What are our thoughts on the Next Generation Tudor GMT? Judging by how the brand is bringing out refined cases, bracelets, updated dials and with a new factory producing movements... This new family of Black Bay GMT's (and others) are definitely around the corner 🥃

It would be a welcome update to the model, but if Rolex do discontinue the Pepsi, and in its place re-release the Coke, I don’t think they’ll want Tudor upstaging them. However this watch already exists - black dial with gilt accents or white dial, thin case, true GMT movement, and roulette date wheel - the Lorier Hyperion!

They’re currently restricted by the dimensions of the movement. They would need to add a gmt to the bb58 movement. No indications they’ll do this.

Very nice rendition! Here’s what I’d love in a Tudor GMT: 39mm case (could be BB58), box sapphire crystal, 100m water resistance, T-Fit bracelet, date function at 6, 12mm thick at most, aluminum bezel (easy to make different colors), Tudor snowflake hands. Gorgeous, a nod to the original GMT Master, but also uniquely Tudor!

The most practical use of a GMT hand (outside of tracking another time zone) is when your watch has run out of power reserve and you need to wind it, set the time and date. If your GMT hand is set to your local 24 time, you will immediately know if your watch is in AM or PM. So you can wind it and set your date immediately (as long as your watch is in the safe zone of 6:00pm or earlier).

Very, very clever use of that hand for setting the date. There’s always so much talk about the “Danger Zone” with watches that I still haven’t fully worked out yet… but that practicality is great! Don’t we all love setting the time and realising we have to go around the dial another twelve hours to set the date 😆🥃

Had a gnarly situation when I first got my A384 El Primero, running the chronograph during the date change period (must've been around 9pm) and the movement wasn't fully wound, when I went to stop & reset it, I don't think there was enough juice for it to perform all the functions... freaked me out big time, if I remember the movement stopped (hasn't happened since) 😆@@the_shadow_realm5110 Have a superb weekend brother and thank you for the info again! 🥃

I own the current Tudor Diet Pepsi and honestly I don’t think it’s as thick as people say. Has wrist presence and character as is. Unless your wrists were really small I can totally understand.

@@mrlong6267 I have a 7.5" flat & wide wrist, and I own a Tudor Black Bay 41 S&G M79683-0002 with the 5 links bracelet & a Black Bay S&G M79733N-0004.....yes I love gold 😁. The former is with the new case(ala Datejust) which is thin(100m WR) 11.2mm, but the latter is thick 14.9mm & chunky(200m WR). Would it be great if they can bring down the GMT WR to 100m which is more than enough for a GMT watch(like Explorer 2) so they can make it thinner, like the BB 41 S&G. And with the 5 links bracelet it will look & feel exceptionally gorgeous....especially with the Opaline dial 😍

I love the GMT Opaline. I think the fuscia bezel idea is brilliant, along with the other details. Would love the five link bracelet, which is what I see them doing along with the hand set changes, as those seem to be the easiest. I think Tudor won't change the movement this year as I think that would upset all of the buyers from last year on the Opaline. All bets are off if they decide to add a GMT to the Pelagos 42mm, which I think/hope will be updated this year with some pops of color, and better knurling.

Your render with the black bezel insert is my favorite. That would be a classy but still fun watch to wear. I will be waiting for the GMT version of the Pelagos. I love my Pelagos 39 as an everyday tool watch with impressive but subtle attention to design details. I can't get on board with Black Bay's snowflake hour hand combined with round indices. Round markers need to be combined with a Mercedes hour hand and square with a snowflake. With that logic, I am not a fan of Tudor but of Pelagos..... so where is my Pelagos GMT?!?! Nice one. Gawd I love the direction Tudor have been moving. Personally I don't think we'll see a new GMT movement yet. I believe that their attention will be on spreading METAS cert. throughout the range (and T-Fit … and a BB54 range expansion). I liked the gilt dial - in fact I think we'll see more gilt in 2024 and beyond as a way of maintaining a vintage feel in the post faux lume era. A roulette date wheel would be the icing. Yeah true, but then again, the only thing we can expect is that they will not fill the expectations. Everybody thought the Exp. 2 will get an aniversary update, it did not (slimmer lugs... yeah) everybody was expecting an aniversary Submariner, nope (they changed the green Insert color without announcement okay) and I think they will not interfere with the releases of last year, the VTNR, by releasing another GMT. But let's see.

I’m beginning to understand now why manufacturers seem to never give us what we all really want. If they did, there’d be a short window of excitement and then our attention would eventually wain. Instead, brands like Rolex, Tudor, and sometimes Omega, barely drip out pieces we really want. I guess it keeps us hungry for more. That’s why it always feels a bit disappointing at W&W.

The older Rolex GMT's might be my favorite vintage watches. Especially from the 1960s. I love the individual, weathered patina look. Not crazy about the look of the modern Rolex Pepsi. If Tudor came out with a BB58 Pepsi or even a 40mm, I'd be all over that. Great video as always.

It’s the classic models lack of “glossiness” that gives them such a nice touch. Must say, I’m also a fan of older models / designs. Slimming down the case is #1 for me and make It 39mm. I'm good with the current design of the dial/bezel. Add t-fit clasp and get rid of the rivets and you'll have a winner.

I travel in and out of two different time zones, two major regional offices live in two other timezones... my family in a fifth. I've come into the position to buy a GMT Master II as a daily, but will also need a less attention grabbing piece for traveling in South East Asia. Would love that to be a Tudor GMT. I think I solved the mystery of the smaller indices for the BB GMT: To accommodate the GMT hand. The triangle had to be shorter. Then they made the dots smaller to balance it out. This I learned while putting together a mod/homage of it. 7:15 Here you can see the quarter markers (including the triangle) are pushed further out in addition to a shortened triangle. In the conjecture model shown on the right, the GMT hand would hit the indices. (EDIT: actually the HOUR hand is lowest and would hit the indices) Remember, the BB dial (on all BBs) is domed so the surface falls away as you move out from the hand-stack, thus giving more clearance to the GMT hand if the indices are further out.

The new version needs to be much thinner and have the improved bracelet (5 link or oyster) including the T fit clasp. Problem is I think Tudor makes the GMT thicker on purpose so it doesn’t compete with the Rolex model. 13mm is about the point where it’s too thick for me. 15mm is silly thick - the thing is like a hockey puck on the wrist!

Love GMTs, and have 3 of them currently. I was never able to pull the trigger on the Tudor Pepsi GMT because it was always just a little too big. Wound up with the BB Pro, which is great and wearable (not to say it couldn’t be thinner). Really hope they give a next gen Tudor GMT with smaller size options and overall thinner. And ditch the damn faux rivets!!!

Evening, I think you’re bang on with the possible renditions of the GMT. Like you say there are endless possibilities to create that perfect watch, but to give us all these Easter eggs in one go i just cant see it happening as Tudor likes to drip feed the market with small changes, to which i guess is just a solid business approach for longevity. So I’ll settle for a slighter thinner case, roulette date wheel and upgraded bracelet, especially with the fuchsia bezel.. wont hold my breath but something like that would in fact create such a demand, grey market prices would be insane. Rolex wont allow that 😁, cheers 🍻

it is about time the BB GMT was updated but I think the best move they could make would be to slim the height though it's never bothered me. Talking about affordable GMTs Miyota's 9075 is making traveller GMT's very affordable. I think I bought the cheapest presently available from the Tisell (old hands will remember them as an early provider of Rolex clomages) Korean website and paid £235 delivered to UK. It's a Rolex clomage though not an exact copy and paste but the quality is a bit mind boggling.

I think Fuchsia is a hard sell for most people for a few reasons, especially people that don't know the backstory to the color. In my mind it's kind of like buying jeans with holes in them. The Fuchsia effect was one of time, and usage, almost a badge of honor for the watch.

I've owned the Opaline GMT and now have the BB41 jubilee burgundy. They simply just need to make the GMT thinner and basically the same dimensions as the new BB41. It would be a hit.

Bruce, what do you think about Tudor doing a World Timer? They could borrow the movement from Breitling. Rolex doesn't have a World Timer, nor do I think they will. It would allow Tudor to be bold without upsetting Rolex.

Great mock-ups. Fuchsia would fit their born to dare motto. A little too out there for me. I’m hoping for a white dial BB Pro - but your 1 design got me thinking about an all black bezel with a white dial BB GMT, red GMT hand. The coke would be a winner too.

I like the rendition you did with the black bezel insert, the red hand and roulette wheel date. How the skip the faux riveted clasp. It’s awful IMO. It would be great to see a Pelagos gmt too!

You're a few years early, this movement is too young for big changes!! Meanwhile the OG Pelagos is their line most overdue for a refresh. Would love to hear your predictions on where they should go with them! Also, 90% certain we get a regular production FXD carbon chronograph. And of course the rest of the BB41 family will follow the updates given to the red bezel version last year

I took it down after 3hrs, a YT “live” views glitch essentially killed the video. Views got stuck at 200 and from there, even after more views came in, the analytics tanked and never updated. Basically, if the video doesn’t get off the ground in the first few hours, it’s very, very difficult for it to get any considerable future exposure. So I decided to cull it before it could do any damage (weeks worth of work down the drain but hey) 🤣🥃

They should update the entire, existing, BB GMT line. New, slimmer movement. Maybe scaled down to 40mm. Slight change of the dial text and/or logo. Then add a new color model such as a 'coke'.

Omega is so unreliable nowadays. They drop a masterpiece like the white dial Speedmaster, but then bring out an all ceramic $100k model a week later 😆 Tudor at least is more consistent 🥃
