I really like bible studies where we just get a bunch of people together and talk out the scriptures and how to try and live by them. That's why I listen to this show.

P. S. I was reminded of an incident that occurred last October -- we were traveling from North Central Florida to Northwest Arkansas. We were about half-way there and found that one of the interstate highways we usually traveled was closed, so we stopped at a convenience store to try to get directions. While there, we got into a discussion with a very nice man (we didn't know him from Adams house cat, but my son and I introduced him to Jesus, and he asked for the information about Phil's book, "The Theft of America's Soul". We also discussed the so-called "race" issue and I let this man know right away that the bible teaches that there is one race, the human race (as you three have stated many times). I'll probably never know whether this man accepted Jesus, but we made the effort and took probably an extra 30-45 minutes, even though we were in a hurry to reach Jasper which is our overnight stopping place. When we left, we hugged each other and we continued our journey. I can only pray that this man has or will come to know our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

The body of Christ is the church, saved born again believers. To find a home church is a good thing though, for hearing the word, fellowship and hopefully to grow in the Lord. But you still need to study the word for yourself and pray. Church isn’t your salvation and your way to heaven but depending on what the church teaches can help or hurt you so pray and the Holy Spirit will guide you where to go

I was raised a Baptist. The church had a long history of my family attending and my great grandfather preaching occasionally. But even in a small town church like i attended, people can get into a habit, not because you can't wait to come and praise the Lord. One of the old jokes of Baptists is they put a plaque on everything. That was the case for us. One couple even bought a sign at the corner of the highway directing to the country cemetery and had their names printed on it as big as the name of the cemetery....LINDALE CEMETERY SO AND SO LASTNAME. In order to encourage more men to attend, about 30+ years ago, they had some of them become board members. So now you have board members that don't regular attend church, but make sure they are there to board meetings to make decision for our church. There was a Ladies Aid group that included non church people. One mother insisted on having her kids baptized, though she didn't 'want to take a bath'. There became such a disagreement on wanting the church to follow more of the scriptural teachings that when I left...there were 17 people that left....Seven adults and 10 future members of that church. My parents are gone and a few key Christians, now I believe only 5-7 are there now. So sad! I didn't mean to make this super long, but for new Christians...find a church that follows the Word of God....not just a 'feel good' church. For the new believer, welcome to the family! I'm sure Al is going to email you, but I have always liked the New International Bible (NIV). The Robertsons seem to use it too, since I usually read along. There is also one called the NIV Study Bible or the Life Application Bible which both can be helpful to you. They have a timeline of time, creation.....on...explains each chapter, the author and what the book of the Bible is about. might be helpful for you. Study Bible of course will explain scripture and Life Application is how to apply this to my life. And guys, could you please mention where in the scripture you are reading from?

Our choir went to another church to sing one night. My husband parked and went inside. A few minutes later another choir member came in and said “there’s a lady in the parking lot having a fit because a gray truck is in her parking spot”. Husband knew that was him so he ran out and sure enough she had a little gathering of people around her telling them about it so he got in his truck and moved it and she moved into her spot. Now we thought it was hilarious but had he been a sinner looking for a church, he would have left and never came back.
@ChibiPanda88883 жыл бұрын
Humans are creatures of habit and we usually get pretty ticked when our routines are messed with. It's unfortunate, but doubly unfortunate for Christians because we should handle these things with grace. I wouldn't blame your husband for leaving if he were a new member cuz that's a dumb thing to have a childish tantrum over.

Re finding a denomination or church: I agree with Jase that, sometimes, a person can avoid committing to any group of believers by stalling until they find a group of "perfect" Christians - which doesn't exist. However, Jesus said He was going to establish a church or group (assembly) of His followers, so I take it being His follower is meant to be a group, or better, FAMILY thing (the early believers called each other "brother" and "sister"), and not a purely individual matter. My advice to a new believer (I've been a Christian for over 50 years) on the subject of "which church" would include the following: 1) Go where they treat Jesus not ONLY as Savior, but ALSO as the King and Lord who rules their everyday life (1 Tim. 6:13-15. Rev. 19:16). 2) Go where they love one another, and it shows, especially when life hurts (Jn. 13:34-35, 2 Cor. 1:3-4, Prov. 17:17), and where they understand that God intends for us to need and help one another to grow up, to mature in our faith (Rom. 12:4-13, 1 Cor. 12:14-27, Phil. 2:4, Acts 20:35-38). 3) Go where the Bible, i.e., God's Word, is their go-to authority for all spiritual matters (2 Tim: 3:16-17). As to "which Bible", I recommend the New American Standard Study Bible put out by Zondervan (available from Amazon, so you don't even have to go to a store), which is a good "word-for-word" translation with helpful explanatory notes. As for non-inspired books for new believers, I like the little book "His Truth: Scriptural Truths About Basic Doctrines", by Jack Cottrell, likewise available on Amazon.

I guess my comment would be more to Brother Phil. I’m a little taken back that he wouldn’t suggest that a person who’s looking for a Church at the very least look for a church that sticks to the Gospel. You guys know there are tons of church’s that a person could go to after a Saturday night of honky tonk and never get the least bit convicted because of the preaching . Suppose that guy has ask Jesus into his heart confess he is a sinner to Jesus and ends up at a Church we’re they teach that you can confess your sins to a Priest and your sins are forgiven how’s that going to grow him. Let’s not forget when Revelations was wrote less than a 100 years after Jesus ascended to Heaven, he had some problems with the Churches at the time and what they were teaching. I do enjoy your podcast and thank you for having it. I hope you realize the amount of people you influence with your words.

I have immense respect for your biblical knowledge and thank you for sharing all that you do. I also agree with what you say about searching for a church with one exception. I'm not sure what it's like around your church. I've been told that within a 30 minute drive or less of my church there are between 30 and 35 churches. Not all those churches are teaching truthful accurate biblical Doctrine. Even within the same denomination what is being taught can vary greatly. I do not need to share this with you but maybe some that read this don't know. Our Bible warns us in many places of false teachers. I could quote scripture but I encourage those who are looking for it to open a Bible and find it.

Technically speaking (as opposed to politically or emotionally speaking), "racism" is the concept of race-based distinctions and or differences of any sort. It's a matter or fact not of any sort of ill will or negative emotions. However, to believe that people have less value due to their race and to hate them for that reason is just plain evil... it's not racist. The reason people nowadays like to change long-standing definitions is because it causes chaos and confusion and who is the author of such things? Exactly.

Let me begin by saying I love the Unashamed series of podcasts and the message that is consistently presented. I hope they continue for a very long time. I hope that Allen, Jase, or Phil can address the one question I have, that is, why do you need sponsors? I understand there may be expenses involved in the production and I don't blame you if you are simply trying to defray those expenses, or is this a "for profit" venture? It seems to me there is a risk of integrity should a sponsor company, or officials involved with a sponsor, are found to be engaged with policies or activities contrary to the desired message, not that I am in any way aware of any problem with current sponsors. I hope you that you are able to give me some clarification on this matter because your openness and honesty are key to how the podcasts are perceived to the subscribers. The question is from Tom in Arkansas.

I’ve just recently come across this channel and Have started with the oldest, and I’m working my way up to the most recent. I’m sure nobody will read this comment from this episode that’s three years old but I’m really starting to second-guess continuing watching. I was really disappointed with the answer that they gave to that gentleman’s question when he asked what kind of Bible he should read and what kind of church he should look for. he was simply looking for guidance when Jace went off on one of his tangents that clearly didn’t answer the question. When you said there’s one rule, there are no rules. It made me think of your duck dynasty show when you would call people hippies. Now you sound like the hippies. Just get saved and get baptized and then do whatever you want. Don’t go to church. Don’t pay tithes, just love Jesus. You guys are really sending a mixed message. Hebrews 10:25, says to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. How else would this gentleman be taught the word of God, unless he got himself into the fellowship of believers and had a pastoral covering over him? You guys say the tithe is Old Testament, how do you think a pastor (like your brother Al used to be) is supposed to get a salary? Or a church building is supposed to pay its people or pay its bills? You can’t pick and choose what parts of the Bible you want to obey and what parts you want to throw out but the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27)

Regarding Bible choices...The Amplified Bible (AMP) or Amplified Classic Bible (AMPC) is a great choice. It gives the context of scripture so it can be better understood... An example would be like this sentence (A disciple cooked breakfast) but the Amplified version would be this sentence ( A disciple [Peter] cooked [fish for] breakfast) ....Helps clear up any confusion. if you look up scripture online, Bible Gateway offers a choice of versions on their menu, so you can look there before purchasing a Bible for yourself, if that helps.God Bless!...

Beware of modern "translations" because modern "translators" are pushing an agenda and not Christ. Here is a good translation that is legit: Young's Literal Translation. It was compiled in the late 1800's and the scholarship is solid.

@@christianfreedom-seeker2025 This is legit.... the Holy Spirit led me to it... The Amplified Bible (AMP) is an English language translation of the Bible produced jointly by Zondervan and The Lockman Foundation. The first edition was published in 1965. It is largely a revision of the American Standard Version of 1901, with reference made to various texts in the original languages.

I would suggest a seeker can research local churches via that church's internet website, listen to a few sermons online, ensure it is Bible-based teachings in the sermon using lots of Bible verses being cited. Then go visit them on a Sunday morning. Stick with that church, until you find a better one. Never go churchless, no church is perfect. Even Jesus had Judas within His disciples, God had Satan in Heaven, there will be troublemakers in every church. Overcome evil with good, do not grow tired of doing good.

We go by no other version than the KJV due to other versions leaving out verses. Revelation 22: 18-19
