Some of the other replacements felt like, I don't want to say a step down because adam for example was fantastic as time went on, but they were clearly not quite as iconic, and while Kat has some of that same problem, I do think they simply had a better plan in place (probably in part because Amy Jo Johnson told them she was leaving rather than just walking off) and therefore Kat is able to come in in a more well-realized way.

I couldn't agree more. Probably my one complaint with MMPR Season 3 was that I wanted more episodes, which I think is a good thing if you ask me. It's sad that this was the end of the MMPR Era (Which I LOVE So Much). And maybe more so than even MMPR Season 2 (Which I do love too), it really showed that Power Rangers didn't need to be extremely reliant on Super Sentai and it could stand on its own 2 feet. Ntm, I Loved episodes like Wizard for a Day, Ninja Quest, Friend in Need, Rita's Pita and Stop the Hate Master just to name a few.

This season did seem too short given how epic it felt. The whole season only aired in one half year which was strange but also what got us onto the February new series cycle. But think about this - take out the masked rider and alien ranger episodes and the season is only 28 episodes! I think they did it to give the cast and crew a break as they’d been filming non stop since the zyu2 episode filming days While the transition to zeo felt awesomely epic it always felt like things were unfinished here given turbo completely rebooted everything. It still really annoys me there was never a conclusion to this team vs Rita, zedd, and vile.

I loved Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers S3, it was the Rangers toughest test as Rita and Zedd were more victorious and Amy Jo Johnson/Karan Ashley leaving definitely stung. Oh let's not forget that Command Center explosion. Great video as usual, my friend!

Kat was always awesome, and being the first Ranger who was selected by another Ranger made her a bit more human in her episodes than most other characters. You didn't have to throw her in a billion civil service activities to show that she was a good person, like how they treated season 1. She had insecurities that teenagers can relate to, like her weight, indecisiveness about what she wanted for her future, and role on the team. I may not have liked her as much if she debuted in season 2 though, because they basically threw in the new Rangers out of necessity, which robbed them of personalities and emotional arcs. But she had some great moments.

I loved MMPR S3, I think it was refreshing and gave the show the realy soft reboot it needed with Rocky, Adam and Aisha joing the team. After they got the new powers, they fitted more in my opinion. Also mutch better zords, I didn't like the Thunderzords, I couldn't connect with them at all. Replacing Amy with Kath was getting used to, but no big issue. I think that also was refreshing for the show in general.

Here in Puerto Rico, Season 3 never aired. When the Turbo movie came I was lost because I had no idea who Kat and Tanya were. I didn’t get to see S3 until I was a teenager during the “Best of Power Rangers” on ABC family

I'd say one thing I really loved about season 3 was how they did Zordon's VA recording. It gave him more of a prescene in the command center in quite a few episodes.

I remember I grew to love and accept Aisha, Adam and Rocky by this season. I didn’t like Season 2 for some reason but after the movie I remember I went in to Season 3 with excitement, it felt like it was THEIR season now and were no longer replacements. Yes, Kim’s departure was a great loss but Kat’s addition worked amazing. Stories felt epic, it felt like a lot was in stake and I must say the season finale and the ending to move to Zeo was INCREDIBLE! I remember I was astonished!!!

I follow this channel and I can say that it is excellent. I was a kid when the Rangers were at their peak and I watched every episode. I read the comments and enjoy everything because you manage to bring me back to my childhood. As for the Rangers themselves, they were shown in Serbia until Rangers in Space, only after a few years did the TV companies buy the rights for the sequel. I feel very sorry for Tommy now that he won't be in the next movie where the old Rangers get together.

The visual history book is fantastic and I'm lucky enough to have one, picked a copy up online for less than £40 in 2021, but I believe it's not actively printed anymore and I recently saw copies listed for £100-£150, which is insane. I hope a newer up to date one eventually gets released. The second-hand market in Ranger Merch for almost anything is crazy levels of expensive.

Ninjor in particular has always been one of the most entertaining & coolest characters in the PR franchise to me. He looks cool & he’s funny. I wouldn't entirely agree that Might Morphin Alien Rangers has absolutely nothing to do with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3. It sees Rita Repulsa, and Lord Zedd returned to the role of the main big bad for a while, resolves the rangers being restored to their proper ages, and also addresses Ninjor's fate. Thus it resolves numerous plot lines Season 3 had left unresolved.

This was PEAK PR for me, season 3 is my favorite because it was the point where I loved PR the most (due to the movie). I really heartbroken Amy; my childhood crush left. Enjoyed seeing her as Susie Q shortly after but it was my first heartbreak. Won't be surprised if Amy leaving PR is the reason why I am gay now. 🎉😂 My next heart break came after In Space, Zordon dying 😢. Still have not seen PR since Zordon's end. The end of Zordon was the end of PR for me (until this 30th anniversary episode).

I remembered Ninjor from 1 or 2 episodes as a kid. When I went to watch the whole show in chronological order and it's entirety, I was definitely trying to figure out why Season 3 and the Movie overlapped. I figured the movie was just it's own thing but glad you confirmed that, I wasn't able to find much else on it. The power rangers started to lose their appeal to me when Jason left. Nothing against Rocky, but he couldn’t hold a candle to the presence Jason gave. Even with the sentai footage in the suits, it went from a commanding Red Ranger voice to a much to be desired warrior. The only cast member I liked from the new Red, Black and Yellow rangers was Adam.

While it is always disappointing to see and actor or actress go, the Kimberly character was getting to be too much of the damsel in distress. Almost always being the rangers weak link, with the exception of the last few episode of the green ranger. Kat did have big shoes to fill but she was more than good enough to do so.

Welp, I grew up watching both Masked Rider and Kamen Rider Black RX. They were broadcast in different channels here in Brazil (Fox Kids and Manchete, respectively). It was like night and day. I was too young so I didn't care much on why the shows were similar but different at the same time, but RX had more heart and was more entertaining overall. One thing I'd like to point out is that most english-speaking youtubers treat the super sentai shows as if they were a series with various seasons (like PR) but in fact Super Sentai is a genre, with various individual shows, like the "ninja sentai" you mentioned on the video (which is actually their monicker as the correct name is Kakuranger). Great video btw, looking forward for the next parts.

Feels like the producers learned their lesson from Jason, Zack, and Trini to Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. I grew to accept Adam and Aisha quicker than I did Rocky since Jason was one of my favorites growing up. To the point that whenever my brother and I would watch episodes, we would "rewrite" them so Jason was still on the team in the MMPR days (this would change come Zeo). Seeing as there was close to no build up to the turn over, I'm sure this was done to counter the back lash for Kimberly.

Replacing Jason was rough. I still think he was the best leader from the MMPR era. I loved Zach has his second in command too. Adam and Aisha won me over because both were great. Adam, in particular, became one of my favorite rangers. When he came back and helped Carlos during Power Rangers in Space that was epic. I think Rocky really came into his own when he became the Blue Zeo Ranger. I think part of the problem was they had made Tommy the leader already so Rocky was never supposed to really be a replacement for Jason. I think it would have been better had they been able to have Tommy come back when Jason left and have that transition there. But, obviously, behind the scenes issues kept that from happening.

It's when they dragged the series into the ground and were scraping the barrel clean with actual JPN Sentai footage. There were some fun whacky & outlandish ideas in there that i enjoyed, but i felt like THAT was when the show was losing serious steam. S1 & S2's first half right before Jason, Trini & Zack was when the show peaked > 1993 & 1994. Was never really a fan of S3, especially Alien Rangers and even the 1995 Movie. And Zeo? No thanks! Tommy over stayed his welcome and IMO, was only ever great as the evil green ranger. Once he went back to being good, he was too much of a nice guy kiss a**. His even green ranger haircut was much cooler than the pony tail he was rocking afterwards too.

I don’t hate season 3 but u did forget to mention the reversal of the order of the zords cause in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger what we call the Shogunzords that were our power up zord were actually that season’s original zords and our animal ninja zords were their power up zords and u didn’t mention the metallic armor that when activated turned Aisha’s yellow ranger suit gold also cause the show was to worried about continuity they didn’t use the ranger footage until the alien ranger miniseries used as transition from mmpr to zeo and zeo would be the first season in 2 seasons to actually use original Japanese ranger footage

Blame the Sentai footage. Although once Season 1 ran out of Sentai footage, they brought the Green Ranger back, albeit temporarily. I guess Tommy had to switch colours as the Zyuranger costumes mostly matched up with the Dairanger mecha (although the Lion Thunderzord's Sentai counterpart was piloted by a green Dairanger as opposed to Zyuranger's black) apart from the White Tiger and Dragon Ranger. So the change from Green to White makes sense. It would have been nice to see more Green Ranger action, but having so little of it kind of makes it special.

Kimberly leaving was indeed a sad moment...but by the time of her departure, I had already fallen in love with Katherine's accent. 😅 TBH, I had a feeling Kim would be leaving when Kat stuck around and was wearing pink so much...but I wasn't FULLY convinced, as I thought they may pull another bait & switch like with the whole Curtis/Richie thing. 😂 But they are both GREAT in the role, and I was happy either way. P.S. Season 3 is one of my favorites, too! I LOVED all the ninja stuff (wish we could've gotten more of it) and it has more of my favorite part of Power Rangers (again, that we don't get enough of nowadays): civilian battles! I love when the actors are given a chance to showcase their own abilities, and the martial arts part of the show is what originally hooked me anyway.

I wish they would have done the costume changes in Season 3. I loved the look of the costumes from that Sentai series that ended up being the suits of the alien rangers. I know it would have required some changes in ranger colors, etc (which would later happen in Zen), but I loved those suits. It just didn't make sense to have the rangers stay in Dino-themed suits anymore. I was disappointed they didn't change in the movie and then again in Season 3. Ah, well. I actually loved Kimberly's exit and Kat's introduction. I was sad to see Kimberly go, but at least she actually got a proper send-off. Which, in Power Rangers was not often the case. Masked Rider could have been a lot better. Looking forward to the next video!

Same here, changing the suits along with the cast would've made more sense, because the original five were so identified with the Zyu suits. Use the Dai ones in S2, then the Kaku ones in S3 (and not for the aliens).

The reason you didn’t hear Kat was the backup leader is because she WASN’T the back up leader. The ONLY reason Kimberly was the back up leader before Kat was because they didn’t want Rocky… a new face at the time… replacing Jason as the guy giving orders to the more familiarized Kimberly and Billy… so Kim and Billy both got bumped up three slots when Jason, Zack, and Trini left. After Kim left… Billy became the new second in command as he was the most experienced. THAT is why you don’t see people talk about Kat as a backup leader…. that was Billy’s role on the show at THAT stage in time… and not hers.

I stopped watching in season 2 when I was little. Going to Adam, rocky and Aisha was just boring. But season 3 gave the characters a background and life to the point where each had their own episode so you could learn about them. I also wasn’t a fan of the thunderzords, but I LOVED the Ninja and Shogun Zords. Having ninjor in the mix was also great. The production value was very good for a show made in 1995. The music, the choreography, was all amazing. Season 3 also felt more serialized, rather than season 2 which was just villain of the day.

I would love to hear about the BTS of all the seasons, it certainly gives you a different perspective on the characters and episodes, especially when you go back and rewatch a season and you're like "Oh yeah, that's right, they had to do *** (or "they couldn't have *** they did *** instead"), now that part makes so much more sense." 😁

you know, i thought of something as i finished rewatching the series last night... so... when Master Vile reversed time, did all the babies on Earth just fucking die or something? like, what? also, as for the season 3 hate you speak of at the end of the video, i truly don't understand it. i liked season 3 way more than 2, personally, though in my opinion the ending was quite underwhelming. to kids at the time it isn't that noticable, since the Alien Rangers just arrive a week later, but for me, who's about to binge Alien Rangers, it's like, "really?". i think Master Vile and the Metallic Armor would have been a better place to end out on, with Alien Rangers then airing the next week, starting with the whole time reversal scheme by Vile. i think the original series should have ended with their victory against the Blue Globbor / Ninja Globbor, especially since they defeated Vile as well in that battle, even scaring him enough to run away.
