You're forgot to mention the use case of IBIS for documentary filmmakers and handheld shooting. Also, FX9 owner here, this camera is HIGHLY attractive.

Got some hands on use with the Burano briefly at AbelNY and was pleasantly surprised at how much this camera can do. Really reminds me a lot of the Alexa Mini as it can be whatever the build needs to be: handheld, Steadicam, studio, solo op, gimbal/drone. As far as formats go, I've used the Venice extensively over it's lifespan and every job has either wanted ST or LT. They have some room to grow with firmware updates (Open Gate at some point is coming), but there is already a lot packed into this package. I've also seen a couple 3rd party manufacturers already fix the EVF adjustment assembly for much faster switches which alleviates that gripe. Personally, most of what I do will have the op use an on-board monitor and put the EVF/LCD on the assistant side anyway. Add the WC DBox for Burano and you'll get some more power distro for AKS and you're ready to go

The Burano certainly ticks a bunch of boxes for a lot of people in the F55 space, but I can’t help wishing they’d also make a more affordable 6K version (an F5 replacement, so to speak). Same body form factor, same ND/IBIS combo, same codecs and card slots, but a 6K60fps sensor with a slightly higher dual native ISO of 800/5120 sitting between 15-18K USD. Those specs do tread on the toes of the 6K Venice a little, but the lack of the high end XOCN codecs/ProRes options, lack of onboard power outputs and being a small team/solo shooter orientated camera could be enough differentiation to have larger productions choose Venice for its convenience and extra features.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do they since the price difference between the FX9 and Burano is $15k. Makes sense to release an in-between, or maybe an FX9 mark ii.

X-OCN XT is only needed when shooting VFX plates. X-OCN LT is virtually indistinguishable from ST: my two cents is that most people will simply skip over the lower bitrate and use it to shoot everything below a certain budget range (kind of like ProRes on the Alexa VS ArriRAW: only very high-end productions use the latter).

I got to briefly try the Burano at an event in late October: it's lighter than the Venice, but not by much, and it's not that much smaller either. That box-shaped magnesium body has a pretty hefty specific weight. Regardless of this, I think it's the most interesting upcoming camera right now (although there's not a great deal of new machines coming as we speak - officially, that is: I am pretty confident that Canon is going to unveil its next-generation of EOS Cinema cameras in 2024). I honestly don't get some of the bitching I've been reading online, especially in regards of the LCD\Viewfinder: yeah, it currently takes a bit of work to turn it into a monitor (a third-party accessory is on its way), but as a viewfinder alone, it works fine from what I've experienced. This camera is very likely to become Sony's equivalent to the Alexa Mini LF at a fraction of the cost.

The Burano sounds fantastic, ticks all the boxes... but, I have yet to see a shot which I can say yes, that is beautiful. The new BM FF camera is a fraction of the price and has virtually none of the features of the Burano but the images I've seen from that camera are stunning. In the end, for me, it's not features that are king, it's image. I think I'll invest in the Blackmagic FF and with the money I have left over, buy a new car.
