the cases not bothered to spend the countless hours it takes to be good at marketing their content, because they're busy honing their skill in the topic they're teaching itself. On the other hand, a lot of people who have barely any background in a topic might invest countless hours in learning marketing, sales and promoting their content. This means that when you look up "how to invest beginner course" (for example) The first results aren't from the people that are actually knowledgeable in the topic, and that actually want to help you. The first results are dominated by people whose only talent is in making their video appears first so they can get the most views. I have learnt many things such as art, finance, fitness, etc. I can guarantee you that all the good information is buried behind an endless stream of well marketed content, while the hidden gems coming from people with a good heart simply trying to help humanity by spreading true knowledge get barely any attention. Now, i'm not gonna ask you to just trust me on this. So let me give examples of channels who give real information on selected topics, who actually want to help you grow your skill, and who are not necessarily the best at marketing (feel free to check out their channel if it's a topic you're interested in because they legitimately have some of the best information out there): Day trading/crypto investment -> Cyprx superior trading (21k subs) Calisthenics -> Valentin OTZ (10k subs) Spirituality/metaphysics -> Nulyfetools (80k subs) Sound design/sound engineering -> asd (23k subs) Composing resources -> Cory Pelizzari (8k subs) Gym/fitness -> Natural Hypertrophy (109k subs) These channels' strength is not their marketability, impressive growth or some shallow metric. Their strength is the quality of the information they provide. My skill in the related topics only skyrocketed when I found these channels (and others like that). The information I was getting from mainstream channels was keeping me down and blocking my growth. A lot of the mainstream channels taking the spotlight were automation type channels. You'll notice that despite these channels giving away some of the highest quality information, almost none of them have surpassed 100k subscribers let alone 200k etc. And that is the case for almost all of these channels. This trend of having good information buried underneath cascades of useless entertainment has gotten worse every year from my own biased experienced. I believe that all information should be free and accessible to all to allow humanity to grow faster as a species. Right now it is the case for the most part, at least this is the furthest we've ever gotten to allow free access to all information. Yet, ironically, this opportunity to skyrocket our spiritual progress, this opportunity to heal and grow from our mistakes, well, it's being overshadowed by the gargantuan monster that is useless, brainless, entertaining content. I could digress much further and give much more details about the connections between this issue and the resulting damage on humanity as a whole, but it's a fucking youtube comment so I'll stop myself right there. Still, I've come to understand that the only way to change the world positively is to change oneself positively. So consider this when you're looking for a way to make money. Consider the consequences that it has when a vast amount of people make the same choice as you. Making useless youtube content and burying good information even deeper isn't the only way to make passive income. If you're smart enough to have stumbled here, then you're smart enough to find a route toward financial freedom that doesn't involve the slow yet catastrophic destruction of information quality on the internet. Consider letting the spotlight to one of these underrated channels who is genuinely trying to help people.

Hey, fellow self-taught music producer myself I get that your primary concern is good quality info being drowned by good marketers with mid quality info. But, I genuinely don't see the cause for concern here. I've never heard of asd and Cory, so I can't really comment on the expertise in their particular fields. But, I looked them up and asd has 18 videos and around 22k subs. That's actually a pretty good ratio, especially for a channel about sound designing. Not to mention, YT is a free platform and when people use it acquire a particular skill or learn about things that actually help in life instead of mindlessly scrolling, they're losing nothing, even if the information isn't necessarily the best/correct, since they can watch an unlimited number of videos. I'd see this as a problem if you were paying for an online course or smth and not getting the best info out there, but it's fine on YT. Lastly, I think we are only as good as our ability to adapt. I could be an expert in Ableton(just an example), but it'd immensely help to have a decent grasp on the KZbin algorithm and such. I'd encourage more people to learn to acquire multiple skills in life. They may come in handy Just my 2 cents

@@nayanmanjunath2406 Thanks for your reply! I agree that everyone should adapt as best as they can, but realistically if you give high quality information, you can't do it at a consistent pace. The sort of pace youtube wants, to consider you worthy of being promoted to home pages and the likes. I've noticed that being a good youtuber is directly disproportional with being a good teacher that spreads quality information. I have yet to witness a channel that's really good at marketing and promoting their content whilst giving high quality information. I've quickly reread my comment. If I come across as arrogant or demeaning or something like that please keep in mind that I'm writing this comment like I would write a public speech. I'm genuinely trying to be persuasive and firm. I'm gonna give two more specific examples of why I am personally concerned with this issue. First one is with making music. When I was a beginner and I looked up the very obvious "how to make my music better" or something along those lines, it took me ages before finding those underrated videos that actually give good advice. Most videos in the search results of this very important query that virtually all musicians end up looking for were "5 tips to make YOUR music STAND OUT", "How to have a CLEANER mix than EVERYONE ELSE", "Follow these 5 STEPS or guaranteed streams" and so on and so forth. Since you're a producer yourself I'm sure you can understand the issue of telling beginners that making better music means making more marketable and streamlined music. It legitimately took me years before I started to find videos showing the more profound perspective on art, where the point is to be honest and express yourself, to have a unique style that isn't necessarily surgical, perfect and clean, but that has soul and character. I eventually came to that conclusion by myself, but not everyone spends enough time reflecting to understand that treating your art like a brand is long term spiritual and artistic suicide. It would've helped if the results at the top of the search bar were not from good marketers but from master artists who understand the realm of art on a deeper level and seek to positively influence the art world. In fact, in the future, I will make my own videos where I hope to share my perspective on many of the problems artist face. Now for this to make sense, you have to bare with me. Artists are some of the most powerful beings on this planet. We have the power to influence humanity on such a deep level because art bypasses the mind and heads straight to the heart and spirit. We ALL have the ability to make art that can enrich the listener and leave them a more enlightened and soulful being. We have the power to push forward humanity song by song, poem by poem, painting by painting. But we choose not to. Because we're stuck in our outer layers of ego. We make art for the sake of money, fame, recognition, notoriety and so on. We've lost that precious connection from our heart to the listener and we corrupted it with the middleman of human ego which makes decisions not for the benefit of the artist and the listener but for one's own self gain. And most artists are not aware of this spiritual and artistic warfare. They are stuck in these lower dimensions of thinking where an artist is a showman who's supposed to grow his brand. The mindsets and principles required to maintain the grip of the human ego on art are neatly provided by all these channels making marketable content. Beginners find them first and mold their beliefs based on what these guys say, and most of them never dig deep enough to ever realize they're being mislead. The content machine that is youtube is not allowing the true information that seeks to help artists and humanity to raise to the surface and it gets buried underneath content that misleads new artists. The immense transformational power of artists is being repressed because of this. Another example is with spirituality. When you look up any sort of spiritual topic the same issue arises. It's all bullshit information. Why do you think there's so many crystal girls and """empaths""" etc? It's because spirituality is being corrupted with the mainstream, the same way artist content is. Now most people equate spirituality with owning crystals, yoga, avoiding all negativity (to the point of destroying yourself) and astrology. In reality, those who have dug deeper than the surface know that spirituality is not about being a hippie. Spirituality is about letting go of all fear so that you can pursue you deepest purpose. It's about understanding the reality of the world and preparing yourself against dangers such as oppression from a tyrannical system, knowing how to defend yourself against someone trying to harm you, becoming a man fearsome enough to protect your family and your belongings. It's about understanding and being compassionate even in the face of the most disgusting beings. It's about loving and respecting others and being in harmony with your environment. it's about transforming yourself inwards so that you can positively affect the whole world outwards. People who have fully gone down the rabbit hole of spirituality and metaphysics know this and can recognize how corrupted and mislead the "mainstream" spiritual community is. A lot of the people making this content appear almost as clowns because they so confidently spread information that is mediocre at best. And there you go, once again a topic of enormous importance being disgustingly corrupted because of the content machine. Either way, have a good day and thank you for your constructive reply.

I've done KZbin automation for a few months now. Not gonna lie, I first thought if I make a few cool videos, I would go viral and make easy money. But it is nothing like that. It's like a real business. You must put in the work and provide value through quality videos, branding, steps, processes, and systems, just like any other business. Ultimately, if you love content creation, remain persistent, and know how to play the game (ie. know how to make videos, thumbnails, titles etc. well), you will be successful. I first struggled and made many mistakes, but realized I really enjoy making content and wanted to get better and monetized, so I kept going. KZbin automation is not inherently bad, but it's very easy to fool someone to thinking it is easy money. Ultimately, only the persistent and passionate survive in this field, just like any other area.

1:28 i had over 10k subs back in 2009. I didn't really cared about youtube and monetization wasn't a thing (yes, google ads existed, but was different). I only dumped my video games records on youtube, for my friends to see them. When they introduced the newer back then (2009) copyright strike, same video got 3 strikes at same time and channels went down. But I didn't bother, because youtube wasn't a thing for me. I was just playing games, listening to music and recoding my screen. No talk, no webcam. Songs I was listening to, got the copyright strike. Back then copyright holders could not play ads on your video, if one of your videos had their music or whatever. This was introduced later. And I remember making few more yt channels back then. it wasn't required to have a phone number, so u could make like 10 in a day and nobody would question you

Excellent video. I started KZbin "automation", but I didn't now the truth then. It actually is really, really hard. Despite that, I happen to be pretty decent with visuals, art and words, and I can learn new software quickly. I think my thumbnails, scripts and visuals are pretty decent for an amatuer. But I realize if I'm ever going to compete with the "big boys" I'm going to have to shell out $$$ to the pros, and I'm not sure I'm prepared to do that, or if I ever will be. That's not what I got into this to do. I got into this to be able to do something on my own to make money. Not sure where to go next with all this info. Thanks for being honest and transparent.

I know you said compilation channels don't get monetized, but I'm not sure if you are talking about just taking shorts and putting them together or if you are talking about "top 10 microphones to enhance bass in your voice" as an example.

some feedback on the thumbnail, I couldnt really tell the playbutton was broken from afar! maybe add broken concrete materials on top to better show it being broken in half, other then that great video and thanks for the insight!

Your videos have quality, I always liked this style, but the reason why this channel in particular grew so fast is because it's a channel (another) on how to make money, kind of easily with AI and other free tools. All the channels about making money (online, with youtube, with any social media platform, blogging, etc) have a huge despaired audience...

I get it when you say study the competition bc this video is just like the Dar Lucey video. You studied his video and did his exact format down to the same jokes and everything lol That's hilarious

The term KZbin automation reminds me of passive income, as they are both never going to be 100% hands off - and simple as some gurus want us to believe...
