I could feel this I have a girlfriend for 7 years... Nobody knows I am in love and she is too but we can't tell anyone that's important to us that we're together.. It breaks my heart everytime we need to go separately because of the 8hrs drive distance from each other.. We were always afraid of being unaccepted.. We were always afraid of losing family... We were always afraid of giving up our jobs.. We were done.. Now someone else loved me and I try and accepted it.. But I kept on thinking about her.. what happened to her.. and my feelings for her never falter.. If I saw her again I would try and I could break someone else's heart because I knew I am still in love with this girl.. my seven years.. It's Covid season and I just wished she's ok..

It’s like what Kristen Stewart said in Happiest Season when she almost broke up with Harper(Mackenzie).. “I want to be with someone who’s ready..” this is what their story means, it’s difficult to commit with someone who keeps you hanging and too scared announcing her love for you to everyone.

Wow this hit hard, it’s easy to think just go with her and be happy but as someone who struggles with anxiety/panic disorder and depression I understand the girl with the bob. I don’t care for the world but my family means so much to me, I’ve been burned by too many “friends” to feel confident in committing to someone or something over my family. It tears your heart in two. It literally hurts. It’s scary. Sometimes family really is the only constant in your life, so when something jeopardizes that even a little it’s HORRIFYING! Thank you for writing this and making it. It would be great for her to have gone with her or showed up at her door, but the reality is that it’s not an easy choice or simple, it feels like an impossible problem, with no answer.

Haunting and beautiful. Straight movies about love ALWAYS have a happy ending. Life is more complicated than that. LGBTQ films are more than most showing a more realistic slice of life. This film just captured a pivotal loving and painful moment in their relationship and maturation. We don't know what happens next, we aren't supposed to. The film maker gave us the raw emotions of that turmoil and it was done exquisitely! From the cinematography, to the soundtrack, to the performances, I say Bravo and Thank you!!!😘😘😘👏👏👏👏👏

I see your point. We know that everybody has their own time to come out, but since one is out of the closet it's difficult to live in a relationship like that. I always talk to my friends about it, telling them I'd want my mom and my mother in law talking, laughing, I'd want our family as one.

I wouldn’t call the ending tragic. One of them just wasn’t ready to come out to her family and friends yet. The other said she’d wait and hoped she would knock on her door when she was ready, so in a way, there’s still hope. (I’m trying to be positive here, lol).

I love watching short films here on youtube regardless of the subject. But this one hit the pit of my stomach. I watched it a few more times and now understand why. A simple storyline, the emotional language and that piece of music 'Maybe' Alsakan tapes finished it off perfectly. Great film. Only just come across this film, in 2020, a little bit of time on my hands to watch things.

Most beautiful, sad, and touching film. I wish there wasn't so many bad endings in LGBT+ movies because being who you are and loving who you love shouldn't end up in a bad place and it isn't a bad thing. Also, I really want to put this out there. Why can't we all just love? Why is there so much diversity between people when we can just love? Why do same sex couples have to experience this or have the need to come out when we could just be free and love who we love without being scared and afraid of saying it? Is it really because of a book? Are you really going to treat people who are different horribly just because the book said "it's not right and is a sin" ? This is why people are killing their selves and why they lose the people they love because of your idiotic mindset that you think is "God's plan". If you don't support or like the LGBT+ community then don't mention it and go do something else instead of attacking people for who they are and making them feel like it's a bad thing. You wouldn't want someone down your throat telling you harsh words and telling you to be a certain way and making you feel bad for who you are so why do it to someone else? This is crazy and unbelievable. I am a girl and I love girls and there's no way i'm changing that for someone else.

Great job. Good production. (I'm a producer in Australia). I'm probably going to get sledged by everyone here as someone unqualified to comment but as a straight male (absolute supporter of LGBTQ community) who has encountered this very same issue in a hetro relationship, it is one of the most painful experiences you could imagine. It's torture. In the end they don't stand up to their families and their worlds. Like in this video, the question screeeeeams to be asked ... 'ok, if not now then, WHEN????'. The true answer is NEVER. They have no intention of being out in the open and that's the part that hurts most. Like we're not worth the losses but they expect us to stay hidden away. One time I was asked to hide behind a bush on the street because someone she knew was about to walk past and spot us. Subterfuge becomes more underhanded then deceipt then you become one big lie. Worse is hearing them lie about you as 'just a friend' when in company. Never again. ALWAYS be true to YOU and stand where you want to be stood next to, not where you're told to stand and stay hidden. Ooooh, I'm getting a bit stirred up. I think this video triggered some horrible memories for me. Again, good job in the film. More please!

the girl with darker hair was super selfish her gf was clearly miserable and clearly made a huge sacrifice to move there to be with her in the first place, but then as soon as its her who has to face her fear and make a change she just lets the relationship fall apart. i really hope there is a part two to this, i would love to see more!

You cant blame her. Some people are just not strong enough to come out.

Beautifully made.. But honestly the sentiment 'the world is not ready' not really realistic... at least to me.... Still a wonderful movie x
@mathru966 жыл бұрын
Ya thought the same thing. Unless you're living outside the West, the world is pretty much ready now.
@openvalvestudios6 жыл бұрын
You have to remember that even though the 'world' or a country may seem or is ready, many people (especially young people) still have a big fear of coming out because their environment - maybe more immediate - forces them into the perception that the world may not be ready. It's a sad reality, but a lot more present still than we may think. A character often speaks out of his/her own fears based on a personal experience.

Feel bad for anyone who is afraid of showing, experiencing love, that’s not something to be afraid of, life doesn’t stay still, sooner or later life brings, death, deceasing, and when it does, you will regret not living to the fullest, have courage, and remember, those people around you, even the closest to you, at the end of the night, they will go to someone who they belong to, and leave you by yourself.

Sad but not all relationship last the distance even when one truly love each other, other considerations make it impossible

i somewhat feel this movie.. some would say its easy to go OUT but for others its really really damn hard, it takes a lot of courage for them to do it..even if you say dont mind them or just ignore them as long as you love each other or not hurting anyone but the truth is you cant stop minding them or notice them ( in your subconscious ) i dont know if what im saying is right but thats what i feel..maybe im one of them??idk..thats just what i feel..

Is it set in South Africa? Is that why she said "the world is not ready"?
@openvalvestudios6 жыл бұрын
Siobhán O'Regan The story is set in the U.S., but believe it or not, many young people especially still have a fear of coming out in a country like this one; sadly.
@redlife34666 жыл бұрын
Maybe it was more personal than that, maybe her world revolved around the people she loved and cared about, I guess her implementation would be that they weren't ready.

Amazing movie, great cast. But so sad. You should turn this into a feature film with a happy ending ...
