yes i know this is a year late, but i would like to see good practices to make chords for a melody and for a base/Riff and pairing the two together. im a indie Dev, making a Video. (its fantasy rpg) but i feel with music ive gone through tutorial hell/ not to mention when people start using Synth waves/ pads it makes it hard for me to follow. it just seems like its easier to create a good Base with a Pad, then something like a Guitar as a base and flute as a main instrument.

This video was amazing omds. I’ve been trying to produce classic soul recently but I can’t get it right. The way you were able to get the first beat sounding so full without taking away space for an artist is really impressive. If you ever decide to do a how to produce video or a beat break down please do it on soul

I just started diving into the soul stuff myself, it’s really fun to make! I’d be happy to make a video on how to make soul samples, do you have a particular artists you’re trying to emulate? Or is “vintage soul” a solid umbrella to target?
@maxAhMillion
@maxAhMillion Жыл бұрын
@@itsmeluked I think vintage soul as a whole would be really helpful as I’m still so new to the genre and producing in general. I’m finding your channel really useful I’m a music student so I really can’t express how much I appreciate channels like yours.

I’m really glad to hear that! I’ve got a few requests lined up for my next couple of videos but I’ll try to work some soul elements into the videos into the meantime, definitely let me know if you have any more questions too!

In edit of your videos, towards the end you should do a side-by-side comparison of each of the samples so it's easier to hear the distinct differences.

The second section was still nice imo, i liked it more than the first. But i get the point, you must first learn and understand the rules so you can break them and be different.

That’s my favorite thing about sound selection, there really isn’t a right or wrong. Maybe just a traditional/untraditional but I agree! Experimenting is one of the best ways to get something unique and interesting

Both the guitar and Moog can go into the MPC if you know sound design. Both the MPC and guitar can go into the Moog to use it filter and effect. Based on your instrument of choice, I think having all would be great.

thx for the video! which are your go-to plugins/vsts for sound selection?
@itsmeluked
@itsmeluked Жыл бұрын
I guess the biggest determining factor is really the genre I’m making, but everything from spitfire LABS is really great for a free plugin, and I’ve been loving BBC orchestra lately too (also free). I’d say serum is probably my favorite all around VST but I just downloaded Vital to work on a sound design video coming up and I’ve got to say it is INCREDIBLE for a free plugin. Thanks for watching!

There is no “correct sound and bad sounds” Its how you use them with other sounds. Finding your sound is important so people can know it’s you in a way. Don’t over complicate it. It also depends how you mixes sounds too!

I couldn’t agree more! The biggest thing with sound selection is making sure everything is working together toward your final goal 🙏
@thebeatmajors_yt

debatable.
@itsmeluked
@itsmeluked Жыл бұрын
I guess it depends what the goal is tbf, if you’re trying to make a certain well established genre there’s definitely “wrong” sounds, but if your goal is to just create something unique that sounds cool then experimenting is a good way to get it done! No matter what, though, the sounds should definitely all work together

That's awesome! Are you using mostly live instruments or VSTs? A lot of people struggle with FL studio audio recording at first but once you get the hang of it I (personally) think it's just as good as any other DAW. Do you have any other specific problems you're running into with FL?
