@Oak & Alloy What size drill bit did you use and did you have difficulty screwing the coupler into the board, due to it not being a wood screw? Any tips on how to do it easily?

Well this potentially saved me some $$$, there are couplers that you can screw into wood but they're like $10 each, with this method I can get the normal ones for around $4-5 and I can always add epoxy if I'm worried it's not strong enough or make it go all the way through and bolt it from the top

I did this for my air nailers but put them to close together.

Do you glue or epoxy the connectors into the holes?

They have threads on one end so I actually could thread them straight into the wood without any glue or epoxy 👍

@@philballard6449 I used a 12mm spade drill bit, didn't have a 12mm drill bit, it was hard to get it to screw in at first, so give it a little wiggle with the spade bit, it screw in nicely.

@@thriftyhomediy Thank you for your reply. I ended up using a 7/16 drill bit and also tried a 7/16 tap and both worked okay but not great. It took a while but I got most of them fairly straight. Screwing a standard thread bolt into wood is a bit of a challenge but well worth the effort. The project really turned out nicely.
