Niharika Thapa, I’d suggest starting simple. Maybe try layering a crop top on top of a thin shirt or tank top? So you’d be wearing a crop top but you wouldn’t have to show too much mid drift, if that’s what’s bothering you. Hope this helps even the slightest. ♥️

I love Safiya I can binge watch all her videos. But as a vintage fashion and hairstyles enthusiast, I feel like she doesn't pick clothes in the right size or shape. And I have that issue every time she makes a fashion video. Most of the time she chooses clothes too small or that do not fit her body well. Every fashion trend has pieces that favor different body types. She's a beautiful talented woman, but as someone who sews, collects garments, and spends some money on a nice curated closet sometimes it feels like she's just putting on a costume instead of wearing and respecting the people that wear them on a daily basis as a lifestyle. I also had this issue when the Try Guys and the Ladylike girls tried corsets. And then when onto use belts and plastic boned ones. Especially the Ladylike video, they were very judgemental and they weren't even wearing the right piece nor they had a real tightlacer as a consultant, just a "fashionista" friend. Sorry for the long comment.

But when your are trying to recreate a fashion from 40-70 years ago confortability is not what you are looking for if you want to understand what those women went thru every day. On the other hand, there's nothing more confortable than wearing clothes that fit you. Corsets included. If we are talking corsets: plastic boned ones are awful because those "bones" break easily and can lacerate and break your skin while the steel boned ones, tho unconfy for a new user, are not as dangerous. Besides, plastic ones can hurt your back because they are not usually made with your measurements taken into consideration... But they are really off the rack. In general I love The Try Guys videos, including this one. Is really refreshing to see guys pushing the boundaries of what they've been told is "socially acceptable male fashion". And I think everybody should go and watch Safiya's Home Spa video right now. PS. Just want to let clear that I'm not trying to fight, I've been told that I sound a bit harsh in English. It's not my first language.

Thats literally irrelevant, though. Like I’m a straight woman and I don’t decide what to wear based off what men are attracted to. I wear what I want to wear and that’s it. I don’t give a damn if you’re attracted to it or not. If they want to wear crop tops they should. If they don’t, they shouldn’t. They shouldn’t wear them just cuz they think women will be attracted to them. When you make decisions off of what other people will approve of, you’ll NEVER be happy cuz you can never satisfy everyone. For example, I don’t like crop tops on men. So them choosing to wear a crop top to impress straight women wouldn’t work. You can only satisfy yourself. Let go of other peoples opinions.
