Yeah no one is beating these two. That car is awesome. Nice that the Porsche engineers at least planned for the good stuff to bolt to this chassis, even though they were overruled by the marketing crew until recently.

I just started the video and as a 987 autocrosser and member of the AL chapter of SCCA myself, I can already tell these two are my new heroes!

I installed the TPC Turbo kit on it before they bought it. We drove it 2-3x but couldn’t get the COBB tune correct (even working with COBB) I couldn’t tell from the video (I’ll watch it again) but this car was chosen to be built into an AutoX car because of its PCCB option. We wanted the car as light as possible. Since then? I’ve gotten another Cayman down to 2400lbs but it took a LOT. Think acid dipping the tub etc. Carbon roof etc. Next up is a 981 with double A arm 992 front suspension.. and double A arm rear. Struts suck.

I believe they took the PCCB's off.

Have the TPC turbo on my Cayman that we AX for a decade in GGR with Steve. It was a pain, but was able to perfect the tune on ours (lucky)....

Nice. As someone probably starting an STU build next year, in a 981 base, this is cool. Getting tantalizingly close to local competition on non-autocross tires, and only Apex 9.5 and 11" wheels keeping me out of B-Street.

How do you generate meaningful downforce from the aero components at Autocross speeds, when the corners are typically taken at 30-50 mph?
@racertea8 ай бұрын
At those low speeds, it doesn’t really make a big difference. We do race at places with higher speeds and can feel it working. Ideally though, we’d have a much larger surface area, but are restricted by club rules.

Late to this video. When he says “stock transmission”, is it the stock Cayman transmission or the unit from the 991.2 GT3?
