Back in 1978 I took delivery at the factory of my Taimar Turbo!! The original Reg was ALM 395S. had to sell it a year down the line due to cashflow issues in my business. Had a year of great fun I will never forget and I often wonder if the car still exists.

Shame mine when into the workshop on this exact day :( bad timing, but I'd only just got it out of storage after the winter and needs a few bits doing to it.

Really something british to be proud of. Tvr still Tuscan etc look futuristic after all this time. Nice basically hot rod engines nothing complicated just built for performance. Theres about 60 TVR registered on the roads in new Zealand.

@kingcurry6594 Жыл бұрын
Why? You've clearly never owned one or you wouldn't say something so f***ing stupid. I've had one since 2009 (a Chimaera 4.5), done 53000 miles in it in all weathers and it's failed to get me to my destination just once, when it's throttle cable snapped. That is reliability to beat most Porsches, Ferraris and alfas, to name but 3 makes.

Hi Alan. Thanks for the video on a car 1. I can't afford and 2. I can't fit into comfortably. Ps. Did you notice how many cars arrived. That had no females in the passenger seats. Just lonely old men enthusiasts. 😢😢
@kingcurry6594 Жыл бұрын
1) You should have worked harder at school like I did and got a better job, then you'd be able to afford one (or even 2, like me) 2) I'm well over 6' tall and I can get into one with lots of room to spare (Peter Wheeler, the former owner was 6'6'' and he could get into them easily). 3) There are lots of female TVR owners and drivers. 4) There are lots of sad envious people who comment on youtube, and you are one of them.

@SNORKYMEDIA A mate has a lovely Cerbera and when it failed its MOT, the whole chassis was rotten. He managed to get a new chassis that was powder coated and had a sort of plastic over the powder coat. That was about 10 years back, and she's still sailing through MOTs and bringing a smile to the face of anyone riding in her!

I have a 2015 MK3.5 Focus ST 2.0L TDCI and recently it has been throwing up some error codes which i am unsure what the actual cause could be. So, Every so often the car throws up an "engine service now" error message on the dash and the car goes in to reduced power with a louder exhaust note, This disappears and power is instantly restored by stopping and restarting the engine. The code's it's frequently throwing up are as follows: P02FA - Diesel Intake Air Flow Position Sensor Minimum/Maximum Stop Performance - Signal Above Allowable Range P02E3 - Diesel Intake Air Flow Control Circuit High - Circuit Short To Battery it has also thrown the following ones up (but these haven't come back yet): P003A - Turbocharger Boost Control A Position Exceeded Learning Limit - Signal Above Allowable Range P02ED - Intake Air Flow A Control System - Low Air Flow Detected - Actuator Stuck Closed P1102 - Mass Air Flow Sensor In Range But Lower Than Expected - Signal Amplitude < Minimum P003A - Turbocharger Boost Control A Position Exceeded Learning Limit - Signal Above Allowable Range Have you got any ideas or anything you can suggest that might steer me roughly in the right direction to work out what could be causing that? Thanks in advance!
@alan4x2 жыл бұрын
hi steve, i would say that is your egr valve, what mileage has your car done..if its over 80k miles i would definitely go for egr valve based on those codes

@@alan4x would you say likely an actual fault with the egr requiring replacement or just due to soot build up/blockage?

@@stevehunt8122 i always replace the whole valve, generally when the valves go wrong, apart from leaking coolant you can hear the mechanism working when you switch the engine off and in severe cases the mechanism really sounds noisy

@@markullyett My 50 year old car did a round trip of 400 miles that day and will be lapping cadwell next month. They are all built to the standard of the time and really you should compare build quality of the cars of the era. not sure what the show car analogy means when compared to build quality.. then again I built mine :-D
