Nah Wade was valid for being disappointed in the lack of safety. We just witnessed a pro boxer die from the outcome of a professional sanctioned bout, and the co-main at that. Can only imagine what would eventually happen to an amateur fighting in a warehouse, entirely unsanctioned.

Usually when boxers get really injured like that in the ring it isn’t them getting knocked out cold and not getting up. Traumatic injuries are usually due to repeated hits to the head, or people getting knocked down repeatedly, and getting back up and sustaining more damage as a result. In these warehouse boxing matches where nothing is regulated, I can totally see someone who hasn’t trained enough getting knocked out and hitting their head wrong, or just taking repeated hits from a stronger opponent. It’s BECAUSE they’re untrained and unconditioned that it’s just dangerous. If you watched the stream too, the only fight without headgear resulted in a pretty nasty knockout. If it wasn’t reckless, then it would be A LOT easier to get these events sanctioned than it is. People will say it’s not dangerous till someone actually gets really hurt, and then these crossover events will be a lot harder to have.
