When doing cupping, especially with removing oxygen to create such a tight seal, you're forcing blood to pool under the surface of the skin. Bruises are also just blood pooled under the skin as well as hickeys. As she leaves that vacuum on the skin, it continuously pulls at the skin and brings the blood more to the surface so it creates that round bruise. I do know that forcing bruising like that can have long term negative effects because I believe it does burst the capillaries.
