In this video the tub goes back on the Willys CJ3B hopefully for the last time! Some brake details are wrapped up and wheels spacers are added to accommodate my Kelsey Hayes wheels!

I was a heavy truck mechanic fo almost 40 years. I just want to share a couple things with you. One is the "do not weld frame rail or drill frame flanges" rule. Some times ther is no other opttion, and i get it. The other tip I wanted to share with you is that frames need triaglation braceing to prevent "diamonded" frame rails in the event of an impact. I know you needed to make room for the fuel tank. You may want to add diagonal braces in another locatio. I enjoy the videos. Willys Joe

Thank you I appreciate the advice! I’m actually looking into building a custom frame. These stock ones are pretty weak. Thank you for watching!

I added wheel spacers to my 50 CJ3A, and it added so much stability. I like them. Yours look really good.

I dont like spacers either but I do like a slightly wider stance on a jeep. I had a '94 Wrangler YJ many years ago, it didnt have spacers but I put upgraded wheels with a small offset and wider tires so they poked out just the right amount from the fenders.

Does the wire go to the gauge? Then ground the tank? If you have KH 15x8 wheels you will need the spacers to clear the brakes. Caps look good. Try steel wool to clean up the caps.

I believe it’s just the ground for the sending unit. Yep if it wasn’t for the wheels I wouldn’t run the spacers. Thank you!

@@SevenBarSalvage ok. Let me know how you end up getting voltage to your sending unit. I am thinking the voltage comes from the gauge to the sending unit spade lug. Then grounded through the tank which is mounted to the frame?

Center of tire should be Center of the hubs

So what's the plan for the fuel filler? Are you going to use the original and graft it into the back corner??

I have that option or I have all the CJ5 components... I’ve not committed to an idea just yet but there will be a video coming out in the next few weeks on this! Thanks for watching!
