Dear Sam, I’m so glad to hear this from you and that you’re sharing it with your students! I’ve seen you play Bach and it was truly inspiring! I currently work in the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra in southwest Finland and this is our bass room. I thought it was a fitting seating for a double bass education video :)

It's a current struggle of mine! That plus what feels like a sudden change in my left hand shape makes for a sound I don't like. I'm having to step back and slowly visualize what left hand shape and bow position should be.

I’ve got some videos on left hand and fingers as well! Maybe they can help

Yes , over all four strings. The vibrato is not needed.
