Don't know what the complaints are about the narration. IMO you did a great job and I enjoyed this immensely.

Powerful and great science fiction story! Written in 1954, "The Tunnel Under the World", is actually an early Frederic Pohl (1919-1913)short story. Pohl's writing career lasted more than 75 years; from the late 1930s to 2012. If you are a science fiction fan, I highly recommend Pohl's work. Such as his 1977 novel "Gateway", which won a number of awards, including both a Hugo and Nebula Award for "best novel".

Gateway (and its sequels) are great SF. I also loved Frederik Pohl and Cyril Kornbluth's collaborative effort in writing The Space Merchants.

Is the narrator a text to voice program that is trying to mimic William Shatner?

It's all coming to pass now, not with miniature mechanical bodies, but with muti-agent artificial intelligences is a supercomputer. You and I will be digitally replicated by Google and used to find out how to make an ideal society (ideal for whom?).

No surprises where the seeds for " Groundhog Day " came from. Just like " Call Me Joe " for AVATAR. Not that Cameron would ever admit it.

Groundhog Day, Dark City, They Live, The 6th Day, Vanilla Sky, The Truman Show, Avatar, Men in Black, Brainscan, Brainstorm, West World, and lots more. Truly one of the best Sci Fi short stories I have ever heard and you could argue this story is the origin or at least did if first over all these and lots more like even the extinction movie on netflix etc.

Yes, there are many similarities between the movie "Dark City" and this story. Good observation. I could mention quite a few differences too - but I don't want to spoil the story for anyone.

+scott crocker As a narrator for a horror podcast, I'm continually amazed at readings...some seem to be the first time they're reading...mispronounced words, absolutely no expression. Don't they realize it's supposed to be a performance... and depending on the text, often needs several "trial" run throughs, to become familiar with the characters. I actually heard a reading of one of the most brilliant pieces of literature, "The Lottery", that was unbelievability BAD! Instead of taking the listener on a journey to the final shocking climax, he read it like a comedy! Every character had the same exact voice...even the male parts sounded like an old woman!

+Violet Femme You should volunteer to narrate a book. Most of the audio-books sites ask for volunteers, and then you can show everyone how itshould be done. I’m first to admit I couldn’t be a narrator, so I don’t criticize.

+Ezell Hayes I do narrate...and get paid to do so. I work very hard to bring the characters to life.
@ezell8884
@ezell8884 9 жыл бұрын
That’s good; I know I couldn’t be effective so I wouldn’t volunteer. Some people who narrated some of the books must not review their work. Since you are paid for your work you must be good. I would like to hear some of your work. Even though I am educated and read perfectly well, I don’t like the way my voice sounds when recorded. Good Luck to you.
