I found a local family owned pawn shop that sells gold chains for just a little over spot scrap weight price. I bought an 18" 10k hollow gold rope necklace that weighed 1.5 grams for $40. The scrap weight price on 1.5g of 10k gold is around $32.73. Does this concur with you? It seems most retailers I know have 100 or 200% mark up on their chains. Well the pawn shop gold chains are used too I guess. Thanks man.

Personally, I have never been to a Local Pawn Shop, but, I am aware that the people who go to trade their gold in for cash do so because they HAVE to get rid of their gold and NEED cash. I imagine the Pawn Shop Dealers will get the gold for a very low price and are still able to sell it and make a profit. For the Buyers who get gold chains from a Pawn Shop, I think they benefit because like yourself, you got your gold hollow chain at a very good price even though it is used. Honestly, I don’t think I mark up my pieces by too much. I charge around $38.00/gram because gold prices have gone up so much and that effects my cost of getting it from my Wholesalers so I choose to increase my cost as well 😃🙏 for those who support me and my family, I am thankful 😊🤝 Great deal on your chain though 😃🙌💯👏 Thank you again my Brother for commenting, yes!!!

Literally just picked my hollow chain up from the repair shop, I only had it for like 4 months and broke it like 6 times already, it gets stuck in my locs and breaks just from getting it out my hair, don’t get me wrong it looks good as hell but it’s not worth buying especially if you got long hair, I’m trying to get rid of it now cause I can’t keep repair this thing lol

It can last forever. Literally depends on how you treat it. If you wear it everyday, excersise in it. Take shirt on and off with it, sleep in. Your asking for trouble. But if you just wear it on like nice outings or situations where your not gonna get it caught on stuff. It can last forever. I have one and have not broke mine.

Hey tony, for the hollow chains i understand they are very delicate and light but since ive never owned one its hard for me to understand exactly how light it it. If i use this as a 24/7 chain is there anything i should worry about or do you think it will be just fine? Because i will obviously take good care of it but if im like taking off a shirt and accidentally pull the chain with it will that be enough force to snap it? And also when i take showers i use a bath sponge/ scrubby and feel like it would get caught on that and snap because it seems like with my scrubby it could maybe get tangled and caught up with the chain. I dont mind the light weight of the chain and if its durable enough for everyday wear, ill most likely get a hollow.

We have them in 1.5mm and 2.0mm and although these are thinner, since they’re solid, it is more durable and the prices aren’t going to be too high. I just got a customer who purchased from us on 12/14/19 and she said her Son took off his sweater and the chain snapped in half 😔🙏 Hollow chains in my opinion are only good for short term use. Also, since they’re a lot lighter and more affordable than the solid options for the same look, people gravitate towards it. It can be an everyday wear chain, but, not for a long time 🙏 Thank you very much for asking 💯

SEAN Wise Hey what’s good Sean 😃🙏 I will give you my honest answer, no. Go for solid. Here’s why: 1. During weekends or special occasions, if you go to the club, festival, wedding, or events, chances are you’ll go wild and if your Hollow chain gets tugged by someone who is holding you or you take off your sweater/jacket, it’ll snap in half. 2. It is very lightweight, about 2-2.5 times lighter than it’s Solid counter part. Therefore, if you do lose your hollow chain from your neck due to snapping, you won’t really realize it until it’s too late. 3. The hollow rope chain and the solid rope chain around 1.5-2.5mm, there isn’t much of a price difference. But, the value is profound. You’ll feel the weight of the solid around you and it is more durable than the hollow rope chain. 4. I will be making a video and upload it this week, guess what it’ll be about Brother? So, when he got the Hollow, he wanted to make sure it was real because it was so light. But, the good news is, he is still happy and he bought it back in June 😃🙏 However, it all depends on Your happiness. If Solid makes You feel more safe and comfortable, then Solid is the way to go for You Brother 😊🤝

Hi 😃🙏 To find out a rough estimate on the value of your gold, I went to www.goldcalc.com I inputted the weight and karat quality then it will tell you based off the live spot price for 10K the value it is worth. But, if you’ll be pawning it or selling it to a jeweler for cash, expect to get less since they will need to make a profit.

No bother at all 😃🙏 There is definitely a formula for finding out how much 10K/14K/18K is worth as far as live spot price. But, I double checked the goldcalc.com and it checks out. What you can also do is get the 10K Value amount, in your case, it is $259.64 and divide that by your 11.2 grams which comes out to $23.18/gram. Again, this is not the price you’ll get from a Pawn Shop or Local Jeweler because they’ll want to make profit off of your scrap gold. But, at least you know more of where 10K is at 😃🙏

Miami Cuban and Cuban links are my favorite Hollow chains and I highly recommend these for Beginners purchasing real gold jewelry. Do your best to be aware of where the chain sits on your body so that it doesn’t get caught on anything without you knowing. 3. When you take off your shirt/sweater/jacket, do it slower than usual because most people end up breaking their chain by taking off their sweater or jacket or shirt. 4. Do not sleep with it on, take it off before sleeping 😃🙏 5. In sketchy neighborhoods or areas, tuck in your chain so people can’t grab a hold of it and pull it off you. I hope these help Sam 😃🙏

Truthfully my Brother, we’ve had Clients who had it with and without a pendant and it still snapped pretty easily. Then again, if you really take care of it by not tugging on it, using the lobster clasp to open and close it around your neck, and making sure it doesn’t get caught on anything, it should be fine. Hi Cindy 😃🙏 How are you doing today? Semi Solid/Semi Hollow can mean different things depending on the chain. For example, our Rolex Link Style Chains are Fine Real 10K Gold and they are Semi Hollow. This means the links are solid, but, made with space to make it more light. For rope chains or Miami Cuban Link chains, Semi Hollow could mean the same thing. But, in my opinion, I’d rather go Hollow or Solid. Reason being, Hollow won’t be as expensive even though it can be more sensitive to breaking if pulled on too hard. Solid, yes, it is more expensive but it’ll be more durable. Semi Hollow, to me...is just a more expensive hollow chain lol so when it breaks, it’s like you just paid more for something that’ll still break. If anyone else has experience with Semi Hollow or Semi Solid chains, please let us know your thoughts and experiences 😃🙏 Cindy, everything we sell is Fine Real 10K Gold 😊🙏

I have hollow 10k rope. It feels sooo flimsy and cheap. It's real 10k gold but it feels just super delicate and not good. Looks wise it looks like a non hollow chain. It gives the look but certainly not the feel. I'm considering making a video of it at some point.
