I have a Bajaj boxer AR of 18yrs old motorcycle which still returning 70km/ltr and my hayabusa is giving 7km/ltr. What a nice contrast.

This is a huge branch of motorcycling: the practical, reliable, cheap, commuter. Respect to that segment of our vast motorcycling world. Cheers!

Very refreshing that you cover models that commoners will actually use instead of focusing on the most expensivest flagship models. Very well made and edited video, I subscribed!

These kind of bikes are also what you see all over Mexico and the rest of Latin America, but the Indian ones are probably made better. I’d love to get cheap options like this in the US market. There are very few new motorcycles below $3000 that aren’t Chinese. We get this engine in the Honda Grom and a couple other models that are around $4000. I hope Hero eventually makes it to the US market as we already have Royal Enfield, TVS (BMW) and Bajaj (KTM). I’d rather have more cheap Indian made motorcycles than Chinese.

Exactly. This bike would sell in record numbers here in the USA. India is missing a huge market in the USA. A shame we cannot get the word to the proper people.

Everyone should have one of these. That's only about $870 US dollars (and, if I have this right, about 140mpg)! And it'll outlast its owner... He's right. This is freedom for millions of people, right here. Almost the perfect consumer product. Thanks, great review.

My first bike ever was a Hero Honda 100cc back in 2002! it was a great bike to learn. This one is the modern version, but I loved it for it's simplicity and reliability.

A lot of freedom for a small amount of money. Even if you have a car, this is still great to have. If you only ride this during summer and when there is no rain or cold, this would still benefit you. Look at the price and you will realise that your car will probably lose more money in value in one year than the price of this bike. Now this might not be for everyone, but if you are in a tight spot or you want to save money then this is the way to go. The thing that kills these bikes is not servicing them. They are cheap to service and if you keep up with the services, these will last a very long time. Thank you for doing these reviews. Not everyone can afford a new Fireblade or a GS, but these are so cheap that even if the engine dies, you can still replace it for cheap.

It may surprise some people but there is a huge market for this type of motorcycle in the USA. Honda currently sells a number of 110, 125, and 150cc motorcycles in the USA with great success. Some models have a waiting list at most dealers. The thing is younger American riders are looking for affordable fuel- efficient motorcycles and this bike would sell well here. The Chinese sell many small displacement bikes here through online dealers and even E Bay and Amazon sell them. I have been curious as to why India does not consider the American market. That belief that Americans only ride large displacement bikes is long gone with today's younger riders.

I can vouch for the 60kmpl-70kmpl figure. My father owns an older generation model of the same bike and it returns about 60kmpl. I learnt how to ride on this bike back when I was in my teens. In my opinion the front brake used to feel very wooden, therefore I always relied on the back brake which was very good. Cant say how it is on this new model...pretty sure they haven't changed much.

Great as an urban utility run-about or a farm bike. Better handling than a similarly priced scooter and cheaper than many e-bikes. I'd be willing to pay a little more for a front disc brake.

I had an 08' Honda CBR125R. My best tank was 1.9L/100km (70-80kph steady on a rural road). Super fun, light weight bike that could be pushed to do 110kph with my heafty 240lb ass on it. (80-90kph all day with ease) CBR was better looking, had front and rear disc brakes, a fuel injected 125 cc engine with a whopping 13+ hp. A proper 6 speed transmission. The 08 model year was a svelt 280LBs wet.

Sounds good ... for the money. I bought my granddaughter a SYM 125 K - cost R16000 new. Now done 6000km fault free! Does average 48 - 52 km/l - has "normal" 5 spd gearbox and is very satisfied between 75km/h to 85km/h on the open road. I very much doubt the 100 km/h mentioned for the Hero 100cc... Maybe on the speedo WOT??

LoL 8hp from a 97cc carburetted engine pirated from honda. Meanwhile Kawasaki can only muster 9.4hp from a 125cc programmable fuel injected engine and charge 3 times as much. I'm talking about the z125pro. Embarrassing.

3x price is justified as 1. Kawasaki is being sold to European market that can stretch the budget. 2. Look at the cycle parts / components such as plastic panels , tank covers, alloy wheels , LED lights , USD suspension , disc brakes , mono shock etc 3. The target audience for Hero is people in developing countries looking for cheap way to travel where as target audience for Kawasaki is people in developed countries looking for recreational riding (a toy )
