MSR Pocket Rocket 2 has served me well over the last three years. I also like the fact it comes with a hard case, the rattle was annoying until a bit of paper sorted that.

I liked them ( gas burners ) & used them because they are easy to use , provide quick heat. One down side is when the canister is empty you still have extra weight to pack. Worse yet , on a trip down the trail and the fuel canister gets a leak in it. Wanting to start breakfast and some coffee , no fuel , no flame , bummer. Because of those reasons and some others , noise being another one , I switched. My wood burner ( Firebox titanium 5" G2 ) I get the fuel for it as I walk along or find it around camp. I hammock camp so trees are always around. No empty canisters to carry and as long as wood is available i have a flame and heat. Down side ( for most folks ) which is a blessing for me since I don't hurry , they take time to use , are quiet and provide some camping fun of an actual fire. Both types of stoves along with all the others belong on trips. It's called personal preference.

@@Oldsparkey nice comment! How long does it usually take to boil water with that wood stove?

Not really something I'm looking for, but still interesting to see what many different bifl items have in common.

The ultimate buy it once camping stove is any stove that was made 50+ years ago, kerosene or naphtha. Everything that uses disposable canisters is extremely flimsy and complete garbage, full stop.
