In my book Trash Talking is just useless, the most important thing is bagging in the results in the octagon. Now you guys will say Trash Talking is important for PPV buys, promition and media. See yeah, would dock Colby alot due to the fact that I remember back early in his career where for years he was your typical "respectful" fighter, but cuz he was so flat in terms of personality, and in terms of being a ridiculously boring fighter - he didn't gain any fan support or big fights. It was until then that he then took on this persona that's nothing but a lame caricature, it's embarrassingly pathetic imo. I've never taken him to be the slightest intimidating, (along with being obviously dumber than a box of rocks, but neither here nor there), i legit dunno how/why anyone takes him seriously. That's why i like people like Strickland so much more.
