Ive been using a gunstock for over a year and I want to say that the first few weeks are hard to get used to it but once you get used to it its nice

Also a gunstock is hard if your using a gun with big recoil or if your close quarters so I recommend mainly using it for snipers and such

I play seated and use the armrest of my chair all the way up at a rest for my elbow, stabilizes it where basically I can shoot a pixel each shot. always use it when I'm fighting someone hiding behind something like a container or a rock

i play tabor sitting down on a chair with a footrest, and i use my knees as bipods so my arms don’t hurt and i can smooth my hands.

you can 100% learn to shoot at range without shaking if you have muscle memory, gun stocks just get in the way if you are willing to train your muscles first.

The added immersion is something muscle memory isn't going to bring. And yes, you can become a very good shot without a gunstock 🙂

i dont understand why vr gunstocks cost almost as much as real ones, i probably cant but it looks like i could make it in a DIY project with a bit of PVC, sawdering, and 3d printing, for under 20 dollars.

Sure can, there's loads of designs out there! But there will be a lot of trial and error and they won't all work well. Check out the SKOLVR Butcher or Smartstock, those might fit in your budget!

Carbon/chrome tubes, high quality 3d printed connectors, neodymium magnets, great ergonomics. But yes, if that's too much for you, don't buy one 😊

​​@@XyrageMostly just estimation, but carbon tubes for the entire length is ~$16, hell, I'll give you an entire kg of 3D printed material for $25, a few neodymium magnets ~$2-5, so the markup for profit and "really very high" ergonomics is about $105 and that's with the scales really tipped in your favor

Yeah really sad that they have everything for the quests accessories marked so high , I have a quest 3 now but I did have the quest 2 . I have to re buy most of everything of course which is fine but the gunstock prices aren't just marked high , it makes 0 sense this is why the VR community is still trying to explain and nobody wants to get into it. It's costly. Sad really for $150 I could get the elite battery head strap from the meta website lol . And it's still cheaper 🤣🤣

On the other hand you got a long horizontal bent pole that will almost always have some sort of either tracking issues or a problem where you can't get your reload hand off quick enough or allow easy use with side arm and or grenades etc

I'm currently making my own tips and tricks video and have found it quite difficult to record in game and say what I need to without a script. I've found myself doing many takes on certain aspects until I'm happy I have enough for my edit. My first video was text based but I really want to move away from that despite it doing fairly well for a first video. TIA Tactix.

What do I do about my sights being off?. Point of aim isn't point of impact. It hits lower then the dot. Even with irons it hits lower

There's sight over bore which impacts your close range shots and bullet drop which impacts the very far shots. But anywhere from 50 to 150 meters those shouldn't really be a factor.

@@Xyrage Quest 3... It's only when i try and use my Sanlaki gun stock. If I just use the controllers I can aim pretty well, It just feels wrong. My stock works perfect on any other shooter without fail. But i really do like this game so I am figuring it out.

@@Xyrage Got a ProTube. Problem solved. Aiming dead on now. You need to rotate the controllers and the Sanlaki stock will not do that. Or they could fix the in game calibration issue.

Thanks! I updated the link, thanks for letting me know! The distance between the hands are nearly the same on both gunstocks! You can adjust both in their own ways, including the distance of the hands. Big advantage of the SKOLVR stocks is the quick time to aim/shoot when coming from looting/opening a door/etc. Big advantage of the MagTube is that your hands are completely free when the stock is not in use.

Indeed, I had my Pro Tube strapped around my neck so I could easily drop it when needed. However, it ended up dangling around uncontrollably, getting in the way when I needed to grab items from chests and other tasks. I’ve started to avoid using a sidearm, grenades, and similar equipment. For me, it just wasn’t optimal. I’ve switched back to using my hands only and now I’m using them as a makeshift gunstock. I lock my elbows against my torso, pressing both hands lightly together-right hand knuckles to the left palm. This method works better for me.

@@scoopyrnoopers Yes, unfortunately, it’s not ideal. I still have the janky aim fix, hand smoothing, and virtual stock activated. This helps to keep the aim relatively steady. Holding your breath while aiming might also be a good idea, so the breathing movement doesn't interfere, especially at a distance. I'm still struggling with it, though. You could try building an improvised gun stock before deciding to buy one. I made my first one out of two drumsticks, some hot glue, and cardboard. Haha, I think I still have it lying around somewhere. The thing works well enough, but the flexibility is quite limited. But who knows, maybe you'll get along with it much better than I did.

I use a 2 point sling, this prevents it from dangling and makes it reliable where it drops. I have no issues using side arms or utility and can grab the stock in a second or so. Come by on a stream some time and I'll explain exactly how I've set it up.

Put your gun on your chest? If you're talking about with a stock then you should either have a sling and controllers that you can quickly remove, or there's some stocks that split which are made specifically for games like this.

Detach the controllers from the gunstock and let it hang on the sling. Muscle memory is needed to pick it back up quickly and consistently

@@Xyrage thanks friend so much your your reply i have autism and i realize my question was worded weirdly but it seems you have common sense and understood my question well. i get the muscle memory, as i speedcube and need muscle memory, but in split second situations it seems every second counts and i just i wonder if they could make some sort of magnetic thing that would make it even easier to get those controllers on in split second situations without risk of missing any slots. thank you for your great guide to help beginners like myself in Ghosts of Tabor. i have enjoyed my time so far more so than any game i have played previously on my quest 2. i enjoy it so much that i think i would consider buying a better headset just for Tabor. thanks again friend :) take care

The one thing I struggle with is what to like do with my eyes if that makes sense, like I feel like if I look down my scope I either focus too much on the red dot & lose focus of people I’m aiming at, or if I focus on the enemy with my eyes I have 0 aim with my ADS, do I close one eye? That feels off too. I dunno new to VR so it’s just taking a while to understand what exactly I should focus my eyes on?

If you’re using a red dot have both eyes open and if you are using a magnified sight use two eyes to get close to the target then close your non dominant eye to get the reticle on target.

Hey man this might sound weird but it could be worth getting a blood test done. You want to know if youre deficient in vitamins b1 6 and or 12. Even if it's only somewhat low it can make ya shakey as a leaf.
