The two rivers walk | Sheffield

The 2 rivers walk starts and ends at Malin Bridge on the outskirts of Sheffield and on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
The walk begins by following the Loxley Valley and the Loxley River to Storrs Bridge, Passing the old industrial industry remains that date back to the 1750's by the river.
From Storrs Bridge we cross the hills to the Rivelin Valley Heritage Trail as it follows the Rivelin River back to Malin Bridge and the tram stop terminus back to Sheffield city centre.
A spectacular walk with plenty of weirs and remnants of Sheffield's historical past and the odd wild swimmer along the way to.

nice walk Andy...i believe they are going to build houses on the old works along the Loxley valley...fancy bumping into a Squirrel doing a Mutley impression.The Rivelin valley is the highlight for me, really enjoyed it

I didn't even know squirrels made a noise until he put on a show - silent assassins - Rivelin Valley is a good heritage trail to walk - cheers

I briefly worked in the factory which made carbon blocks for steel furnaces you mentioned. It was, appropriately enough called Carblox. It was an interesting place. Many of the workers were immigrants from various countries who had worked there from the 1950s. There was a small contingent of Italians from the south of Italy who I remember discussing the football match that was going to be played that evening sometime in 1976. I think England lost!
