Good question! It's difficult to choose one... My favourite British Director would probably be Danny Boyle. His best movie to date is Slumdog Millionaire. However, he has a string of other successful films. Sam Mendes is also a very good British Director. Some of his better known work has included American Beauty, Being John Malkovich and The Matrix. Mendes has also directed the James Bond movies Skyfall and Spectre. But you can't talk about great British Directors without mentioning Ridley Scott. His many success stories have included Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and American Gangster. Historically, Alfred Hitchcock is widely acknowledged for his brilliance as an important British Director. His classic cinematic masterpieces have included North by Northwest, Psycho, The Birds and Dial M for Murder. So... Four excellent British Directors get a mention here - spanning a few years of movie making. Never a short answer from Leanne but I hope it contributes to the robust discussion. Keep up the great work Cinema Effect team! 🙂
