For me, I think there are some clothes that are investments. It is best to save and buy them from stores like zara to keep th for a very long time. Items like jackets or winter coats are investments. It is best to buy a £35-50 winter jacket and have it for about 6-8 years than to buy a primary jacket and within 3 years it looks horrible. So it depends on the product. I would rather buy a good sneaker and wear it for 5 plus years than to buy a cheaper sneaker

I’m in Canada but I believe I’ve be watching from when I was in Nigeria. When it comes to Zara and shein I don’t really know much of both brands but I knew of Shein recently I think it’s like Temu. Other ways to save is to buy on sales if you want a nice brand at least I’ve bought puma sneakers each less than $70 or $100 dollars on sale, try it cos puma appears to always be on sale. The Jeans I wear some is courtesy thrift in Naija and Canada, I’m not sure if I have a jean not thrift. Hopefully may thrift on Car too. Life is in stages

I really enjoyed this video, thank you ❤ Please, is it possible to get admission into primary school for children before arriving in the UK and also, how can one rent an accommodation in the UK before arrival from Nigeria. Thank you so much
@TolaLusi2 күн бұрын
@blessings1001 Yeah, some people are able to secure accommodation before they come in... you'll need to download apps like rightmove, onthemarket, zoopla, and so on... However, for schools, you'll need to be here first cause you'll have to apply through the council, and they need your address first... so you need to sort out housing before securing a spot for the children.

As you're a single parent I would advise you to first come to UK alone and work your way into the system. Check schools how far they are from your home. I recommend church schools, Church of England. Children will need to be taken to school for 9am. So if you start work at 7.30/8am someone has to look after the children and take them to school. There are child minders who are registered but you have to pay them for the hours they care for your children. Some charge £18- £20 an hour. Schools have Breakfast clubs from 7am till school starts. You also pay for that. Recently I helped a Nigerian lady from church, collect her two children from primary school. After school club she had to pay £24 each day per child. So I saved her a liot of money.. Leave your children with your mum for at least 2/3 years then when sorted bring them to UK. Make friends with people at church and neighbours. You will need them at some point especially during school half term and holidays. Each term schools close for a week called half term. Then there's proper school holidays Easter, summer is 6 weeks holiday. That's the difficult one as you need someone to care for your children for a good 6 weeks. I worked with children and family for 29 yrs as a health visitor in South East London. Collaborated with GPs, Social workers and schools. Retired nurse, midwife, health visitor with Bsc Hon degree in Psycholigy, East London University, London, UK.
