I must say after listening to this video again with headphones, although the boombox appears to have more bass it is absolutely more MUDDY bass. I happen to be listening to this on some Aiwa Prodigy Air 2's that have similar bass-related complaints, however similar to this exos 3, I find the bass to be more than enough for what these products offer. Much clearer, more accurate sound than the boombox. I also have the EXOS 9, so I know Aiwa is more than capable of giving you as much clear crisp bass as you could possibly need. Seems to be a fad everyone likes the muddy bass with todays music, but for those that appreciate accuracy and clarity, Aiwa nails it! From a sound quality perspective at the 300$ price point, the Exos 9 is a far better buy than the boombox.

I LOVE mine! The bass boost is only good at 50% volume or lower and its “water proof”! I accidentally tested this when my ceiling started leaking in the middle of the night right onto the left speaker, no issues!

Does this sound better than the motion plus in your opinion? Is the difference noticeable?

You could always change a lot of the sound on those speakers using an equalizer or Adobe sound with the different options that are available! I noticed over the years that Bose usually puts their products out which sounds more on the bass side!

Oh absolutely, you're spot on. For this review, I wanted to simply play a song and let the speakers do the work. Yep...Bose for sure adds a bass emphasis (bass boost) at lower volumes.

Am I wrong or the speaker aiwa has an excessive presence on the mid frequency?

Aiwa and Bose to me have the best sound signatures. Jbl mids and highs are garbage imo, while bass is excessive. Thought I'd never say that there's too much bass on a bluetooth speaker, or bass is all you need, but jbl proved me wrong.

It depends on the size of the room, if you're on a bigger room, you'll love the boombox bass.

Flip 5 is much more portable, depends on what you want. Bass is similar - Aiwa is much louder.

What is this alleged "bass boost" feature? Pressing the + and - simultaneously does absolutely nothing. Well, the battery indicator lights come on, but that is all. I have 2 black models from the December 6 shipment. When I got them, I immediately thought "these don't sound so hot at lower volumes". The Oontz XL Ultra sounds way better at low volumes, probably because it is larger and has 3 bass radiators AND 2 tweeters. They sound about the same at full volume. Unfortunately the XL Ultra is no longer being sold. The new Oontz Angle 3 Pro is OK - and sounds good at low volumes because there is an EQ in the app - but does not sound nearly as good at full volume as the XL Ultra or the Exos-3.

There is an update out! I'd say it's a bit better a low volumes. And no having to hold plus and minus for extra volume.

@@cheungman83 I would hands down recommend the Soundcore Motion Boom or Motion+. Motion boom has the most bass and I would say is my all time favorite speaker for under $100. However if you want the best sound quality and more portable, the motion+ is a better choice. The bass is crazy good on the Soundcore boom though...

I have a motion plus and motion boom by Soundcore. Motion boom doesn't get loud enough and motion plus doesn't have enough bass. How's this speaker? I assume it's like the motion plus in that it's loud but can't sustain bass past 50%. Let me know

Hopefully a firmware update will lower the volume - or turn off - the extremely annoying voice.
