@julianpetkov8320Ай бұрын
You are putting so much effort to stay on the Mainstream lane. There is no "credible Egyptologist" because the entire narrative is a Greek fantasy creation. The ruling Greek Oligarchs in England and France during the Napoleonic Era decided that they need an even more "Heroic" origin myth than the fantasy "Classical Greece" narrative they invented during the Renaissance Classicism. Have look at the concrete formwork marks on the Luxor columns and the very cheap and fraudulent stuccos which are peeling from them. The entire "Egypt" Theme has been literally dreamt up and plastered all over the ruins left by an unknown civilisation. The same as anywhere else in the world - sterile megalithic structures with no markings. Only the ones in Egypt and Mesoamerica are polluted with nonsense. Both under control by the same Greek powers for centuries.

Argument from incredulity, also known as argument from personal incredulity, appeal to common sense, or the divine fallacy,[1] is a fallacy in informal logic. It asserts that a proposition must be false because it contradicts one's personal expectations or beliefs, or is difficult to imagine. Arguments from incredulity can take the form: I cannot imagine how F could be true; therefore F must be false. I cannot imagine how F could be false; therefore F must be true. Arguments from incredulity can sometimes arise from inappropriate emotional involvement, the conflation of fantasy and reality, a lack of understanding, or an instinctive 'gut' reaction, especially where time is scarce.[2] They are also frequently used to argue that something must be supernatural in origin or even the contrary.[3] This form of reasoning is fallacious because one's inability to imagine how a statement can be true or false gives no information about whether the statement is true or false in reality

What I like about this channel and History for Granite is that you both consider the fringe theories and don't dismiss them straight away - but you won't blindly hang on to them when the evidence just doesn't fall in their favour. There are so many who boast that "I'm not a sheeple who believes in what the mainstream tells me" then they go on KZbin or Facebook and then blindly accept any far fetched theory without question and don't even realise how hypocritical they are. If they truly want the truth they should put as much effort into scrutinizing alternative theories just as much as the mainstream ones - but they never do this. I would love for something truly mindblowing and profound to be discovered in a pyramid, I even sometimes create artwork of ancient advanced buildings and artifacts - but just because I want something to be true doesn't mean it is.

I’ve noticed more legitimate scientists and archaeologists finally beginning to challenge some of these ridiculous claims people make about ancient history, and I love it and think we need more of it. When no one challenges these ideas, they just spread and more and more people believe these ridiculous things, and it just feels like the world gets dumber and dumber lol. Graham Hancock and UnchartedX videos are shared and spread all over KZbin and social media, but almost no videos are available where someone actually educated on the subject shows why they are completely wrong. Excellent takedown of this documentary. It would be interesting to contact the researchers who were quoted. I would not be surprised if they tell you they were quoted out of context, etc. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I learn otherwise. But there is a pernicious aspect to this: If a scientist appears on a popular TV show, there's a chance that their bosses at the University or Institute will look more favorably on them, because of the attention the story brings. These administrators know little of science. So it is always good to call out BS when it appears like this. Is this due to confusion with Herodotus' account? He describes colossal statues as rising from Lake Moeris that Lake Qarun is a small salty remnant of. These were said to be near a labyrinth and a pyramid connected to Amenemhat III (Senusret II's grandson?). It's likely he never visited the statues which were on the opposite shore of the lake from the pyramid but appeared to be rising from the water because of their pedestals. I believe he said the pedestals were pyramids but they survived intact and definitely aren't. Much of the modern oasis was underwater at one time, though. Likely not the bits with the pyramids, though. Probably not even the bits with the pedestals for the long lost colossal statues.

They weren't always "stolen". The tombs were breached and looted, leaving the mummy (most likely in pieces as robbers would have torn it apart looking for jewelry) in a undignified desecrated place. Thus people reburied them out if respect. Like think about it. If a mausoleum at your local cemetary was broken into and looted, the body thrown on the floor, they wouldn't just leave it open with the body there. Now, obviously they can reseal a mausoleum easily, but a pyramid...not so much. So they took the easier option of removing the body.

Mud bricks are very hygroscopic and would collapse under its own weight after absorbing the water.

Since the Pharaoh was a Nile flood water hydrologist chances are there was a water component in the area around the Pyramid. It just wasn't as extensive as that TV show suggests. You said that the enclosure wall was a composite of limestone blocks with mudbricks on top. Chances are whatever water was let into the area of the pyramid didn't go over the limestone blocks of the enclosure wall leaving the whole inside of the enclosure wall high and dry. Since the greater region around the Pyramid site is nearly geologically flat looking at it from a short distance away it would appear as though the water would run all the way up to the pyramid itself when in fact the water would be held back by the enclosure wall. And as for the water we're not talking of an ocean of it. At most it would of been a few feet deep and happen once a year when the Nile would flood. Which corresponds to a lot of the Ancient Egyptian's religious traditions. So yes, they probably had some water leakage to deal with but not as much as one would think. And since the Pharaoh was a water management specialist it wouldn't surprise me if there was a water management system built into the underground tunnels. Do you know if there is a well down there like some other Pyramids have?
@RedSkysAreOnFireАй бұрын
the wall was more likely to be there to keep the unworthy out than retain water, water weighs a lot, if you tried to work out the tonnage of water the wall would have to keep in then the bricks of the wall would be scattered all over the outside area of the wall

If the area flooded, and that's where this floating pyramid idea came from, then how was the pyramid able to be built, especially if all but the casing was mud brick and straw?

Honest "experts" may need to have a stipulation in their agreements that the show will portray claims based upon evidence. Disagreement and debate are a standard part of archeology and other fields, but outrageous claims easily disproven with basic facts have no place alongside interviews with genuine scientists and it may even damage their reputation for their participation to be used in such a manner. No legitimate archeologist would want their comments to be used out of context in a way that proposes a flat earth or alien construction of the pyramids. While such participants can't have total control over a show's content, they should have the right to retract their contributions after viewing the result, preferably before publication/broadcast. This type of content was once treated as educational, but now it's just another rivulet in the flood of misinformation now warping human minds.

Flowing water erodes faster than standing or slow moving water. Even a "mud brick" dike encircling the structure would reduce the impact of floods. I camp in all kinds of weather. With a shovel, I can dig a shallow trench around my tent and even direct rainwater away from my tent by using the dug up dirt to temporarily act as a dike to divert the direction of groundwater. Gravel or rocks in a trench promote drainage.. mud brick our even a dirt wall on top divert slow moving water enough because water flows to the "path of least resistance" I have a popup tent and a shovel.. These folks were building pyramids. Just seems like a logical solution. Be Well!! 😃

Among other idiocies of the "floating pyramid" is that they had extensive smaller pyramids/mastabas and facilities for the cult worship of the deceased ruler around the main pyramid. All of these would be under water under this "theory". Hey, just realized this proves the ancient Egyptians had SCUBA equipment!! I've got to start a KZbin channel. Hmm, how to explain how this worked given the water level which rose and fell a large amount during the year? Ah, the ancient Egyptians must have also had powerful pumps to keep the water level up when the Nile wasn't in flood stage. Wow, I've already made two major discoveries. In just 5 minutes. I am very SMRT!

10/10 - We know some pyramids were flooded more so in modern times, so we've seen water damage to subterranean chambers, Also Nubian Pyramids. I was unaware of "floating pyramid" & I agree with you, But let me put this idea forward Either Blue paint which is possible OR more plausible a Mirage around/from the pyramid giving it that name IF on record? Note the ? Because I'm unaware of any. I Am however aware of a record of the sphinx surrounded by water & boats going around it... But it never says if flooding or other, Also a lack of definition of, if going Around the sphinx, or the area of the sphinx. So the best record I could compare here just lacks information.
