If you were to rent a HDB room in SG, you likely have to pay between $700 to $1,000 depending on the location. You are experiencing immediate savings on rental already. On top of that, free meals (at least dinners). So, if you find sweeping the floor a chore, then, buy a robot vacuum cleaner which can sweep and mop the floor for you. I am sure your bf and mother would appreciate your contribution. Remember to find out what your bf's mother like and surprise her on important occasions. This would enrich your relationship.

Your future mum in law seems a very nice person. There are many advantages of staying together. Really can help you save alot of money especially when you intend to buy a house soon. It all depends on what type of personality your mil is to conclude whether you all can stay together or not. My mil is very bossy, rude, authoritative and shows no respect to others. When I stay at her place, she behaves like she is the queen of the house. Everyone must listen to her. Scolds my maid, scolds my 配月，scolds me, checks my room, digs into my things. Though I rented out my own flat and saved quite some money, I really dislike her. When I bought another house, a much bigger one, we bought it quietly. Now we stay in landed, she 厚厚脸皮come and stay from Monday to Friday, I kept quiet cos she used to help take care of my children. But to permanently move in, no way!
