I had to try one for myself and low and behold I was blown away. Like that letter said, AIWA has been revamped and producing some serious sound equipment going forward. Aside from the loud bass and clear sound, the next draw was the interchangeable battery. Batteries being to die off over time and lose their charge, so with this speaker you can simply order another one rather then buying an entirely new speaker. Or an extra one for long outdoor events. Thanks AIWA, welcome back ....

Greetings fellow aiwa lovers . . . . spread the word about how many people who buy the Exos-9 don't realize that the usb-a slot on the back of the unit is where ALL Exos9 units are updated/repaired . To make a long story short . . . upon purchase you have to update Exos9 because by doing so greatly enhances the Exos-9 BIG time !! . . . . [think of it like a tuning up your car] . . . and in addition to updating Exos9 you may want to remove the "compressor effect" which is a function thats basically a circuit breaker to protect the drivers) . . . this of course is a good thing but some people have reported that the "compressor effect" affects the intensity and depth thus you may not like/want it.] . . . So if you dont want this simply look for "DOWNLOAD THE NEW FIRMWARE" [in red letters] . . . further down on the same page . . . [​@t​ . . . take your time and follow the instructions on the same page and you will be the proud owner of an awesome sound system !!! . . . just remember that if you do remove the "compressor effect" , watch how much Bass you add since it has no more driver protection please note that this has Class D Bi-Amps coupled with not only active but passive crossovers as well which are only found on high end speaker systems . . I also recommend getting its own carry bag and remote because its a well built machine and will last for many years if protected . . . study it and if you want feel free to join aiwa labs . . . I blew my woofer in my Aiwa Exos-9 over the Memorial Day weekend. We had the MF pumping at almost full volume for about 2 days straight, almost non-stop. The woofer came apart from the reflex foam (I noticed that the bass sounded airy and flat). The dual-voice woofer is rated at 2x8 ohms, 2x20 watts. Aiwa sells no replacement parts. Found a 2x8 ohm 2x40 watt woofer on eBay, tried to match specs but this is the closest I could find. Just installed it. YOU THOUGHT THAT MOTHERFUCKER WAS LOUD BEFORE??? The bass is NUTS, gotta keep it at +2 or lower! No distortion at all! So I now have a modified Exos-9, louder than any other!!! SHIIIIIDDDD!!!! Glad I got the extended 18-hour battery cuz I know it's gonna drain power like a bitch!

@@turtlepowersf I'm pretty sure it has to be on all units because of the speaker port .I returned mine immediately.Bought a JBL extreme 2 and amazed at the suond quality at low volumes with no distortion all the way to 75 percent max volume.Less expensive too and plenty loud enough for me.Try them both out if possible and you will see what I mean.People don't want to complain about the exos 9 because it does get really loud with booming bass but low volumes? Sucks! You can definitely hear a low rumble especially at lower volumes.Buy the extreme and you won't go back.
