Oh, they should have made this interview at least twice as long. How gorgeous they both were even then! Such a treat! :)

In 2023 I'm seeing these three chatting at the French Garden, followed by the same scene, but with all of them absent, gone for good, leaving only three glasses of tea and our memories of a Hollywood that's gone forever. And it appears that the French Garden is gone, as well.

I was lucky enough to meet these two ladies on more than one occasion, talk a litle, and also meet June Haver, the FABulous Ann Miller, Phyllis Diller, Rhonda Fleming (incredibly beautiful even now). It was so exciting, I had seen them all in movies and Ann Miller on Broadway with Mickey Rooney in Sugar Babies, even had the tshirt and wish I still did. All of them so lovely; it was an exciting time around the year 2000 in Los Angeles.

And, how could I forget to add that I had just moved to Palm Springs when I was fortunate enough to see and meet Huell, he was one of a kind; very handsome, tall and magnetic with the great voice and Southern accent. His shows did not receive the global respect they should have, but he was loved by his viewers and locals in Palm Springs who knew him personally. What a loss of a smart man with a body of tremendous work.

Wow! How fortunate were you!? I am a child of the fifties and sixties and was raised watching the old films with my mother who loved film. Phyllis Diller was such a hoot!!! Mickey Rooney, incredibly talented! Such a shame that his offspring ripped him off. And was not June Haver to die for!!!? The face of an angel! I am glad that she found a good man in MacMurray. He was a VERY lucky man to have June! I guess their daughters sold the estate to a winery. It may have been Gallo. I can't recall off hand. The only celebrity that I have met and been to his house was George Benson.... Super nice and incredibly beautiful in person. He didn't even look real!!! Have a good one!

Ann Jeffreys still was quite pretty. Lots of makeup, but still pretty. I remember watching Topper on TV. She was 94 when she died in 2017.

Makes sense because Anne Rutherford mentions that if anyone in 1939 "had told me that 71 years later 'Gone With The Wind'..." etc. So, yes, that would make it 2010.

...Robert Sterling & Anne Jeffreys had a stately yet modest colonial home, at 121 S. Bentley Ave. in Westwood; just below Sunset Blvd. I just yesterday watched your cousin Robert & wife Anne's joint appearance on Murder She Wrote...very handsome couple & so elegant!
