I honestly hated naked bikes for so long. I've been riding for over 14 years now and until 2021 I never rode or owned a naked bike. But now my back loves a naked bike so much. Right now I could maybe handle 3 or 4 hours tops on a sportbike or supersport, but my back will hate me for it. Way I see it I'd rather ride a naked bike and feel comfortable than give up riding. @EEEBA1 Жыл бұрын
@@CycleCruza The wind is not a problem but a constant wind on your chest makes you tired quicker on the longer rides, that is all.
@nanaholic01 Жыл бұрын
@@EEEBA1 That’s an oversimplification. For example the super sports bike riding position will tire you out more than a more upright naked due to bending over and constantly working out your core body muscles every second as you try to keep your body weight off your wrists so you don’t mess them up (ppl who complains about wrist pain on a SS bike are, in fact, riding it wrong), even with the wind protection it’s a far harder workout than a normal upright position which is a far more natural position for your body. If you aren’t exactly fit a super sports bike will tire you out far more easily than a naked, even without the wind.
@EEEBA1 Жыл бұрын
@@nanaholic01 Yeah, I agree with that. After riding supersports for years I'm finally switching to a more upright riding position. My heart still loves them but they are not as practical for long distances.
@nanaholic01 Жыл бұрын
@@EEEBA1 I started out riding on a Honda CBR and recently changed to a Triumph Street Triple, the difference in riding position is huge. On the Honda I have to take breaks every hour and riding about 200km in day - a mix of highways and streets riding - is about the max I can do, and the next day I don't want to do anything but stay in bed. On the Street Triple I can do 350kms in a day, take just a couple of breaks for food and drinks, and the next day I'm just feeling like I worked out in the gym for a couple of hours, some sore muscles but the happy kind of sore. The difference is huge. If I do primarily long distance riding there's no way I'll pick a supersports bike cos those fairings cutting the wind isn't worth it.
@cG-es8mb Жыл бұрын
I have a z900. I like the looks of it overall. There are certain angles I can look at it and not like the looks as much. Wind protection ain’t bad. Rode 300 miles in one day on mine and it fine. Booty gets numb some but then I just put one cheek on the seat and have the other cheek off and alternate. The oil change is very easy to do on it. It has a lot of pep. When making a turn off road onto a street 3rd or 2nd is good and have to easily roll some on the throttle. If too much throttle it will knock me off balance and jerk me baxkwards. Would like to ride a 400 to compare the difference. But yeah, riding on interstate I just lean a tad forward and allow the wind to keep me in that position. Not bad unless I start wanting to sight see by looking to the right and left, that’s when wind bothers me. But starting to Move head a little to right or left and then use my eyes to look farther which helps.

On a quarter mile race the mt10 will always beat an r1, both being stock, on a longer run the r1 will win because of the power band is in the higher rpm on the r1 and on the lower rpm’s on the mt10 otherwise they share the same engine.
@CycleCruza Жыл бұрын
Nice! What is better is the MT10 is tuned for more bottom end grunt and mid-range power, where you want it for street riding. The R1 is more stout at the top end for the track, just like it should be. All of the MT lineup are awesome street bikes. Enjoy!

I am actually selling my 2023 ZX6R to buy another naked bike. Just way more comfortable to ride and the Z900 I’m looking at has plenty of power too. Awesome video. Keep it up 👍

Very good points. I have 2 naked bike Kawasaki ZZR6000 custom and Kawasaki Z1000. Both steer very acutely without fearings. I ride 90% around the city and these bikes are completely at home. I’ve toured on the Z1000 and a just adapt my riding to suit it.

The 2018-2024 zx-6r you don't have to take off any fairings to do an oil change. Only time you have to take fairings off is to change your air filter and spark plugs but its 1 screen and it slides off. Its more work to get the hoses off and back on than to take the part of the fairings off that you need. Kawasaki knows their audiance with that bike. They know most of those bikes will never see a track haha. The extra cc's is for more mid range on the street and the dented in looking front of the tank and shorter wind screen is for stunters. The 2024 even upped the mid range power even more even though the max horse power has been lowered.

Could you do a review on the new Aprilia Tuono 660/factory? I was looking at getting one and wanted to see what you thought about them!

I bought a 2022 tuono 660 factory and I can say it's a great bike but it's priced really high where you could get a more powerful bike for the same price. Not to say it isn't fun, it's perfect for around town or highway and IMU is nice to have. I'd say go for it if you really Ike the bike or take it for a test ride if you can

Realizing that this post is kinda old relatively speaking… Give me naked or give me death! I’ve been on two wheels for 35+ years (29 legally on the street) and the naked bikes take me back like no other. I love a revy four banger on the track, but there is something to be said for the midrange punch of a twin (V or otherwise) or a triple (thank you Triumph and Yamaha) that just can’t be put into words. I can say that I have been lucky enough to put a buddies Tuono 1100 through its paces and their V4 has all the aforementioned magic I speak of. Pound for pound, I’ll take most super sports in the the twisties on my old Buell xb9sx on fresh rubber.

I'm with you on the headlights that they put on modern makes bikes. Why do they have to put those but she headlights on when a round of even a rectangle light would look better? Even a single light that is contoured to fit the style of the rest of the bike would be nice. And yeah, that Kawi you showed is hidious.

my biggest complain about the factory naked bikes are the de-tuned engine / less power. dont know why the hell they do it. they reduce from 200+hp to a mere 150 / 165 hp. these naked bikes cant even make it to 170 mph but supersports do 200+mph.

I'm researching for mid-range (600cc to 900cc) naked bikes that I will also use for touring in summer (around 4 to 5 hours tours). I am considering the trident 660 as I love its rounded classic looks (the competition has that "transformers" looks that I cannot digest), but is it good for touring? What would be the best naked bike for touring? Thanks guys.

My whole entire problem with naked motorcycles starts with my age as in OLDER than DIRT...so back in the day NOTHING but naked bikes so much so they just called em motorcycles NEVER "naked" but then as the years rolled by Sport bikes appeared! They looked like something right off the GP circuit just AWESOME and I became addicted to THAT look so now nakeds look ugly where they did not used to, And personally I GET the whole srgonomics thing trust me my body is beat to shit! BUT there is literally ZERO actual real reason we cant have (non adv) sport styled full faired or part faired motorcycles with relaxed ergos! The UGLY truth is the marketing idiots just REFUSE to give that to us! REFUSE! and it pisses me off more and more and more! I mean think about it! there is NOTHING preventing an engineering team from simply making the fairing a little taller and wider to accomodate higher bars! NOTHING! And obviously the foot pegs can be placed anywhere.....but they dam just WONT DO IT! You either have to lean on your wrists hunched over in full race tuck OR ride a BUTT ugly Naked motorcycle I wish motorcyclist would unite and REBEL demanding comfort sport motorcycles! In fact they COULD even simply offer PIECES that converted an ergonomically uncomfortable sportbike into a comfy one! I envision the top part of the fairing seperating so you could pop on the taller wider one in the same paint scheme then unbolt the clip ons and rearsets and replace with relaxed fit pieces easy peacy throttle squeezy. Take the latest Triumph Speed Triple Cafe ...BEAUTIFUL motorcycle that EVERYONE despises as a torture machine.....WHY Triumph?? Are you idiots CRAZY?? You do know who has the money for these and likes the cafe style right? OLD DUDES with worn out beat to crap bodies!

The modern classics do look good though. The Z900RS and Bonneville line look fantastic. Even some of the retro bikes look cool, like the Trident. The best looking of them all though, is the Triumph Thruxton. That thing looks sick. Easily as good, or better than most sport bikes.

300-700cc naked bikes are really the best bikes for 55mph and under roads. They are better than super sports because you sit upright and can see better and have much better low speed maneuverability , better than super motos because you’re not sitting on a high dirt bike seat. Better than cruisers because they are more fun to ride and you’re less likely to get mowed down by a Tesla on autopilot. Some of the things people complain about I welcome. It’s 100 degrees with crazy humidity here today. I definitely don’t want wind protection. They complain about low gearing, but what’s the alternative? Having high gearing but only using half your gears. Even the baby naked bikes can break 100mph. The only exception is the cb300r which can do 97mph. You never need higher gearing on the street, if you don’t want to shift gears buy a damn scooter.
