Very true indeed, bureaucracy is definitely a business here, Brexit has overwhelmed the French systems with immense backlogs in almost all departments regarding any immigration requirements. However, like you say, this has driven employment of which has now increased the amount of hoops that we have to jump through. We'll get there in the end we're sure, it's just getting through the next few years that will be tough. Nevermind, we're used to eating Pot Noodles and porridge lol. Many thanks, bon chance aussi. A lot of the channels I follow also do Patreon, it’s not an either/or situation. Most put out their main content on KZbin, but then have behind the scenes or more in depth videos on Patreon. This then captures new subscribers and keeps the algorithm going, but then you get an income from the behind the scenes stuff. They also generate other revenue streams from things like travel guides, photography content, merchandise etc. Also, some of the channels have a mix of travel and practical stuff - reviews of products, van build ideas and DIY projects. Sharing how you plan trips, manage storage in the van, best gadgets etc always go down well. Best of luck with your future and look forward to supporting your future.

However and unfortunately, unlike the Strawbridges (I know Angel), we haven't currently the income to do the main renovations....we're in a bit of a 'catch 22' if you know what I mean lol. I'm a long time subscriber and have always enjoyed your videos. The subscriber's comment you mentioned in this video about making digitalised maps I think is an excellent idea and can dovetail in with your skills interests and longterm aims. There is a guy Chris Sloanes who has a KZbin channel of the same name. He is a photographer and has produced these fantastic travel guides for NC500 the ultimate road trip the Isle of Arran, the Outer Hebrides etc. They are all available as hard copies or digitally. He had a VW Grand California, but now has a motorhome because he travels with his wife extensively making KZbin videos but also as a photographer. He is comedic and entertaining because he's a right whinger 😂 he admits this himself. Have a look at his channel and what he does...mainly Scotland but he's done Norway too. I just thought you and Claire have similar goals and skills to him although you and Claire are much calmer and relaxed with an easy vibe all round 😊. Hope this is helpful. ❤

Occasional watcher here. Appreciate the honesty of what youve shared here. You are watchable, not annoying like many content providers, but lets me frank, there isn't many folk who are going to sink the equivalent of a tv licence just to get your content. It's a pity its so hard for you in this KZbin world, but it doesn't change the dynamics. Im overwhelmed with things to watch (i live on KZbin and am effectively retired) all for my KZbin Premium subscription that gets rid of the adds and gives us all the music we want too. Id be inclined to roll everything you've got into a £2 / month package or a £10 lifetime access. Sorry its so harsh but if i paid £10 month to all the channels i want id need to become a stockbroker.

I’m sure you’ve thought about this but you need to cut your costs and increase your output. Drop the maps and music then do daily videos. Make your thumbnails more dramatic covering an important point in your video. Add some of your pictures in the videos at the end, offer them as buy me a coffee downloads perhaps. Release your videos early evening as people are just getting home and want a relief from the daily drag. Cheers Martin

Good evening Martin, many thanks for taking the time to leave the recommendations for us to consider. Yep, we have thought about producing more videos, and hopefully we will in the near future. Yes, we have definitely considered dropping the music and maps, however, as we are not living in the van full-time, we use the maps (not only to show folks our routes) to help 'fatten' the video as we'd soon run out of content. If we were able to work, we'd be away in the van more frequently and have plenty of content, however, as we stand today, we're in a 'catch 22'....with a very small budget. We like the idea of Buy me a coffee downloads, we'll see if that can be set up....cheers. We release our vids on a Sunday evening as the YT stats say it's when most of our watchers are...watching lol. Again, many thanks for your comments, we are currently considering everything.
