@robert boyle, yeah it was. I was in my early 20's and after that show, I was spent. A couple of years ago I went to the Rock Allegiance Festival that was an all day show. Great surprise seeing and hearing this. Made me happy! Found out recently that Fee gets together with Richard Marx to write songs, and according to Richard, Fee has quite the vocabulary. Back in the day when a lot of folks listened to Rockline on the radio, Fee would call you and mess with other artists like Supertramp. It was hilarious!

The best concert I ever went to was Knebworth festival 1978, the line up (in order) was Wilco Johnson, Rockpile, Boomtown rats, Peter Gabriel, Frank Zappa, and the Tubes headlining.. Greatest festival I'd ever been to, It was just a few days after Keith Moon died and the Tubes did a great tribute to him, playing 2 Who songs the only way the Tubes knew how, with guest Todd Rundgren.

Rick Anderson ( bass player) and I became friends when we were both restoring similar classic Jaguars. He always has some new car project he is messing around with. One year when my wife was hosting her company Christmas Party at our home , Rick, his Wife, and daughter showed up at our front door Christmas Caroling! Of course they became the life of the party! Though he only plays bass in the band, he can rip on guitar.

I saw these rockers in Sachsenhausen, a small town near Frankfurt, Germany, in 1981. We came after the opening act had started - and, as I remember, it was one person, wrapped from head to toe with whatever which obscured his features. To this day, I have no idea who it was, but he rocked hard, playing everything, all the instrumentation. Then waitresses dressed as you would imagine a German waitress would be dressed-with shorter skirts, lower cleavage-came out carrying large mugs of beer, lining them up along the front of the stage and invited all American service members to come and stand and drink and enjoy one of the best shows that I have ever seen in my life. Don't remember how I got back to Gelnhausen where I lived.

Terry, Juke's, Fred, I want to thank you for answering something that I've asked just about everyone I could about who it was that I saw that night. It had gotten to the point where my friends started to even doubt the story. I've actually never even heard of this guy, and I was pretty much up on music. Obviously not, huh? And also, another strange thing, about the same time that he saw Bunel and Dali's Un Chien Anjous, my friends and I would go to an old Mexican theater where, at midnight on Saturday, hippies and heads would attend the New American Cinema's weekly showing of movie serials, college art films, and classics, and that's where I first saw that film, same year. Anyway, thanks again, I'll check Nash out a little more; all I can say is that I was entertained. It was just as surreal as that movie, damn near. Muchas gracias.

On July 11 at The Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England The Tubes opened for The Hollywood Vampires. I always liked The Tubes but never saw them live. I thought they put on a pretty good show! Always loved "Talk To Ya Later" and "She's a Beauty". My favs. They also did "What Do You Want From Life","Mr. Hate", and "White Punks on Dope". Their cover of The Beatles "I Saw Her Standing There" was not so hot. Oddly the Birmingham (home of Black Sabbath) crowd just offered polite applause after each song. I was always impressed by their musicianship and punch to their sound. Clearly this UK audience was waiting for The Hollywood Vampires. But when you're an opening act you can expect it once in awhile. I'm happy to see they are still performing and look good doing it!

I saw these guys in Tulsa at the Cain's Ballroom in 1981 on their Completion Backwards Principle Tour. A HOT AS F September night. The Cain's had no air conditioning up until that time. They were hatin' it. But they delivered. On time, and with a smile. I love the Tubes.

Loved The Tubes since they started! Lucky enough to see them live 3 times thankfully. Why they have never been bigger here in the UK is a mystery to me! One of my all time fave bands!

Dresses like Boss Hogg! Who would've thought! My favorite band when I was 15 years old, and here they are all these years later.
