It was very strange, it kind of felt like it was lopsided

When I was a teenager in the late sixties/early seventies we used to gather at Cilgerran Castle with the local girls, Sarah Popplewell, Gillian Beynon, Delyth Howells, Kathy Mathias, all very innocent! We had to avoid the caretaker (Twm Bola) and we used to jump from the bridge in the towers into the window recesses. Happy days, many, many memories.

Those sound like some lovely memories, and it wouldn’t have been half as fun without evading the caretaker no doubt 😁

Thank you. Very glad you enjoy our videos. Hopefully once it is safe to travel again we will be hitting the roads in search of more castles and England is definitely on the itinerary.

Lovely castle that I remember well from my childhood at my grandparents' house near there. Great video in spite of the awful pronunciation of Teifi :-D

We do have a staggering ability when it comes to butchering the Welsh language. It could almost be considered a talent were it not unintentional. I would like to think that we were improving as we came into contact with more Welsh speakers but our isolation due to covid has put a stop to that for the time being. Glad you enjoyed the film though despite our pronunciation transgressions. 😀

@@MostlyCastles That's OK. Welsh is not the easiest of languages. The River Teifi (from which the Welsh name for Cardigan, Aberteifi - mouth of the Teifi) is pronounced Tivy. The letter 'f' in Welsh is like the letter 'v' in English. For the 'f' sound in English you need two 'f's in Welsh. Most English people couldn't give an 'f' about any of this, of course :-D

That's brilliant. You are right, most don't. It's been slowly sinking in and I imagine we will get there one day. One can only hope.

It makes so much more sense now that you have pointed that out. 😆

That's not how you pronounce Teifi, saes!

We regularly mess up our Welsh pronunciations. We can only apologise. We would like to think that we are getting better at it though.
