Not a criticism of the overall video. If anything the inclusion of these examples detract from the argument in support of Johnny Depp.

This one. I hope the boys look back on this one. To reference and compare the police officer murdering a woman and the attached backlash to men in DA relationships not speaking up was bizarre. As mentioned, there was plenty of evidence against Chris, and there was Ronaldo’s statement on what he had done or felt he had done. This court case has been bizarre throughout, and I’m left thinking this was a stinking relationship both parties didn’t want to be in but also didn’t feel the need to leave. What I would say is what if even a small part of what she’s accused him of is actually true? The idea that someone can be accused of something with no evidence, nor a pathway back to acceptance in society is something I'm sure we all feel on some level. Truth is important, justice is vital, but knowingly false accusations are something which will hurt men and women alike; men will not defend women from harm if they are worried about accusations for doing so; women will not provide the balance to men that we need if they believe themselves to constantly be in danger from all men. We all need each other, and we need truth and honesty to form the basis of all our relationships. Thank you for this conversation, gents, truly important in today's world.

Something which didn’t sit right with me is that amber’s lawyer Ben Rottenborn (a good lawyer by the way, best on her side) said that Johnny depp calling amber a fat and a bitch etcetera when they are in arguments, was worse than when he was called ‘one eye’ when he was a child. The level of psychological effect is not the same at all, 11-13 year old having an abusive mother you would call him names because he had to wear an eye patch. It’s not a major thing but it just stuck with me.

@cdanielportista
@cdanielportista Жыл бұрын
Rottenborn is indeed a great lawyer, but the worst thing he said in the closing arguments was saying Depp smashing the cabinets IS domestic abuse, using that as THE evidence that confirmed Depp to be an abuser. My dad used to get drunk and smash everything, but never did he once touch my mother, me or any of my siblings. I watched the trial and there is not a single piece of CLEAR evidence indicating that Johnny Depp is an abuser.
@bradley4706
@bradley4706 Жыл бұрын
@@cdanielportista I didn’t see that part of his closing argument as I saw most of all of it in parts, but if that’s what he said then he is reaching. Stuff he probably bought is stuff he can break if he wants 😀. The reason why what I said in the original post is important is they are going to try and use the psychological/verbal abuse argument so they don’t need to prove the physical abuse. I don’t like that, because 1. I don’t see two couples arguing and calling each other names (albeit toxic) not really abuse, 2. She says in the op Ed that he physically abused her so I don’t think trying to evidence verbal abuse is enough. Lawyers job is to do whatever they can to get the win. It’s what their job is and we all would want a lawyer that does that. But if breaking cabinets = domestic abuse/violence then they are scraping the bottom of the barrel

The most hysterical part of Amber during this whole scenario is just the level of bad acting she's doing that makes you question how she's an actor in the first place. She's been seen pretending to write notes then smirking at one of her lawyers while he just shakes his head in shame, when she was 'crying' on the stand she couldn't even manage real tears for something as terrifying as abuse? Let alone her closing speech just half crying saying she just wanted to be left alone but every time Depps laywers made an objection she immediately just snapped out of the act to turn to them and be like "You interrupting my performance here?!". Just scary what must be going on in her head.

I think that she doesnt know that acting works in theatre, films and so on, but not in real life. She went for the wrong choice. Acting is not the same as lying. I mean, if you are gonna lie, you gotta act real, not like you are acting. That is why she comes across as so utterly fake. To me, everything she said is a made up story that she rehearsed in her head and delivered in an acting mode. In films, there would have been re-shoots, edits, close-ups or not... That does not happen in real life.

This trial is so popular because it's a high profile example of a staggering injustice. All of us have experienced, to varying degrees, injustices; and we want Johnny to get justice so we can at least "hope" that we might get justice too. On the other hand if Johnny, who seems to be overwhelmingly the wronged party here, can't get justice, even with all his resources; what hope for we "little people"? In my opinion, that's a big part of why so many people are so riveted by this trial. Also, *actual* survivors of abuse have an extra reason to empathize with Johnny.

@@pale_saint Yes, that too. There's a LOT of angles to this case that have significant implications for many, if not all, of us. No one should uncritically believe media narratives, especially after this. They can be mistaken, and they can lie. And they do both a lot more than people think.

Once these companies black list someone they never take them off the black list. I'm just glad that he finally got to show the world his side of the story. He didnt do it by writting an article or do it by speaking on a lengthy podcast. He took her to court, made sure it was televised and just let us listen and watch amber for 7 weeks. He never really had to say much on stand but it seems like amber had a lot to say on stand and most the time she kept getting caught up in lie after lie. The point made and examples given at 7:00 are so grim. For example in Ronaldo's case, how can you address and be annoyed about a potential false accusation but not him probably raping someone and getting away with it, which is far more likely? And how can you say "what do they have to lose?". Everything. Women who speak out against powerful men get a ridiculous amount of abuse and 99% of times they are telling the truth. Honestly, such a damaging opinion to have and share on a platform this big. Women need to be encouraged to speak out and they usually don't. They are even less likely too against a man who is powerful. Even when they do, they rarely get justice. Educate yourself.

The difference between the abuse for me; Amber is the perpetrator and Johnny is defending himself. He reacts to her mental torture and physical abuse which she’s admitted to on occasions and there’s recordings where she’s clearly down playing punching him, kicking a door at his head. Johnny Depp so far has said he pushed her away, and attacked furniture. It’s obvious she’s the one going after him and changing tact during conversation (trying out different stances and tugging on different emotions to see which works)

Amber saying everyone is lying on stand in favor of Johny wasn't a great take either imo. Fun fact is that she always said the op ed wasn't about Johny, but then in her closing statements she literally said it wa about him. She's so stupid ngl, how can 1 person cry so many times without a single tear? Also the fact she couldn't remember /recall anything when she was asked about it, but then when it''s her turn to talk she could remember every detail in the world. That's what u call a script.. Johny prolly ain't an angel either, but that's what a toxic relation gets you. But the things she accuses him for are just outrageous. No matter if he wins or loses, mans got his voice back and Camille is bae!
@Paddy.C
@Paddy.C Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I noticed that, one minute the op-ed wasn't just about Johnny, then under cross examination, she said that when Johnny used his power and influence in Hollywood against her, that's when and why she wrote it, to expose him. I was saddened by her sister Whitney. She's been beaten and abused by Amber, yet is always there, trailing around after her, like the Renfield to Heard's Dracula, or the Igor to her Victor Frankenstein (although Victor Frankenstein had more humanity and morals). Both of them should really be investigated for conspiring to pervert the course of justice, and perjury, but that won't happen.

I’ve been in a mentally and physically abusive relationship with a narcissistic man in the past and I 100% see these traits in Amber! I think anyone that has experienced this kind of relationship will also. The kind of women I’ve seen that are on “team” Amber are themselves also narcissistic, men haters that want her to win because they think that’s all men are good for money. Before the “pick me” comments come from bitter negative women, I’ve dated women only for the past 4 years I love women and to be perfectly honest I don’t particularly like men half the time they can be predictable pigs but I stand for what’s right, period. The evidence shows Jonny is innocent. The energy shows Amber is guilty. Energy doesn’t lie.

Amber Heard has done so much damage to women who are genuine victims. There were already eons of men who universally don't believe women and she just gave them a reason to keep thinking that. She claims she has ptsd ffs but exhibits none of the traits of a person who is afraid of her alleged abuser. The way she spoke to him on that recording wasn't a frightened victim. I can't imagine how anyone can support Heard.

I have to disagree with the “but someone made them this way so it’s not their fault narrative.” There comes a time where you’re an adult and you have to learn that actions have consequences. Saying “I grew up this way” or “I had a rough childhood” is no excuse. I can understand that it would make sense that you act that way because of it but that should never give you any sympathy or let alone a pass for you actions. If you can’t hold yourself accountable then you really need to rethink your own morals

I can absolutely tell ya anyone who's actually been through what Amber claims ain't supporting her. There's this weird kinda vibe that survivors give off that only other survivors can feel. I know it sounds mental or fantasy but it's defo a thing. It oozes out of JD and I just wanna sit near him and have him feel it, feel validated by it, whereas she offends my senses, my intellect, my emotional intelligence and the survivor in me. She makes my spidey senses go on threat alert.

That feeling is an odd one. I can only imagine that's what it feels like to "feel God" (I'm not a religious man, but I know that feeling of "when you know, you know" and assume that's what people mean) You can't describe it, but you just "know". She was just cold and mentally stuttering, no feeling of "knowing" about her.

All trials are public by default. That usually means cameras are permitted by request. If a media outlet wants to stream a trial, they just need to ask the court's permission in advance. The parties can submit motions for or against it, and the judge decides whether the public's right to observe the justice system at work outweighs whatever objections have been raised.

The thing about this case that, no matter who you believe, so many people have made a case about abuse into their entertainment. People posting thirst traps to amber describing horrific abuse? Even if she is literally reading from a script, that's unforgivable. So many victims are going to be ignored because this has set a precedent that abuse victims aren't to be believed and that women will lie just to ruin a successful mans career when 99 percent of the time that's not the case, and so many guilty abusers walk free because of that mentality already.
