​@LidiaExplores I plan to do this with my daughter next year and a half. Travel the U.S. by car. Do you only stay in hotels, though? I want to travel the cheapest way possible. I'm considering combining car camping, tent camping, and hotels.

@@Lynnette222 That's awesome! We have done hotels, camping, and hostels that offer private rooms. We have also stayed with friends and family in different cities. We are continuing into next year, so I am planning on looking more seriously into homestays and housesitting. You can look on workaway.info and trustedhousesitters.com if you're interested. We did a workaway in Japan that included free food and accommodation for two weeks, and it turned out great!

Heaven BLESS you two! I love this! I WANTED you to drive to Louisiana...so that doesn't count so much as a guess but more like a wish, 😆🤣! I used to live in the Florida Panhandle over 45 years ago, so I would have driven there to visit my old stomping grounds. Oh...wasn't Seoul amazing? Been there dozens of times in my lengthy sojourn in South Korea! Loved Japan, too, though I merely visited. As I said before, if you come here to Hawai'i...go to the Big Island so you'll have long roads to provide you plenty of driving experiences and more drastic changes of scenery. I wish you both all the safety and good wishes I can! Aloha!

@@LidiaExplores I'm originally from England. Being a military brat and a retired military member, I've lived seemingly everywhere. I lived here in the '60s and '70s, and I settled back here in 2001. Because I was in love with the classic film "Key Largo"...well I had to snorkel there once. Ernest Hemingway's books softly whispered in my ears as I took in a sunset at Key West. What was so odd to me was that the waters down there seemed to be at body temperature; in Hawai'i, the beach water is very cool, but not too cold. When I lived in the Florida Panhandle, I couldn't get over the WHITE sands there. Hawai'i sand is more tan. I freaked out in Saudi Arabia, though: that sand is...PINK(!?!). 😆🤣
