Great show...I guess you had to be there. The Tubes were on top of the Bay Area scene in 1975, Flo And Eddie were middle-billed and Eddie Money, 2 years away from his debut album opened the show. Good times.

Somewhere around this time, I believe I saw The Tubes at Winterland San Francisco ( I saw many shows there) and I was a volunteer Usher at Bimbos San Francisco where I saw their show about 3-5 times. The Tubes were a great show to watch.

After the '79 Oakland show, my companion of the era found a small forearm keychain dongle. It was in her purse for as long as I remember seeing her keys...*L* As for the band....etched my brain....weasels ripped my flesh....and later a co-worker opined that I was '....the sanest person he'd met..." ?!*#!? ".....you haven't met many people, have you? You Really ought to get out 'n about more...." *L* He's now living in Brazil, and I'm at the other side of the U.S. I guess we both took my advice... ;)

Now there is some body who knows what he's talking about ,& unlike New York in the 1970s """ THE CITY. """in which I lived in that Era & into the. 1980s was the best. @ one Time or was it that we we're so Young and promiscuous I was what is now Known as PAN or OMNi & very Non Binary and somewhat as a side Hustle on ""CALL "" if you will indulge me also Adult Performances in private Homes and Parties and On Stage and I worked my Day 😁😊 Job in the Financial District. Lived for a good While in Bernal Heights and the marina district and the Castro Every day was a New and Exciting Adventure and was always a great fun & People were a Blast we all loved to be together , we needed & wanted EACH OTHER in that Era. , Where have we gone so horribly wrong & could we have it back if we really wanted it bad enough , so now adays I am still in California in a suburb ( eeeccchhh !!!!! , ))) I know it's above Sacramento uhhh!! Don't rub it in. IN a Alt right. / Ultra Conservative so called Traditional Town , county and region and I was alright for A number of years , but not anymore please send positive thoughts my way. I have got to find my way out of here ,. I want to go to TEL AVIV or Amsterdam or Iceland and not live directly in the city's of these Places ,,,,, but Yes I sure do miss the years in San Francisco during the Disco and New Wave Music EXPERIENCE Glad I didn't miss them

Short version! My childhood friends obviously seized upon my 1960's military artifact collecting hobby, as "weird", because it generated the line "a beautifully restored Third Reich swizzle stick?" . I have to Chuckle whenever I hear it. So sad what happened to Vinnie, when we first met he was a 16 year old hippie in a fringed leather jacket with long red hair. ... what life's bad breaks do to some of us.
@kenmurphy67925 жыл бұрын
Ha! .. A Merc Montclair ~~ Who's Vinnie? Cuz .. I had a friend like that. He ALWAYS wore that damn fringed leather jacket! Indoors, outdoors, summer, winter, rain or shine, Crawford never took it off! I've watched him do things .. ( I won't say what ).. wearing "the" jacket, that would make your toes, curl up and wanna hide .. but I digress ~ He had long "kinda" red hair .. ( brown .. bordering on the red ) .. and he drank like a fish. I remember the time when he smashed the display window of a liquor store and snatched a BIG 1 gallon bottle of Smirnoff's Vodka. We took it back to his parents house where his 90 'something' year old grandparents and his 60 'something' year old mother .. ( ALL were stone cold hardcore alcoholics ) resided. Between the 8 of us, we polished it off and we all really got to know the history of the "Crawford Family" ~ The next day .. the local papers had a picture of a suspect .. ( taken from the inside security camera ) wearing a "fringed leather jacket" and "long dark hair" .. only showing the back of his head .. with the caption ~~ "Bandits break liqour store window and make off with a BIG bottle" *anyone recognizing this person please contact the police* @ ###-###-####. ~ Oh how we laughed! And do you think he stopped wearing that dammed coat? NO FUCKIN' WAY! ````` >>>> ```` .... So .. Who's Vinnie?

What do you want from life To kidnap an heiress or threaten her with a knife What do you want from life To get cable TV and watch it every night There you sit a lump in your chair Where do you sleep and what do you wear when you're sleeping What do you want from life An Indian guru to show you the inner light What do you want from life a meaningless love affair with a girl that you met tonight How can you tell when you're doin' alright? Does your bank account swell While you're dreaming at night? How do you know when you're really in love? Do violins play when you're touching the one That you're loving? What do you want from life? (What do you want from life?) Someone to love And somebody you can trust? What do you want from life? (What do you want from life?) To try and be happy While you do the nasty things you must? What do you want from life? What do you want from life? What do you want from life? What do you want from life? Well, you can't have that, but If you're an American citizen you are entitled to: A heated kidney shaped pool A microwave oven--don't watch the food cook A Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home A kingsize Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum A foolproof plan and an airtight alibi Real simulated Indian jewelry! A Gucci shoetree! A year's supply of antibiotics A personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth And Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number A beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick Rosemary's baby! A dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams A new Matador A new mastadon A Maverick A Mustang A Montego A Merc Montclair A Mark IV A meteor A Mercedes An MG Or a Malibu? A Mort Moriarty A Maserati A Mac truck A Mazda A new Monza Or a moped A Winnebago Hell, a herd of Winnebago's, we're giving 'em away Or how about a McCulloch chainsaw? A Las Vegas wedding A Mexican divorce A solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot Or A baby's arm holding an apple? ~~ KM ~ WWG1WGA !!! TUBES RULE !! (ruled)
