So good to have you back! Things are looking great…esp Ben in the beauty shot, haha! The ceiling is absolutely gorgeous. This is the only channel that can make me enjoy people talking about a refrigerator. Seriously, fridge video entertaining…Thats talent right there. Out of all the van channels in the world, I can pretty much guarantee no one else is talking about a fridge full of toe nails. I feel sorry for those other poor channels. Informative and funny as always guys!

Don’t forget, you need to have good ventilation for the compressor area built into your cabinet. It will last longer. Also, when you cut the 12V plug off, make sure you use the side of cord with the writing for your positive.

Thank you for this. Explained thoroughly and exactly what I needed! I recently bought a '98 RV that will be renovated and one of the things I'm wanting to do is replace the old fridge. Great video explaining the different types.

You guys are fun to watch. The build is looking really great. My personal view is that I do not want to open a drawer to then open my fridge nor do I want to play fridge Tetris because everything is piled on top of everything else. My plan for my overlander is to look to the boating world and utilize separate undercounter Isotherm fridge and freezer (they offer the same in a stacked unit too) with each unit having its own compressor. I leaning to the undercounter as it keeps weight lower in the vehicle meaning less body sway. The rule of CG keep heavier item low, lighter items up higher and if possible keep the heaviest items like water tanks and batteries down the midline if possible making your vehicle more stabile on side grades.

I get the convenience of the conventional door fridge. After almost 30 years of boat and van living we decided to go chest freezer/fridges this go around for the simple fact of less energy use. The ISOtherms are beautiful, wonder about the drawer versions -- how nice best of both worlds. They are $$$ though, if you can swing it worth it! good luck!

ICECO was one of our corporate partners in our van build series - along with Ecoflow, Kilmat, Flatline Van Company, Custom Mattress Factory, Haloview and others. We also have their VL60D and love it. We finished our van build series about a year ago, and we have done multiple videos and Instagrams about the VL60D. I did not think to have me INSIDE the ICECO - I will have to try that! : ) I know I can do it with Final Cut! We enjoy your content and light-heartedness. Blessings on your work, travel and health. We are in Indiana too - Seymour.

We use their custom slider. Originally, we were going to place ours where you did yours, but we changed the position because of the awkwardness. Plus, we got better ventilation in the new spot behind the driver seat. We do camping trips - we do not live in it. I am a retired elementary music teacher - 71 - our longest trips are a few weeks. This ICECO is perfect for us. The Secop Danfoss compressor is the best in the industry also used by ARB, Dometic and others. I am a little concerned about the appearance of a lack of ventilation. If there is not enough, it could be bad for the compressor. Maybe drill a few holes and install a small computer fan?

Im looking at the opening, mouth watering at the color combos behind you! 😁 We did a cooler with ice for 4 years, 2 of which I clamped a clear plastic hose to the drain and ran it out the back of a pickup truck camper to drain off the darned melt water. Buying a 12 v fridge is a LOT cheaper over a year of buying ice and worth every penny. And if your power goes out, you can still buy ice. We keep a bag in ours to keep the power use down and have ice cubes when we need them. Stay sane, people, buy a fridge.

Nice video! You two are a hoot. We went with chest fridge/freezers too. They are more efficient, you don't lost the cool when you open the door! On a side note, any chance you could share your solution for wiring the HeatMiser thermostat to a 3 way switch and the kalori fan? We are having a real challenge getting any support from the vendor. TIA! We hope to see you out on the road sometime!

@@dogcatmanvan Thanks for your reply. Good luck and good speed to you! After over 30 hours of troubleshooting, thinking it was the harness or thermo, turns out the 5 way relay was bad. It was such an easy fix, hubs was so frustrated. Heatso the vendor was so slow to reply. Automotive guy on youtube illuminated the obvious. His schtick was "Dumbass" do this wiring a relay wrong.... we probably fried it ourselves (Dumbasses :) . Hope this saves someone else time in the future. Was a simple fix once isolated! Woot! The heater rocks. Good luck you two, your van is looking great! Funny, you configured your new rig with the systems over the axle almost the same as us. Love it! Thinking it will be best for the drive train having the major weight as close to that middle line as possible. Can't hurt. side note, we did a ricirculating shower that runs on a quart of water, we don't recycle it just run it down the drain. Planning on a lather up/ rinse cycle immediately dump and a few following fresh cycles to finish, resulting in less than a gallon used per shower. Seems so much easier than the elaborate save and reuse. Gone Boondocking hour shower inspired us.

I wonder if you can order another basket from the company for the fridge side or just use the basket for the fridge as you’d probably be opening the fridge way more often. Especially since it holds the cheese for the puppers🐶🧀

hey Americans you really really don't have to put EGGS in the fridge - they don't go bad smelly or offf - promise you!!! Eggs come in their own safe casing - in Europe, England, Scotland - everywhere else in the world basically eggs are just kept in cupboard - nothing to fear and save space in you fridge at the same time - your welcome!
@dogcatmanvan
@dogcatmanvan Жыл бұрын
To minimize the risk of salmonella, most grocery store brands of American eggs are washed with 110º to 120ºF water, then sprayed with a sanitizing solution. Some are pasteurized, which takes this process a step further, heating the eggs to 140ºF to kill bacteria on both the insides and the outsides of the shells. While the process kills most microbes present on the shells, it also removes the shells’ natural coating, leaving them porous and more susceptible to harmful bacteria that could be floating around the grocery store or your kitchen. This makes it much easier for the eggs to spoil at room temperature, which is why the USDA mandates that all commercially produced eggs must be sanitized and refrigerated after.
