In case anyone was wondering, here are the difficulty of each of the breaking techniques: Easiest: Hammer Strike, Sweet little Zachy Zach Second: Straight Punch, Keith Third: Side Kick, Ned Most Advanced: Spinning Side Kick: Eugene (Is anyone surprised?) Tbh, side kick and spin side kick are ~almost~ equal in my book. Spinning, obviously finding your target and balance are harder, but you get a lot of force from the spin. Normal side kick, you can see your target, but getting the rotation and force takes a little more precision. I probs would have had Ned do a front kick so that his sprain wouldn't be bothered. Even the standing leg on a side kick works hard. --A girl who wants her 12+ years of martial arts to have been good for something, haha!

Tony the Chang see I think Keith’s and Ned’s can be interchangeable. Keith’s requires you to torque your hip into the punch; Ned has the momentum with his additional step. For ME, with a 2nd degree black belt in TaeKwon-Do, I find upper body strikes way harder. All my power is in my lower body. Edit- watching it back I realize why Ned didn’t break it the first few tries. He’s leaning too far back and not upright.

I've been doing martial arts for about six years, and bowing at the door has become so ingrained in my mind that I've often accidentally bowed when I was walking into work, into classrooms, even into my bedroom, just out of reflex. Always gets a confused laugh out of people before I explain.

What is with y'all not being able to leave Eugene alone it comes to him and kids? Every time Eugene even _looks_ at a kid, the comments get flooded with weirdos hoping he'll settle down. There are people who can get along with kids and still not actually want ones of their own, and that shouldn't be as hard to accept as it apparently is for you people. Let the dude live his goddamn life, people. EDIT: on a more positive note, those kids really are adorable

Eugene said before that the reason he doesn't like kids is that he's afraid he'll fuck them up...

I thought Ned would have been more into this; he seems like the kind of Guy who would take karate lessons on his own; but I felt he was a bit off through the clip. I guess he was worried for his formerly-broken wrist and finger - and didn't he get knee surgery right after this? OK, never mind, I can see why wasn't very enthusiastic about it lol

I forget where it's from, but there's some famous boxer quote that's like that. "Everyone should be punched in the face at least once. Realizing that you aren't made of glass, and that it doesn't hurt as much as you fear it would, is extremely freeing." As someone who's been punched in the face a few times, I recommend it honestly.
