You will make the Commercial farmers very angry,if all people can self supply and sustain who's gonna buy their stock?95% of fields in rural SA are abandoned in favor of 9 to 5s?On the bright side, I do a bit of Hydroponics and traditional Agric on a small scale to provide the basics.

Wish the TEDx had more people from the very sector she's based, and who ARE more in need of her skills?? Information seems to run away from us - even when flashes, like this, happen occasionally. It's mid 2023 now. Please update us on the progress of this scheme since 2019. Thank you.

Africa has so much agriculture going they will be able to feed themselves and not rely on anyone. I also see alot of African Americans getting back to their roots by getting back to agriculture. Im growing so many vegetables in a small place so its no excuse why others shouldnt be doing the same, of course if you have the means to do so. Much love to this sister and her parents.

Very unique primary school - that is how it was in Zambia. Now we no longer have production units, no workshops - just too many courses in business management

This is so inspiring. I've been farming for 40 years with great success the first 33 years. Now I have huge problems with monkeys and theft. I can't farm anything. It's so depressing. I'm looking for solutions to these two devastating problems.

Perhaps you should consider diverting into greenhouse farming. Easier to monitor and control this factors you mentioned.

Trap and start rearing monkeys ,thieves trap and keep them in a zoo , otherwise render them impotent through emasculation and others will learn a simple lesson yet never give up for life is a struggle till the grave comes calling

Identify a marketable crop that's not consumed by monkeys such a herbs and spices Also a crop that requires contact farming with marketers such that thieves cannot sell without a license. E.g. cut summer flowers, many types of herbs.. you need to do market research in your area and country
