It's not the original chipset. That's why the fake ones are only for example for 5/6 or soemthing. The original gets firmwareupdates by the host device.

I tried a lot of cables in my car to connect apple carplay. many cables had cut off time to time. but the original one never did. so, obviously the durability is not the only thing for original cable for sure. But I don't know what makes it different than the others.

Fake and Original are the same shit both are made to be broken easily.. u need to use any cable original or fake and open it (normal size USB side) and put a little more welding Tin on those contacts and then fill both parts with silicone USING a hot melt glue gun as i said both side and forming a cover for the circuits then holding it let it dry for around 5min and You will have a life time Lightning cord.. i made mine took me 30min or 40min i remember on first months of 2015 and im using it still working perfectly in my new iPhone.. (i used different cable tho the one that has Leds on both sides (because they protect the cord well and no much frictions while the cord is being enrolled ) it cost around 2$ on eBay i cut the Normal Size USB part (cause heat) and used a normal one without Led because it causes extra energy use affects when u connect to a computer . so yeah when u melt it and cover it with silicone that cable will last forever ) just keep one side of the led that connects to the phone.
