Bernard Herrmann and Jerry Goldsmith made The Twilight Zone. The original opening TZ theme by Herrmann (1959) was light-years better than the Constant theme, but CBS thought it was too dark. Thanks for posting. BTW, if you want to buy the TZ scores, get the original and avoid anything that says "Joel McNeely". He tries to reinterpret Herrmann, but here is the thing: that guy sucks. Someone should break his baton in half.

The early Twilight Zones with the original opening and the atmospheric Bernard Herrmann music were superior to the rest of the series. It was Rod Serling's conception, before the network geeks stifled it. The later ones were kind of cheaply obvious, the early ones had an eerie, unspoiled quality.

Yep, Herrmanns first season theme far superior to constants (still effective) and his 3 score that season where to be ever instilled on our psyches..then..according to producer Buck Houghton comes in.."Benny, fresh off of North by Northwest success announced he had raised his fee..I told him, we can't afford it"..he stormed out."

These are facts.. I find myself coming back to this episode because it's like poetry. The whole episode is incredible the aesthetic and whole vibe in general is really great. I think this is in the Top 3 episodes from twilight zone.
