Thanks Radu. I am new to the world of raw image processing and I think you have hit your objective of providing a "zero to hero" guide perfectly.

Really nice! I found a good and simple practice for luminance noise is just cranking both sliders up to 100 and then reducing only detail recovery, mostly to some value between 60 and 90.

This guide made a program that seemed to be daunting to start with suddenly a whole lot less daunting! :) The continuous editing of the 4 pictures at the end also gives great insight on the regular workflow in the program. That really helped that extra little bit. Superb!

I'm migrating from Adobe to Affinity for obvious reasons and was looking for a raw editor that fits my needs more than the Affinity one does. I'm having an absolute blast discovering how elegant of a tool Rawtherapee is! Thank you so much for showing me around! Only thing I've missed (maybe I wasn't attentive or maybe you thought this was too advanced for a beginner tutorial) was saving/loading/copying processing profiles so you can add the same adjustments to a batch of images that you probably took in the same location. Also applying LUT's and using the Rawtherapee Film Simulation collection as a creative starting point for (some) photographers is quite a cool feature. Batch editing, LUT's and profiles could be an idea for a future video? I'm sure people would appreciate and I'm sure I'm missing some stuff that I yet have to learn or bad habits that I have to unlearn. Again, I find that this tutorial covered almost everything that I needed to know with the basic handling and file management and I'm very thankful! All the best to you!

Thank you some much for this great and really complete tutorial, from the beginning (interface discovery) to real examples of image processing. As there are so many options, tha't really great to see which one you use most to get excellent results. I would add just a little trick : go into setting/favorites and add the most commonly used modules (the one used in the video mainly) to get it easier to find them later, as a newbie. ;-)

Thanks a lot for this first video tutorial. For sure, I would be extremely interested in watching some more videos of yours whenever you have time 🙂 For instance, something related to the color management of RawTherapee; e.g. related to the final printing of your Raws images. On KZbin there is little material (tutorials) about this subject since it is advanced stuff and not easy to know and explain. Also the Lab mode color would be cool to be showed since in GIMP it is not fully developed (you have to use RawTherapee to fully leverage this color correction mode). Anyway thanks again for your efforts!

I didn’t expect to sit through the entire tutorial, but I did and I’m glad I did. Very well done. Coming from Lightroom and wanting to find an alternative, your video helped me understand the different modules and sliders that are like those I use in LR. This makes me more confident about leaving Adobe! Would you happen to know if there’s a resize function in the program whereby you can choose to make the long side of an image a certain number of pixels?
@1kwords5 ай бұрын
Yes there is. Go to the editor pane in the left side of the program. Then choose the Transform tab on the right and a bit further down find the Resizse module. Activate it and where it says Specify choose Long Edge and enter your desired size in pixels.
