The UGLIEST soap ever?

Unless otherwise noted, I use the following recipes at 5% superfat. Cold Process has a 10% water discount and hot process has full water and sodium lactate.
Cold Process Recipe: Hot Process Recipe:
33 % coconut 33% coconut
33% palm 26.7% Lard
8% rice bran 6.3% Palm
8% apricot kernel 8% Rice Bran
15% olive 8% Apricot Kernel
3% castor 15% Olive
3% Castor

Nope, not ugly to me! The design and final colors look like they’d be perfect for a Sandalwood or similar type fragrance. I love watching the progression of color change in these kind of soaps.

While it does match the fragrance and the fully darkened looks better now, a uniform brown from mica would have looked better. Thanks for your kind words.

Hello Eric! This soap did morph into something I did not expect. Maybe if the piping was yellow it would have turned out like a beautiful sunflower. Have a bless Saturday my friend! Oh, so many kind people here. This is why I always use a brown mica with a fragrance that browns. Lesson learned!

Ok, I’ll give it to you. The discoloration isn’t the prettiest. As you were cutting I was seeing a moldy smoked Gouda cheese. Is that the Wisconsin in me? 🤣 I think the design idea was beautiful, but the discoloration wasn’t the nicest brown. It’s still good soap that smells wonderful, right? 😊

Amen to that, my friend! I'll be using brown mica from now on with discoloring fragrances. It is soap, and it smells OK, but definitely not my favorite scent. I was curious, now I know.

Can you make sure in the future that the Music is not louder than the Talking? I have to crank up the Volume to understand you, and then I get blasted with Music. That is so annoying.
