I don't know why I'm bothering to say this, as I'm sure it won't actually influence anyone's opinion. But there is no more a toxic masculinity than there is a toxic femininity, there is just toxicity. People who live in discomfort or fear or self hate, and push that onto other people, exhibit that characteristic. Men don't have to wear tutus or go out of their way to break conventional norms to not be toxic, they just have to be respectful, decent people. Buzzfeed is one of the most toxic sites there is. In their desire to be all inclusive of who they deem worthy, they spread hate towards others. Not to be taken out of context, there is nothing wrong with guys doing ballet, or any other manner of stereotype shattering activities, but you don't have to do those things to be nontoxic. Buzzfeed puts a lot of time and energy into shaming people for being Male or Caucasian. It can be incredibly pandering, using virtue signaling with no real goal other than to get woke points and spread hate. Anytime a group of people is attacked for reasons beyond their control, what else could it be called?
@cheeseisherelive4 жыл бұрын
MyChemicalRomants InMyPants you make fair points 👌🏻 I get what you’re saying and it makes sense. If we basically destroy social norms and just be good people to one another, toxicity won’t exist. It’s the standards that are built for people that makes certain behavior toxic, like how men “aren’t supposed to show emotion because it’s weak”. Like wtf? They’re breaking the destructive norms by just being guys having a good time doing whatever they want, Yknow? That’s why people are excited and happy 🤷🏼♀️ and yeah Buzzfeed sucks as a company, very glad The Try Guys have developed their own company 😊

As a ballerina, I didn’t know this was hard for beginners as it shows here. Sure, some techniques and most movements are hard to achieve, but we are so used to this life that it becomes normal for most of us. I wish most people were into having a class or two cause, for me, dancing helped me to learn so much about my body and to embrace it, and I think this would be helpful for a lot of people. Also, I hate how this same industry and the stereotypes have helped into making us look like we have a “standard”. I don’t like being perceived as a “you don’t eat anything with fat”, or “you have to be skinny”. I hate the standards that have been put into place for us and how many of us have just accepted it. We do eat, A LOT sometimes. We do go out. We do have a life and feelings. We do get hurt. We are not “elegant and poised” the whole time. We can be perfectionists, but we’re not perfect. It’s a hard thing to get used to because we pressure ourselves so much, and it can cause a lot of mental problems. I remember how I once told someone I danced and they told me “but don’t you have to be super skinny?” Just because I wasn’t a size 0. Please remember we are just like any other person and don’t put us into a box full of standards, because we are already dealing with it, and if more people think of us that same way we will never be able able to get out of that box.
@mihasala72833 жыл бұрын
Is putting you ( not you directly but a ballerina) in a box after metting and knowing quite a few ballerinas beeing skinny. But thats isnt what is problem. Problem im having is that they are brainwashed in a way no offence to balle but forcing young children from wery young age ( most i know stared around 3 ) to train somthing they probably shouldent. One day a former ballerina lost her consciousness. Later when she woke up she said she hadnet eatten or drank in 3 day. When we tried to give her something she refused. ( She quit becouse of joint disfunction) Again no offence to you but ill pass

eugene did a remarkable job with his arms, it's a large part of why he looks like he knows what he's doing. he's able to have that strong energy flows through his arms without them looking stiff, and also allows them to move separately from his torso. i've been in ballet since i was four, and i know that if i had tried this even at 20 w/o any experience i wouldn't have done half as well. zach, keith, eugene, and ned did an amazing job and you guys genuinely made my day ♡

It's hard when you have to remember to lower your shoulders but not let them slouch, lift your torso, tick in your stomach, not arch your back, tuck in your butt, bend knees outwards, always extend your feet in the air, turn out your hips, keep your arms soft and keep your neck extended, all while making it look effortless and graceful.
