K Hog - You are only “bad” if you choose to be bad. Most people are inherently good, in one way or another. Often we do not help one another except in times of need, but I have seen many people come to the aid of people they’ve never met when someone truly needs help. And yes, “bad things DO happen to good people.” And good things happen to bad people... That’s Human Nature.

I've never been a real big believer in God. I believe in him but there are sometimes where its hard to believe. So I want to start reading the Bible and read passages about stuff thats happening around me. My question is how does Phil found passages about certain things so fast? Has he just read it page to page and remember certain passages?

Jase, if your toilet gurgles, the flush valve in the tank is leaking water into the bowl. After the bowl gets enough water, it will gurgle or even flush on its own. Question: "Why did Jesus spit for some of His miracles?" Answer: Near Decapolis, some people brought Jesus a deaf man who could hardly talk. Jesus healed the man, of course, but in an interesting manner: “Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears. Then he spit and touched the man’s tongue” (Mark 7:33). Later, in the town of Bethsaida, Jesus healed a blind man. Again, the miracle was preceded by spitting: “He . . . spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him” (Mark 8:23). To heal a man born blind, Jesus “spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes” (John 9:6). Certainly, Jesus, the divine Son of God, does not need physical props to work miracles. In many cases, Jesus merely spoke, and healing followed (e.g., Matthew 15:28; Luke 17:12-14). Yet, in three cases, Jesus used His spittle in the process of healing. One possible reason for Jesus’ use of His saliva has to do with the beliefs of His contemporary culture. Several Roman writers and Jewish rabbis considered saliva to be a valid treatment for blindness. Since the people of that day had a high view of saliva’s healing properties, Jesus used spit to communicate His intention to heal. Those being healed would have naturally interpreted Jesus’ spitting as a sign that they would soon be cured. The greater need of each of those healed was the need for increased faith. Jesus recognized this spiritual need and offered a physical action as a means of raising their expectations and focusing their faith on Himself. Thus, in Mark 8, the man’s spiritual sight was strengthened even as physical sight was imparted to him. It is possible that Jesus’ use of mud in John 9 was meant to parallel God’s original creation of man: “The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground” (Genesis 2:7). In other words, Jesus showed His power as the Creator by imitating the original creation of man: He used the “dust of the ground” to give the man born blind new sight. The creative power of Jesus’ miracle was not lost on the man who was healed: “Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing” (John 9:32-33, NKJV). Jesus healed many people in His ministry; in fact, there was no sickness or infirmity that He could not heal (Matthew 4:23). Significantly, the details of each miracle vary slightly. Jesus never healed the same way twice. The variety of methods used by the Lord eliminates confidence in any one technique or modus operandi. Healing is not the product of any talisman, amulet, spell, or process. Healing comes from the power of God. When Jesus healed, with or without spit, the response was usually something like this: “This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, ‘We have never seen anything like this!’” (Mark 2:12).

The story about Jesus spitting on the mans eyes it only sounds offensive if ya picture a friend like Bubba down the street doing it and he just made out with Bertha after they went to the Golden Corral buffet, but this is our savior who doesn't Dip copenhagen or do anything but bring us to the light, just like the lady touching his clothes to heal of her bleeding ,any part of Jesus is a blessing, if I was a blind man and feel Jesus presence I would submit and let him do what he needs to do and not feel as him as a regular man but as my savior and would not think of anything offensive or awkward because he's not a regular man he's Jesus our lord, I've let him have my life because I know I will be okay. the Lord is my shepherd I have all that I want have all that I need Psalms 23:1 Awesome show by the way guys I feel like you're are my neighbors and I'm just sitting in on The Talk in the old house what an inspiration to hang out with Jesus again and keep our relationship strong y'all are a blessing to me and my family during the pandemic keep up the good work I'll keep supporting it and spread the word about it

There were many such rules under law of Moses for two reasons. One it was a dispensation of laws for which forgiveness could not be obtained, only repentance to carry the sin forward, teaching and training in preparation of the Savior 's arrival. Secondly, unknown to the Jewish nation at the time due to the lack of any understanding of microscopic organisms, many of the laws were put in place for health reasons. Jesus 'fulfilled' the law of Moses by completing the prophecy of His birth and by following each and every aspect of the law perfectly, bringing it to a close. He transformed the Kingdom of Israel to the Kingdom of God which is much more spiritual in nature, being rather light in physical rules.
@huckle19534 жыл бұрын
With all that I said before, I should also say this, the New Testament makes many references to one 's body serving as a temple for one's soul. Not to be abused, defiled, or desecrated just as the Jews were to not do the same to their physical temple. So perhaps it comes down to what you think about it. It seems to me that you have some doubt in your hesitation. There is an occasion the New Testament, (which I am much too lazy to look up for chapter and verse reference), where the Apostle Paul dined with Gentiles and the Apostle Peter chastised Paul for it. Paul explains that his actions are not sinful because his intentions and his heart were pure in attempt to bring God's Word to both the Jews and the Gentiles. Apply this sort of thinking to your prospective tattoo. Will it defile your body, will it help or interfere with your ability to please God with your life? I don't think any man has the ability or the authority to answer your question definitvely. Remember this, a tattoo is forever.

Jase, the vent tube going out of the roof is plugged, not allowing air into the pipe and the closest location to get air is through the toilet bowl.
@holylandfan32754 жыл бұрын
I believe Jesus did that to the blind man so the man could show he had faith. He could have healed him instantly, but, sometimes, healing comes when we show God we are willing to go the path He has already prepared for us. Plus, I think it also represented when He formed Adam. He obviously formed the clay with His own saliva...His DNA.

Agree...check the vent that generally goes through the roof. I had one that had watering it and I needed to make a minor adjustment to ensure water flowed out of the tube. Otherwise, if a lot of rain comes, it can clog the vent.
@marknease16314 жыл бұрын
Agree. A symptom of that clogged vent pipe (aka stink pipe) is a gurgling sound when you flush the toilet and after everything goes down...the waste flow is starving for vacuum to displace the drain pipe where the waste occupied.

This topic( THE ORG SIN) describes the reasons about many things on earth, not just Mans decay but the earths decay as-well, When Sin came into GOD'S CREATION it's constantly destroying everything, Just look how many weeds grown in your little garden and If you've ever looked closely, they too, try to make themselves look like the crop, your trying to grow. That itself shows how sin try's to hide itself as something good and try's to copy GODS creation, I'm not a preacher, prob not explaining it right, I hope you'll understand what i'm trying to say. ONE MANS SIN does cause pain to us all in everyway.....

The gospel is God's power to save (Romans 1:16-17), through the word of God (1 Peter 1:22-25; Romans 10:17). Paul said that the core teaching of his gospel was salvation through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-8). Paul also taught that this gospel must be obeyed, or you will suffer the consequences (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10). So how does one obey the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ? By "obeying from the heart that form of doctrine" (Romans 6:16-18). You are buried with Christ by baptism into death, and raised with Him through newness of life (Romans 6:3-7; Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:26-29; 1 Peter 3:18-22; Acts 2:36-41,47; Acts 18:8; Acts 8:34-39; Titus 3:5; John 3:5; Mark 16:15-16).
