Fishing is meditation to me. Meditation is doing something without expectation of anything in return and just to be present in the moment. I truly love the feeling of a fishing rod in my hand and just casting and working the baits. You can’t go into a fishing trip with any expectation at all, or you will disappoint yourself. You have to go into each and every trip with the same level headed not expecting anything mindset. It’s truly therapeutic

as a beginner bank angler, this video really means a lot. i went through a a few months where getting skunked was the default. i was lucky enough to catch a one or two here and there to keep me interested, but it was always a struggle and things got extremely frustrating. my patience eventually paid off and the skunk streak finally broke. all the information i had gathered from experienced anglers and fishing youtube channels like this one gave me the knowledge and confidence to keep on going. thank you Tyler!

Just NAILED my struggle. A couple months ago, I picked up a rod again for the first time in YEARS. I went to my local pond and caught 5 bass. The next time was 2 then it was zero and then it was weeeeeeks of nothing. I feel your pain.

Just got back into bass fishing(haven't been fishing in general since 2010) and i had some pretty hard days over the last month. Experimented with jigs colors and rigs. I learned so much from KZbin vids and talking to fellow fishermen. Learned bass behavior and now im crushing it. Slow days aren't a problem anymore, i understand that thats just a part of fishing. The video is just confirmation, its always good to know we are not alone.

From my experience, catching bass in the heat of summer is just as challenging as catching them in the coldest parts of winter. In fact, I believe catching bass in the winter may be easier than this time of year. At least in the winter the bass are more grouped up and in predictable locations (ends of main lake points, bluff walls, 45 degree riprap banks, etc.). Also, fishing pressure is substantially less in the winter. For sure, hot summer days can be a grind to catch fish.

Ty, i love your content from the straight fishing to your tips and tricks and videos like this. I get skunked all the time, i fish Lake Hickory, in Hickory, N.C. which isn't known to be the best bass fishing but there are some good ones in there!! This video right here makes me feel validated for all the times i go out and fish all day, power, finesse, all softener kinds of cover, shallow, deep, and throw every bait and lure in the box and still come home empty handed. It's nice to know even the pro's have days like that too. You're awesome man keep up the great work!!

Thank you for the video. What a breath of fresh air it couldn't have came at a better time for me. I have really been struggling and after having really high hopes for this summer after doing so well last summer. I've gone three times in the past week and after coming up empty the first two times I actually woke up at 3:00 in the morning and went to fish some rip-rap for a couple hours before i had to be at work. I only got one bite on a top water. ... So I'm probably about to leave and go again until I catch at least one.

@@DFWdarin if you are on a kayak man go look for shallow to mid deep water holding a lot of grass. From 5am to about 7am you are almost guaranteed a top water bite during the summer. After 7am start throwing a keitech swim bait. Like a 3.3. The bass in my lake eat smaller bass and bluegill. So I use the 3.3 or 3” AYU and bluegill pattern swim baits. Cast them into the grass an let them fall. You’ll definitely get a bite on the fall ! I don’t know what state or lake you fish but I hope that helps.

The wind has started to die down though now so I should be able to venture off into more grass flats yeah thank you for the advice I think it's going to help I definitely do that I was throwing a mag draft I think it's a little too big even the 6-in. After summer solstice last year I did so well with the Cinco and with the floating salt crawl I just thought for sure this year I would demolish them I did catch a pretty good one about 6 lb on a rattle trap during the fall. I have a deeper depth finder I using my kayak and I've located some pretty nice little bluffs and grass humps.

And got nothing. I fished 5 hours and finally switched to a zoom bubble gum worm Texas rig and caught two dinks Completely convinced I’d go catch again some huge fish. Really crushed my confidence and I just keep at it .

I will be 79 this month. On my last 4 trips I have caught zero bass. I mean not even getting a decent strike! I fish a spotted bass lake I am told is loaded with spotted bass. Two days ago I had bait fish all around me and could see bass feeding. But, I never got a hit. I tried different lures matching the hatch, but to no avail. I have fished large mouth all my life. I moved to Birmingham and the closest lake is this spotted bass lake. Few large mouth but I am too old and unstable to stand and flip. So I have to rely on sitting and casting. I appreciate this video because it is good to hear, "Don't give up, you are just having a bad run." But at the ramp guys are telling me they aren't catching anything either. So cannot understand why I am having a hard time catching fish. But I will go again next week, this time by myself to stay focused.

An idea for a video…I live in the Phoenix AZ area. As you know it gets quite hot in the summer during the day. I really enjoy fishing so when I go I like to stay out for a while. The heat makes that hard during the day so I go out late in the afternoon, I catch the evening bite, fish all night, and then catch the morning bite before I head home. I would like to know what I can do to catch more bass at night, say between 10pm and 4am. I think this would be a great idea for a video, even if you aren’t able to fish that late, perhaps you could just talk about what people can do to catch bass this late. I’m not the only one on the water at these times. Thanks for your consideration.

I live in Cincinnati where there's more bass fisherman than bass. I have a seriously hard time catching bass in lakes because they're just too pressured in the parks around here. I'm a problem solver, so I started thinking how I could get around this. The best way to actually catch bass is going to creeks. They get far less pressure and you can pretty much figure out where they are. I'm talking about smallmouth mainly. If you haven't tried creek fishing give it a try. Even if it looks super shallow, there will be deeper holes if you walk a little bit

Excellent information it's true I've been fishing for 2 weeks and went to about 6 different spots and threw every lure I have and only caught 1 bass at about 2 lbs and that was on a strike king 7" green pumpkin Ocho Texas rigged weightless just in front of matted grass and pads in the shade that was it and I used this technique and area constantly and came up with nothing this month I just can't catch them, I live in central west Florida, the last decent bass I caught was in 2018 on June 12th under a bridge with the same set up at 9:30 at night it was 10 lbs 3 Oz's 23" long , ever since then a few 3 to 5 lb ers it's that all these lakes in the area are over fished and a lot of pressure so I'm really going to try the deep dive app , I've tried All the other ones like fish brain for example thanks for the info I'll let you know what happens keep fishing brother good luck hope you get a world record some day I'll keep in touch Andy B.

When people ask me how I keep going when they aren't biting, I tell them you can't catch a trophy with no hook in the water. Days when I struggle to catch a few are just as educational as the days I slay them, maybe more so. But the thrill of figuring out a pattern is the goal. I'm a major junk fisherman and that works in my favor. And for me, not a tourney angle, it only takes one really good fish to make any trip worthwhile.

Great video! I kinda needed it. I have just begun this hobby late last year so really this season is my first good fishing season. I caught one bass on my first trip but then on the next two trips nothing, not even a little one, let alone bass. My son caught a couple small bluegills/panfish (I really don't know my species yet) with live worms and mine kept getting eaten with no fish to reel in. I have tried Texas Rig, crankbaits, and bobbers for live worms with and without weight. I was starting to feel I am not really good at this, but your video does help. Now, one final question. I don't plan to invest heavy into this hobby so I don't plan to get a boat. Do you have some good overall tips for bank fishing? Less lures and how to fish more like how to move around and find good spots. Also if I should be fishing near the shore or casting out into open water. I find my problem since I am beginning if I cast or try to pitch/flip/cast I commonly get caught up in tree branches and end up losing my lures and breaking my lines. Thanks a lot for your continued content.
